RC car enthusiasts across the UK recognise that suspension components are critical to performance, reliability and longevity. This Traxxas upgrade delivers genuine factory engineering, ensuring compatibility and performance that aftermarket alternatives simply cannot match. For serious RC hobbyists who demand the best from their ready to run RC or custom builds, this is the suspension upgrade that delivers measurable improvements in handling stability and component longevity.
Key Features
- Left and Right Steering Blocks — The steering blocks are precision-engineered to provide accurate front-end geometry and responsive steering response. These components have been beefed-up from the standard X-Maxx design to handle the extreme forces generated during high-speed bashings and aggressive off-road driving, ensuring your RC monster truck maintains consistent steering performance even under the most demanding conditions.
- Left and Right Caster Blocks (C-Hubs) — The caster blocks, also known as c-hubs, are the critical vertical suspension arms that connect your steering blocks to the main chassis. The redesigned and reinforced construction means they withstand tremendous impact loads and provide superior strength compared to standard components, directly translating to improved durability during intense RC driving sessions.
- Four Precision Bearings Included — This complete package includes two 20x32x7mm bearings and two 15x24x5mm bearings, providing all the rolling elements required for smooth steering operation. These bearings are essential for reducing friction in the steering mechanism, enabling quick, responsive direction changes and improving overall handling characteristics of your RC vehicle.
- 20x32x7mm Bearings (2 units) — These larger-diameter bearings are sized for the main steering pivot points, providing robust support under heavy loads. The precision construction ensures consistent performance across a wide temperature range and driving conditions encountered in UK RC bashings.
- 15x24x5mm Bearings (2 units) — The smaller bearings support additional steering geometry points, enabling smooth articulation and precise steering control. Together with the larger bearings, they create a complete bearing set that optimises steering response and minimises mechanical wear.
- XRT-Standard Engineering — These components come standard on the XRT, meaning they represent genuine Traxxas factory engineering developed through extensive competition and extreme-duty testing. You're not getting experimental or compromised components; you're getting proven parts that have demonstrated reliability in the harshest conditions.
- Direct X-Maxx Compatibility — Designed specifically for the X-Maxx platform, these steering and caster blocks integrate seamlessly with your existing chassis, requiring no modifications or adaptations. The fitment is precise and installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC maintenance skills.
- Extreme Duty Upgrade Path — Moving from standard X-Maxx components to this beefed-up XRT design represents a genuine performance and durability upgrade. If you've experienced breakage or wear in your current steering geometry, or if you simply want to future-proof your truck against failure, this upgrade delivers measurable benefits.
Technical Performance
These steering blocks and caster blocks are precision-engineered metal components manufactured to Traxxas factory specifications. The redesigned geometry delivers superior strength throughout the suspension linkage system, critical for handling the immense forces generated by 1/10-scale brushless RC driving. The included bearing set comprises two 20x32x7mm main pivot bearings and two 15x24x5mm support bearings, all manufactured to tight tolerances for minimal friction and maximum responsiveness. The engineering focus on reinforcement means these components can withstand repeated impact events, aggressive cornering loads, and the vibration cycles that accumulate during extensive bashing sessions. Traxxas developed these specific components for the XRT after identifying the exact load patterns and stress points in extreme-duty off-road RC driving, resulting in a design that optimises strength-to-weight ratio. The material construction and bearing quality ensure that steering response remains crisp and accurate throughout extended driving sessions, with minimal play or wear development. For UK RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and precision, these factory-engineered components represent the gold standard in suspension upgrade technology.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use these Traxxas steering blocks and caster blocks on my X-Maxx? — Yes, absolutely. These components are designed specifically for X-Maxx compatibility and come standard on the XRT. They represent a direct upgrade that delivers the beefed-up engineering of the XRT platform to your X-Maxx chassis. Installation is straightforward and they integrate seamlessly with your existing setup without requiring modifications or adaptations.
- What's the difference between these steering blocks and the standard X-Maxx components? — These parts were redesigned and beefed-up specifically for the XRT, resulting in superior strength and durability. The reinforced geometry can withstand higher impact forces and more aggressive driving conditions compared to standard X-Maxx steering components. If you regularly experience breakage or wear in the front end, this upgrade directly addresses those durability concerns.
- Are these suspension components suitable for extreme bashings and high-speed driving? — Yes, these are purpose-engineered for extreme duty. They come standard on the XRT, which is Traxxas's flagship extreme-duty platform, and they've been extensively tested in the harshest driving conditions. They're designed to withstand the tremendous forces generated by high-speed impacts, aggressive cornering, and the vibration cycles that accumulate during intense RC driving sessions.
- Do I need any special tools or expertise to install these steering blocks and caster blocks? — These are replacement components that integrate directly with your X-Maxx chassis. Installation requires basic RC maintenance knowledge and standard tools. Detailed instructions are provided, and the fitment is precise without requiring any chassis modifications or adaptations.
- What is the purpose of the included bearings, and why are two different sizes provided? — The bearings are critical rolling elements that enable smooth steering operation. The two 20x32x7mm bearings support the main steering pivot points under heavy loads, while the two 15x24x5mm bearings support additional geometry points. Together, they create a complete bearing set that minimises friction, ensures responsive steering, and reduces mechanical wear throughout the steering system.
- Are these Traxxas parts genuine and factory-authorised? — Yes, these are genuine Traxxas factory components manufactured to OEM specifications. They're not aftermarket or third-party reproductions; they're the exact same parts that come standard on the XRT platform, developed through Traxxas's engineering expertise and extensive extreme-duty testing.
