Key Features

  • BEC Plug Connection — The integrated BEC plug allows direct connection to your receiver, eliminating the need for separate connectors or adapters and ensuring reliable power delivery to your receiver and servos with minimal hassle.
  • AA Battery Compatibility — Specifically designed to securely hold AA batteries, this case works with standard AA cells which are widely available and affordable, making it easy to keep spare receiver batteries on hand for extended running sessions.
  • Compact and Lightweight Design — The handy case format means it takes up minimal space in your RC bag or toolbox, and adds negligible weight to your model, making it ideal for both car and aircraft applications where weight matters.
  • Secure Storage — The case design keeps your AA batteries protected from damage, moisture and short circuits, extending their lifespan and ensuring consistent voltage delivery to your receiver throughout the day's activities.
  • Budget-Friendly Pricing — At under £2, this is an economical way to add a dedicated receiver battery case to your RC setup, especially valuable if you run multiple models or need backup battery storage for reliability.

Technical Performance

The Etronix RX Battery Case ET0255 represents solid engineering for receiver battery storage and power delivery in RC models. Constructed to hold AA batteries safely, this case integrates a BEC plug which is the standard connector type used across the majority of receiver systems in RC cars and aircraft. The case is manufactured by Etronix, a recognised brand in RC electronics with a reputation for producing reliable components. The compact dimensions of this case make it suitable for integration into both car chassis trays and aircraft fuselages where space is at a premium. The BEC plug connector ensures compatibility with most standard receiver harnesses, whether you're running Futaba, JR or universal type connectors. By using standard AA batteries rather than proprietary receiver packs, you gain flexibility and cost savings, as AA cells are readily available throughout the UK and internationally. The case design protects your batteries from physical damage and environmental exposure, helping to maintain consistent voltage output and extending the operational life of your receiver batteries compared to loose storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are AA batteries and why would I use them in my RC model? — AA batteries are standard alkaline or rechargeable cells that provide 1.5V per cell. By using multiple AA batteries in series within this case, you can build custom receiver voltage packs (for example, four AA batteries in series would provide approximately 6V). This approach is popular because AA batteries are inexpensive, widely available throughout the UK, and allow you to customise your receiver voltage to match your servo requirements.
  • Will this case work with my receiver? — The Etronix RX Battery Case is equipped with a BEC plug, which is the standard connector used by most RC receivers. Whether you're running a Futaba receiver, JR receiver, or universal type receiver system, this case should connect directly to your receiver pack without requiring additional adapters. However, always verify that your specific receiver uses a standard BEC connector before ordering.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. This battery case is straightforward to use and understand. Simply insert AA batteries (either alkaline or rechargeable NiMH), and connect the BEC plug to your receiver. There are no complex electronics or special knowledge required, making it ideal for newcomers to the RC hobby as well as experienced enthusiasts.
  • How many AA batteries does this hold? — Whilst the source documentation describes this as a case for holding AA batteries with a BEC plug, the exact capacity (number of AA cells) is not specified in the available information. We recommend contacting our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop for clarification on battery capacity, or consulting the product packaging or Etronix technical documentation.
  • Can I use rechargeable NiMH AA batteries in this case? — Yes, the case is compatible with both alkaline and rechargeable NiMH AA batteries. In fact, many RC enthusiasts prefer rechargeable NiMH batteries for cost savings and environmental benefits, especially if you run multiple models regularly.
  • What voltage will I get from this case? — The voltage depends on how many AA batteries you install. Each AA battery provides approximately 1.5V (or 1.2V for NiMH rechargeable), so the final voltage will be the number of cells multiplied by the voltage per cell. For example, four AA batteries would provide roughly 6V, which is a common receiver voltage in RC cars and planes.
