Overview

The BLH Tail Belt for the Blade 270 CFX and Fusion 270 is an essential replacement component designed to keep your RC helicopter performing at its peak. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast flying competitively or a hobbyist enjoying weekend flights, a worn or damaged tail belt can significantly impact your helicopter's stability and control responsiveness. This genuine Blade spare part ensures authentic compatibility and reliable performance, making it an ideal choice for anyone maintaining their RC helicopter fleet in the UK.

As a critical drivetrain component, the tail belt transmits power from the main motor assembly to the tail rotor mechanism, directly influencing your helicopter's yaw control and overall flight dynamics. When your current tail belt shows signs of wear, slipping, or degradation, replacing it with an OEM Blade part guarantees you're maintaining factory specifications and performance standards. This is particularly important if you've experienced any unusual tail wobble, reduced responsiveness to tail commands, or visible fraying on your existing belt.

RC Model Shop stocks this genuine Blade component alongside a comprehensive range of 270 CFX and Fusion 270 spares, ensuring you can access everything needed for repairs, maintenance, and performance upgrades without sourcing parts from multiple retailers across the UK.

Key Features

  • Genuine Blade OEM Component — This is an authentic Blade spare part, not an aftermarket alternative, which means it meets the exact specifications and tolerances that your 270 CFX or Fusion 270 helicopter was engineered to use, guaranteeing reliable power transmission to the tail rotor.
  • Perfect Compatibility — Engineered specifically for the Blade 270 CFX and Fusion 270 models, this tail belt integrates seamlessly into your helicopter's drivetrain without requiring modifications or adaptations to mounting points or drive systems.
  • Critical Tail Control Component — The tail belt is fundamental to maintaining responsive yaw control and stable hover characteristics, directly affecting your ability to command precise tail movements during flight operations.
  • Easy Installation — Designed for straightforward replacement, allowing you to restore your helicopter to operational status quickly without requiring specialised tools or advanced mechanical knowledge, making it ideal for field repairs during flying sessions.
  • Long-Term Reliability — Genuine Blade belts are manufactured to strict quality standards, resisting premature wear, slipping, and degradation better than budget alternatives, which extends service life and reduces the frequency of replacements.
  • Part of Comprehensive Spares Ecosystem — Available alongside other Blade 270 CFX and Fusion 270 components including mainshaft assemblies, tail pushrods, servo linkages, and feathering mechanisms, allowing you to source complete repair solutions from a single trusted UK retailer.

Technical Performance

The tail belt operates within a precisely engineered power transmission system that converts rotational energy from the main motor into tail rotor control. As a component designed for the Blade 270 CFX and Fusion 270 helicopters, this belt must withstand continuous high-speed rotation, maintain consistent tension, and resist stretch or degradation that could compromise yaw authority. The genuine Blade specification ensures the belt features appropriate tensioning characteristics to work in harmony with the tail tensioner assembly (sold separately), maintaining optimal drive efficiency across varying flight conditions. When properly installed and tensioned using the dedicated tail belt tensioner designed for this helicopter model, the belt delivers responsive tail rotor control essential for stable hovering, smooth directional changes, and precise manoeuvres. The engineering tolerances built into genuine Blade components mean this belt integrates perfectly with the tail gearbox, servo linkages, and pitch control mechanisms that define the 270 CFX and Fusion 270's flight characteristics. Unlike stretched or worn belts that cause mushy tail response and reduced control precision, a fresh OEM belt restores the snappy, predictable tail authority these helicopter models are known for, whether you're flying indoors in a UK gymnasium or outdoors in calm conditions.

What's in the Box

What You Need to Complete

  • Tail Belt Tensioner (BLH5323) — Required to properly tension the tail belt and maintain optimal drive characteristics and tail rotor responsiveness
  • RC Helicopter Maintenance Tools — Small tools may be helpful for belt installation and adjustment, though the replacement process is designed to be straightforward

Frequently Asked Questions

  • When should I replace the tail belt on my Blade 270 CFX or Fusion 270? — Replace the tail belt if you notice sluggish tail response, visible fraying or cracking on the existing belt, tail wobble or instability during hovering, or reduced yaw control authority. A stretched or worn belt will feel mushy and unresponsive compared to a fresh OEM component, noticeably affecting your helicopter's handling characteristics.
  • How often do tail belts typically need replacement? — Tail belt lifespan depends on flight frequency, environmental conditions, and maintenance practices. Regular flyers may need to replace their tail belt annually or every 50-100 flight hours, whilst casual hobbyists might go several seasons between replacements. Storing your helicopter in a cool, dry environment and avoiding extreme UV exposure extends belt life significantly.
  • Is the Blade tail belt difficult to install? — The tail belt is designed for straightforward replacement without requiring specialised tools or advanced mechanical skills. The installation process involves removing the tail boom cover, unbolting or unclipping the old belt from the drive pulley and tail gearbox, threading the new belt into position, and then adjusting tension using the dedicated tensioner. Most RC helicopter enthusiasts can complete the replacement in 15-30 minutes.
  • Do I need the tail belt tensioner to install this belt? — Yes, proper tensioning is critical to performance. The Blade Tail Belt Tensioner (BLH5323) is specifically designed to maintain the correct belt tension, ensuring optimal power transmission and responsive tail control. Without proper tensioning, the belt may slip, stretch prematurely, or cause unpredictable tail behaviour during flight.
  • Will this tail belt fit my specific Blade helicopter model? — This tail belt is engineered specifically for the Blade 270 CFX and Fusion 270 models. If you own a different scale or model within the Blade helicopter range (such as a 450 or 300), you'll need a different belt designed for that specific helicopter. Always check your helicopter's model number and refer to the parts diagram in your manual to ensure compatibility.
  • Is this a genuine Blade part or a compatible third-party alternative? — This is a genuine OEM Blade component manufactured to exact factory specifications, not an aftermarket or compatible alternative. Authentic Blade parts guarantee precise tolerances, correct material properties, and reliable compatibility with your helicopter's drivetrain, which budget alternatives cannot always deliver.
