Key Features
- Designed Specifically for 12.3" Wheelbase Class 2 and Class 3 Competition Crawlers — This body has been engineered from the ground up for serious competitive rock crawling, ensuring it meets all the requirements and regulations of Class 2 and Class 3 competition formats. This specialised design means you get optimal performance when competing or tackling challenging terrain with compatible crawler platforms.
- Pinched Front End and Dove-tailed Rear End for Maximum Tyre Clearance — The distinctive design features a pinched front end and dove-tailed rear, which are not merely aesthetic choices but functional design elements that maximise the space available for larger tyres. The wheel openings provide clearance for tyres up to 4.85" with no trimming required, giving you flexibility in tyre selection without compromising the body's integrity.
- Authentic Late-1980s Domestic Styling — The Coyote features genuine Late-80s American truck styling that captures the rugged aesthetic of classic domestic 4x4 pickups from that era. This authentic design approach appeals to scale enthusiasts who appreciate historical accuracy and detailed aesthetics alongside performance characteristics.
- Best-in-Class Approach and Departure Angles — The short overhangs engineered into the Coyote design deliver best-in-class approach and departure angles, which are critical factors in rock crawling performance. These optimised angles allow your vehicle to navigate steep terrain, obstacles, and challenging rock formations more effectively than competitors with longer overhangs.
- Single-Piece Crystal-Clear Polycarbonate Construction — Manufactured as a single, unified piece of crystal-clear polycarbonate material, this body saves weight compared to multi-piece designs whilst maintaining structural integrity. The transparent material allows you to display the mechanical components of your crawler while providing excellent durability and impact resistance during aggressive crawling.
- Molded-in Drop-Down Bed for Scale Accessories — The integrated drop-down bed feature provides dedicated space where you can mount your favourite scale accessories and custom details. This purpose-built design element simplifies customisation and allows you to add personalised touches without compromising the body's aerodynamic properties or structural performance.
- Maximum Crawler Performance Complying with Competition Rules — Every aspect of the Coyote's design has been optimised for maximum crawling performance whilst adhering strictly to the letter and spirit of competition crawling regulations. This means you can compete with confidence, knowing your body meets all requirements and gives you genuine performance advantages.
- Paint-Then-Peel Overspray Film Built-In — The body includes an integrated paint-then-peel overspray film that protects unpainted areas during the painting process. This innovative feature simplifies the customisation workflow and ensures clean paint lines without requiring masking tape, saving you time and delivering professional results.
- Made in the USA Since 1982 — Pro-Line brings over four decades of RC design and manufacturing expertise to this product. The company's heritage in producing quality RC bodies and accessories means you're investing in proven engineering and reliability.
- Includes Decal Sheet and Window Mask — The package comes complete with a decal sheet and window mask sheet, providing everything you need to add authentic detailing and protect windows during painting. These included accessories streamline your preparation process and help you achieve a professional finish.
Technical Performance
The Pro-Line Coyote HP body represents a significant engineering achievement in competitive RC rock crawling design. Constructed from crystal-clear polycarbonate, this single-piece shell achieves an optimal balance between weight savings and structural durability—critical factors in rock crawling where every gram matters and the body must withstand impacts against rocks and obstacles. The material's transparency allows you to showcase your crawler's mechanical components whilst providing excellent impact resistance. The body dimensions measure 16.7 inches (424mm) in length, 6.5 inches (165mm) in width, and 4.8 inches (122mm) in height, making it perfectly proportioned for the 12.3-inch (313mm) wheelbase platforms it's designed for. The pinched front end and dove-tailed rear design aren't arbitrary styling choices—they're functional engineering decisions that maximise tyre clearance to 4.85" without requiring modification, whilst the short overhangs deliver best-in-class approach and departure angles that are essential for navigating extreme terrain. The integrated drop-down bed feature provides a molded mounting area for scale accessories, allowing you to personalise your crawler whilst maintaining the design's structural integrity. Every element of this body has been engineered with competition crawling in mind, meaning you get genuine performance advantages whether you're competing in organised events or tackling challenging natural terrain. The included paint-then-peel overspray film simplifies the customisation process, whilst the authentic late-1980s domestic styling ensures your finished crawler looks as impressive as it performs.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Pro-Line Coyote HP body suitable for rock crawling beginners? — Absolutely. Whilst this body is specifically designed for competition crawling, it works with any 12.3" wheelbase crawler platform, making it accessible to builders of all experience levels. The included paint-then-peel overspray film and window mask simplify the preparation process, and the clear polycarbonate material is forgiving if you make minor painting mistakes. Beginners will appreciate that this is a straightforward body shell with no electronic components or complex assembly—you simply paint it, decal it, and mount it to your existing chassis.
- What RC crawler platforms is this body compatible with? — The Coyote HP body is designed for any 12.3" (313mm) wheelbase crawlers, including the Axial SCX10 III range, Element RC Enduro models, and other compatible platforms. The product listing specifically mentions compatibility with Element RC Enduro Bushido, Enduro Ecto, Enduro Sendero, and Axial SCX10 III variants. Before purchasing, verify that your crawler has a 12.3" wheelbase—this is the critical compatibility measurement.
- Do I need to trim the body to fit my tyres? — No trimming is required. The wheel openings are specifically engineered to provide clearance for tyres up to 4.85" with zero modification needed. This saves you time during the build process and eliminates the risk of accidentally damaging the body during trimming.
- What makes the Coyote HP different from other competition crawler bodies? — The Coyote HP stands out through its optimised approach and departure angles (among the best-in-class), its authentic late-1980s domestic styling that appeals to scale enthusiasts, and its integrated design features like the molded-in drop-down bed for accessories. The combination of performance engineering and aesthetic attention to detail makes it distinctive in the competitive crawling market. Additionally, the single-piece construction reduces weight compared to some alternatives, which can translate to improved performance on challenging terrain.
- Is this body street-legal or competition-focused? — This is explicitly designed for competition crawling, with every aspect engineered to meet Class 2 and Class 3 competition regulations whilst maximising performance. It's perfect for competitive events, but equally effective for recreational rock crawling. The competition-focused design actually benefits recreational users by providing excellent approach and departure angles for tackling challenging natural terrain.
- How long does the painting and customisation process take? — The actual painting time depends on your experience level and paint application method, typically ranging from 1-3 hours for a basic paint job. The included paint-then-peel overspray film means you don't need to spend additional time on masking, saving significant preparation time compared to traditional painting methods. Decal application and final assembly onto your chassis adds another 30-60 minutes.
- Can I use acrylic paint on polycarbonate bodies? — Polycarbonate RC body paint (specifically formulated for polycarbonate shells) is recommended for the best results and durability. These paints adhere properly to polycarbonate and won't peel or chip as readily as general-purpose acrylics. Many UK RC retailers stock appropriate polycarbonate body paints in various colours.
- Does this body include any electronic components? — No. This is a body shell only—it contains no motors, ESCs, servo, or electronic components whatsoever. It's purely a polycarbonate shell with included decals, window mask, and overspray film. You simply paint it and mount it on your existing crawler chassis.
