Product Details

Maintaining and building shocks is essential chore that needs to be conducted and for the racers out there it is a regular occurrence to get the performance of your car on point. But doing so with out scratching and marking your shock shafts or bodies can be difficult with a standard set of flat pliers! RC Overhaul steps in with this set of pliers that allows you to grip 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0mm shock shafts to change pistons without marking.

A little further down the tool is an opening that allows you to grip the body of the shock absorber, applying an even pressure around the circumference and preventing the body from rotating when gripped. In addition to this there is a ball remover for all of your ball links, it makes the task straight forward and prevents damage to the plastic of the ball end. Economically priced, anodized in black and finished with the 'RC Overhaul' logo, this tool is one to keep for a lifetime of RC modelling.

Overview

The RC Overhaul Shock Shaft & Ball End Pliers in black aluminium (T-RCO-TL007) is an essential workshop tool for anyone serious about maintaining and building RC shocks. Whether you're a competitive racer looking to fine-tune your RC car UK setup or an enthusiast who regularly performs pit work and rebuilds, this precision instrument transforms shock maintenance from a frustrating chore into a straightforward, professional task. Maintaining shocks is a critical part of keeping your RC vehicle performing at its peak, and for racers out there, it's a regular occurrence to get the performance of your car on point. However, attempting this work with standard flat pliers inevitably results in scratched and marked shock shafts and bodies — damaging components that deserve better care.

RC Overhaul has engineered this plier set specifically to address the challenges faced by RC enthusiasts. The tool combines multiple functions into one beautifully finished instrument: it grips shock shafts of varying sizes without marking them, applies even pressure to shock bodies to prevent rotation during work, and includes an integrated ball link remover that pops ball ends free without damaging the delicate plastic components. This is not just another generic plier — it's a purpose-built solution designed by people who understand the demands of RC maintenance and racing.

Finished in a durable black anodised aluminium coating and branded with the RC Overhaul logo, this is a tool designed to serve through years of dedicated RC modelling. Whether you're working on ready to run RC vehicles or building custom setups, this plier set belongs in every serious RC workshop. It's economically priced, professionally engineered, and built to last a lifetime.

Key Features

  • 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0mm Shock Shaft Gripping — The pliers feature dedicated jaws that securely hold shock shafts in three different popular sizes, allowing you to change pistons without scratching or marking the surface, which is essential for maintaining the integrity of your shocks and ensuring smooth operation.
  • Shock Body Clamp with Even Pressure Distribution — A specially designed opening further down the tool grips the body of the shock absorber and applies even pressure around the entire circumference, preventing the body from rotating when gripped and making it easier to work on your shocks without damaging them.
  • Integrated Ball Link Remover — The pliers include a dedicated ball remover specifically designed for all your ball links, making the task straightforward and preventing damage to the plastic of the ball end during removal, which preserves the longevity of your suspension components.
  • Black Anodised Aluminium Construction — Built from quality aluminium and finished with a durable black anodised coating, this tool resists corrosion and wear, ensuring it remains in pristine condition and performs reliably through countless hours of workshop use.
  • Professional RC Overhaul Branding — Finished with the recognised 'RC Overhaul' logo, this tool is a statement of quality and purpose, signalling to fellow RC enthusiasts that you take your hobby seriously and invest in professional-grade maintenance equipment.

Technical Performance

The RCO Shock Shaft & Ball End Pliers demonstrate excellent engineering across every aspect of their design. The multi-function approach eliminates the need to carry several different tools to your RC pit area, streamlining your workflow and reducing the risk of losing or damaging specialised implements. The three dedicated jaw sizes for 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0mm shock shafts cover the vast majority of shock configurations found on popular RC cars, buggies, and trucks across the UK RC scene. The shock body clamp feature is particularly ingenious — by distributing grip pressure evenly around the circumference rather than concentrating it at two points like standard pliers, it dramatically reduces the likelihood of denting or marking the shock body, which not only preserves aesthetics but also prevents potential stress fractures that could compromise shock performance. The materials and construction reflect professional workshop standards, with the black anodised aluminium finish providing both aesthetic appeal and practical corrosion resistance. This is not a throwaway tool — it's a lifetime investment in your RC hobby that will serve you reliably whether you're working on entry-level ready to run RC vehicles or high-performance competition machines.
