Key Features
- Genuine Blade Component — These are authentic, manufacturer-approved parts designed and produced by Blade, ensuring complete compatibility with your Blade 230 or Blade 300 X helicopter and maintaining the integrity of your rotor system.
- Flight-Critical Component — Main rotor blade grips are essential to safe helicopter operation, holding your main rotor blades securely in place whilst allowing precise pitch and feathering control for responsive flight dynamics.
- Durable Construction — Built to withstand the rotational forces and vibrations generated during normal helicopter operation, these grips maintain their integrity through repeated flight cycles and demanding flying conditions.
- Easy Replacement — Designed for straightforward installation and removal, allowing you to perform routine maintenance and repairs quickly without requiring specialised tools or extensive technical knowledge.
- Compatible with Multiple Models — These grips fit both the Blade 230 and Blade 300 X helicopters, making them a versatile spare part for pilots operating either model in their fleet.
- Prevents Blade Slippage — The grips secure your main rotor blades with consistent clamping force, preventing any rotational slippage that could cause blade tracking issues and compromise flight stability.
Technical Performance
The Blade Main Rotor Blade Grips are precision-manufactured components engineered to exacting tolerances that meet Blade's quality standards. These grips form the interface between your helicopter's rotor head and main rotor blades, experiencing significant rotational forces and vibration during normal flight operation. The design ensures consistent, secure blade retention whilst maintaining the precise blade geometry and pitch control necessary for stable, predictable flight characteristics. Like all Blade components, these grips are subject to wear and fatigue from operational stress, making them a consumable maintenance item that should be inspected regularly and replaced when signs of damage, cracking, or looseness are detected. The grips work in conjunction with other main rotor head components such as the main grip bearing kit (separately available as BLH4504) and blade mounting screws (BLH4503) to create a complete, functional rotor assembly. Proper maintenance of these components is essential for safe helicopter operation and optimal aerodynamic performance. When replacing blade grips as part of a crash-repair operation, Blade's engineering experts recommend replacing critical pairs together to ensure balanced rotor performance and prevent vibration issues.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these main rotor blade grips suitable for beginners? — Yes, whilst main rotor blade grips are technical components, they are designed for straightforward replacement by RC helicopter operators of all skill levels. If you're new to helicopter maintenance, we recommend consulting your helicopter's instruction manual or contacting our team for guidance on proper installation and safety procedures.
- When should I replace my helicopter's main rotor blade grips? — Main rotor blade grips should be inspected regularly for signs of cracking, looseness, or damage. After a hard landing or crash, it's essential to check the blade grips for impact damage. Replace them immediately if you notice any visible cracks, deformation, or if the blades feel loose or unstable when manually rotated. Regular replacement during routine maintenance helps ensure consistent rotor performance.
- Can I use these grips with other helicopter models? — These blade grips are specifically designed for the Blade 230 and Blade 300 X helicopters. Always verify compatibility before purchasing spare parts, as using incompatible components could compromise your helicopter's safety and performance. If you're unsure whether these grips fit your model, our team at RC Model Shop can provide expert advice.
- What other components do I need to maintain my helicopter's main rotor system? — The complete main rotor assembly consists of several integrated components. In addition to these blade grips, you may need the main grip bearing kit (BLH4504), blade mounting screws and nuts (BLH4503), and main rotor dampeners (BLH4505) to maintain optimal rotor performance. Our comprehensive Blade 300 X spares selection includes all these components, making it easy to source everything you need for routine maintenance or crash repair.
- Is it necessary to replace blade grips in pairs? — Blade's engineering team recommends replacing flight-critical pairs, including main rotor blades and their associated grips, together. This ensures balanced rotor performance and prevents vibration issues that can result from mixing old and new components. If only one grip is damaged, we still recommend replacing both for optimal results.
- How do I know if my blade grips are damaged? — Common signs of blade grip damage include visible cracks or splintering, looseness when you manually attempt to rotate the blades, or vibration in the rotor head during flight. After any hard landing or crash, inspect the grips for impact damage even if the blades themselves appear undamaged. Early detection and replacement prevents secondary damage to other rotor components.
