Overview

The ARRMA Shock Set, 58mm Length, 2000cSt Oil (2pcs) Z-ARA-1252 is an essential suspension upgrade and replacement component for RC enthusiasts running ARRMA 1/14 scale buggies. Whether you are maintaining your existing RC car UK setup or upgrading your suspension performance, this genuine ARRMA shock set delivers the precision engineering and reliability that serious RC hobbyists demand. These shocks are designed specifically to fit 1/14 scale models and come pre-filled with 2000cSt silicone oil to ensure consistent damping characteristics and smooth suspension response.

If you own an Arrma 1/14 TYPHON GROM or similar ARRMA ready to run RC buggy, having a quality spare shock set on hand is crucial for maintaining peak performance. Shocks are among the most frequently replaced suspension components in RC racing and bashing, as they absorb impacts, control weight transfer, and directly influence how your RC car handles across different terrain. The 58mm length specification means these shocks are engineered to fit perfectly within the suspension geometry of compatible ARRMA models, maintaining proper ride height and suspension travel. This shock set is an ideal solution whether you are a weekend basher looking to replace worn components, an RC racer preparing backup parts for competition, or a dedicated enthusiast building the perfect setup.

ARRMA is a recognised manufacturer of high-quality RC vehicles and genuine spare parts trusted by RC car UK hobbyists and professional drivers alike. This shock set represents authentic ARRMA engineering backed by the manufacturer's reputation for quality and performance.

Key Features

  • 58mm Length Specification — These shocks measure exactly 58mm in length, ensuring they fit perfectly into the suspension mounts of compatible ARRMA 1/14 scale models without modification, maintaining the correct ride height and suspension geometry for optimal handling and performance.
  • 2000cSt Silicone Oil Filled — Pre-filled with 2000cSt medium-viscosity silicone damping oil, these shocks provide consistent damping characteristics that balance responsiveness with stability, helping your RC buggy maintain control over bumps, jumps, and varied terrain whilst absorbing impacts effectively.
  • Two-Piece Set — This package includes two complete shock assemblies, which is sufficient for a full front or rear suspension upgrade or for replacing a pair of worn shocks on your RC car without needing to purchase additional units separately.
  • Genuine ARRMA Component — As an authentic ARRMA spare part (model number Z-ARA-1252), this shock set is manufactured to OEM specifications and quality standards, ensuring compatibility and reliability compared to aftermarket alternatives.
  • Compatible with TYPHON GROM Models — These shocks are specifically engineered for ARRMA 1/14 TYPHON GROM MEGA 380 Brushed 4x4 Buggy RTR models in both Blue/Silver and Red/White colour variants, making them an exact fit for your vehicle without any fitment concerns.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Shock Set Z-ARA-1252 represents precision suspension engineering designed for 1/14 scale RC buggies. At 58mm in length, these shocks integrate seamlessly into the suspension architecture of compatible ARRMA models, maintaining proper ride height and ensuring the suspension geometry delivers the intended handling characteristics. The 2000cSt silicone oil specification is a medium-weight damping fluid that provides an ideal balance between response and stability for general-purpose RC driving, suitable for both on-road and light off-road use. The viscosity rating directly influences how quickly the shock absorbs and dissipates energy from impacts, with 2000cSt oil offering a proven sweet spot for many RC enthusiasts who want predictable, forgiving suspension performance without excessive stiffness. These shocks are essential components for maintaining your RC car UK suspension system in peak condition, as damping characteristics degrade over time through use and exposure to dust and moisture. The genuine ARRMA construction ensures the shock bodies, piston rods, and internal components maintain tight tolerances and consistent performance across numerous runs. Whether you are running your ARRMA 1/14 TYPHON GROM MEGA 380 Brushed 4x4 buggy RTR hard on loose terrain or smooth surfaces, replacement shocks in this exact specification ensure your vehicle maintains the suspension performance the chassis was engineered to deliver.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What ARRMA models are these shocks compatible with? — These shocks are specifically compatible with the Arrma 1/14 TYPHON GROM MEGA 380 Brushed 4x4 Buggy RTR in both Blue/Silver (C-ARA2106T1) and Red/White (C-ARA2106T2) variants. The 58mm length and mounting specification ensure perfect fitment with these models without modification.
  • Why do I need replacement shocks for my RC buggy? — Shocks are wear items that gradually lose damping performance through regular use as the silicone oil breaks down, seals wear, and the piston rod tolerances loosen. Replacing shocks restores suspension responsiveness, improves handling consistency, and helps your RC car maintain the performance characteristics it delivered when new.
  • What does 2000cSt oil viscosity mean? — The cSt (centistoke) rating measures how thick the silicone damping oil is. 2000cSt is a medium-weight viscosity that provides a balanced damping response suitable for general-purpose RC driving, offering both responsiveness and impact absorption without being too stiff or too soft for most driving conditions.
  • Can I adjust the damping on these shocks? — These are standard ARRMA shock assemblies. Damping adjustment would be controlled by changing the silicone oil viscosity to a different cSt rating (lighter oil for less damping, heavier oil for more damping) or by adjusting compression and rebound settings if your specific shock assembly includes adjustment features, though the standard configuration comes ready to use.
  • How often should I replace my RC shocks? — Shock replacement frequency depends on usage intensity and driving conditions. Regular bashers might replace shocks every 10-20 hours of run time, whilst competitive racers may change them more frequently to maintain consistent performance. If you notice your RC car handling poorly or suspension feeling unresponsive, it is usually time to inspect or replace the shocks.
  • Are these shocks suitable for beginners? — Yes, replacement shock sets are suitable for any RC enthusiast comfortable with basic suspension maintenance. Fitting these shocks requires only basic tools and mechanical knowledge, making them an excellent entry-level upgrade or maintenance task for RC car UK owners learning about suspension work.
