Overview
The ARRMA Shock Set, 58mm Length, 300cSt Oil (2) is an essential replacement and upgrade component designed specifically for the ARRMA 1/18 GROM range of RC models. Whether you own a Granite GROM, Mojave GROM, or any compatible GROM platform, this assembled shock set provides the perfect solution for maintaining peak suspension performance or refreshing worn components. As a trusted RC car UK retailer, we understand that suspension is absolutely critical to how your RC model performs, handles and feels during use. This genuine ARRMA product ensures you're getting factory-quality performance that matches the engineering standards of your vehicle.
These shocks come pre-filled with 300cSt silicone shock oil, which offers a balanced damping characteristic ideal for general-purpose bashing, casual running and weekend fun with your RC monster truck or desert truck. The 300cSt viscosity is not too stiff and not too soft, making it a versatile choice for drivers who want responsive handling without excessive harshness. If you're new to RC hobbies or upgrading your existing ready to run RC model, this shock set represents excellent value and genuine ARRMA engineering at an affordable price point. Many RC enthusiasts in the UK choose to keep spare shocks on hand precisely because suspension components do wear over time, especially when regularly bashing in challenging terrain.
This is not just a replacement part – it's an investment in your RC experience. The included clip-on spring preload adjusters allow you to fine-tune your vehicle's ride height and suspension geometry, giving you control over how your GROM performs across different surfaces and driving styles. Whether you're tackling rocky terrain, smooth tarmac, grass or dirt, the ability to adjust preload means you can optimise your setup without purchasing additional parts.

- Clip-On Spring Preload Adjusters — Included preload adjusters allow you to easily modify your vehicle's ride height and suspension stiffness, enabling fine-tuning of your RC model's handling characteristics without requiring specialist tools or replacement parts.
- Genuine ARRMA Product — As official ARRMA components, these shocks are engineered to exact specifications and quality standards, ensuring perfect fitment and performance with your GROM model.
- Set of Two Shocks — This package includes two complete assembled shock absorbers, which may be used as a pair for front or rear installation, or combined with additional shocks to create a complete four-shock suspension upgrade.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Shock Set delivers genuine engineering excellence in a compact 58mm package specifically designed for 1/18 scale RC models. The 300cSt shock oil represents a middle-ground viscosity that balances responsiveness with stability, making these shocks suitable for drivers of varying skill levels and driving styles. The silicone oil formulation ensures consistent damping performance across temperature ranges and provides reliable shock absorption whether you're running your RC model on hot summer days or cooler weather. The preload adjusters incorporated into the design represent professional-level tuning capability in an affordable package, allowing you to modify your suspension geometry and ride height within minutes. These shocks are built to withstand the impacts, vibrations and stresses inherent to RC model operation, with quality construction that reflects ARRMA's reputation as a manufacturer of premium ready to run RC vehicles and spare parts. The assembled design means all internal piston rods, springs and damping components are factory-calibrated and ready for immediate use, eliminating variables that might arise from home assembly.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these shocks suitable for my ARRMA GROM model? — Yes, these 58mm length shocks with 300cSt oil are specifically designed for the ARRMA 1/18 GROM range, including both Granite GROM and Mojave GROM variants. Check the compatibility list above to confirm your specific model. The shocks are ready to bolt directly onto your vehicle without modification or adaptation.
- Do I need to add shock oil or perform maintenance before use? — No, these shocks arrive pre-filled with 300cSt silicone shock oil and are completely ready to install and use immediately. You can unbox them and bolt them onto your RC model without any additional preparation, making them ideal for users who want hassle-free suspension upgrades.
- What does the 300cSt oil specification mean, and how does it affect performance? — CSt (centistokes) refers to the viscosity or thickness of the shock oil. 300cSt represents a medium viscosity that balances comfort and responsiveness. It's not too soft (which would make the suspension feel mushy) nor too stiff (which would make it harsh). This makes it ideal for general-purpose use, casual bashing and drivers who want versatile all-round performance. If you drive primarily on smooth surfaces, you might prefer stiffer oil; if you bash over rocks and rough terrain, softer oil may suit you better.
- Can I adjust the ride height using these shocks? — Yes, the included clip-on spring preload adjusters allow you to modify your vehicle's ride height and suspension stiffness. By adjusting the preload, you can fine-tune how much the springs compress, effectively raising or lowering your RC model's chassis and altering how the suspension responds to impacts and terrain. This is a valuable tuning feature that allows customisation without purchasing additional components.
- Are these shocks suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. These shocks are ready-assembled and ready to install, requiring no technical knowledge or specialised tools. The 300cSt oil provides balanced, forgiving suspension characteristics that work well for drivers still learning how to operate and maintain their RC models. Even experienced drivers appreciate the versatility and reliability of this specification.
- What is the difference between this two-shock set and four-shock sets? — This package contains two shocks, which allows you to upgrade either the front or rear suspension, or use them as replacement components for damaged shocks. Complete four-shock suspension upgrades are available separately if you want to upgrade your entire suspension system at once. Many users purchase multiple two-shock sets to gradually upgrade their vehicle or maintain spare parts.
- Why would I need replacement shocks for my ready to run RC model? — Suspension components are subject to wear and tear with regular use. Shock absorbers may lose damping effectiveness, seals can deteriorate, and shock bodies may become dented or damaged from impacts. Keeping spare shocks on hand ensures you can quickly return your RC model to peak performance without extended downtime. Regular shock maintenance is part of responsible RC model ownership.
