Key Features

  • Genuine OEM Blade Component — These bearings carry the official Blade brand and part number BLH-1668, confirming they are original equipment manufacturer parts designed specifically for Blade helicopters rather than third-party alternatives, ensuring guaranteed compatibility and performance.
  • Flanged Ball Bearing Design — The flanged construction provides radial and axial load support, which is essential for helicopter rotor and drivetrain applications where both lateral and end-thrust forces are present during flight.
  • Precision 6x13x5mm Dimensions — The specific size of 6x13x5mm is engineered to fit exact bearing locations within Blade 450 and FS270 airframe assemblies, ensuring proper clearances and performance characteristics.
  • Set of Four Bearings — This package contains four individual 6x13x5mm flanged ball bearings, allowing you to replace multiple worn bearings in one maintenance session or maintain spare inventory for future needs.
  • Smooth, Precise Running — These bearings are manufactured to tight tolerances that minimise friction and wear, directly contributing to smooth helicopter operation, responsive control inputs, and extended flight times between maintenance intervals.

Technical Performance

The Blade 6x13x5mm Flanged Ball Bearing set represents precision engineering at the component level. Flanged ball bearings function by using hardened steel balls held within a race assembly, with flanges providing both radial and axial support. In RC helicopter applications, these bearings support rotor shafts, swashplate assemblies and drivetrain components that experience continuous rotational forces during flight. The 6x13x5mm specification indicates an inner diameter of 6mm, outer diameter of 13mm, and width of 5mm—dimensions that are critical for proper fit within Blade 450 FS270 design specifications. The flanged design is particularly important in helicopters, where vertical thrust forces and lateral loads during manoeuvres place demands on bearing assemblies. By choosing genuine Blade-branded bearings rather than generic alternatives, you ensure that the engineering tolerances, material specifications and quality control standards match the original equipment, maximising the lifespan of your RC helicopter and maintaining the precision control characteristics you expect. These bearings require no special tools or expertise to install—simply remove worn bearings from their mounting locations and press the new units into place, making routine maintenance accessible to RC helicopter owners of all skill levels.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What RC helicopter models are compatible with Blade BLH-1668 bearings? — The Blade 6x13x5mm flanged ball bearing set is designed for Blade 450 and FS270 helicopter models. These specific models use the 6x13x5mm bearing size in multiple locations throughout their rotor assemblies and drivetrain. Always verify your specific model against the part number before ordering to ensure compatibility.
  • How often should I replace bearings in my RC helicopter? — Bearing replacement intervals depend on flight frequency, maintenance practices and flying conditions. As a general rule, inspect bearings regularly for smoothness of rotation and signs of grinding or resistance. If you notice any hesitation or friction during normal helicopter operation, it is time to replace the bearings. Many RC pilots replace bearings annually as part of seasonal maintenance, whilst others may go longer depending on use.
  • Are these genuine Blade parts or aftermarket alternatives? — These are genuine OEM Blade parts, confirmed by the official Blade part number BLH-1668 and Blade branding. Genuine parts ensure the engineering specifications, material quality and manufacturing standards match your helicopter's original design, providing better performance and reliability than generic aftermarket bearings.
  • What tools do I need to install these bearings? — Installation typically requires a bearing press or careful manual installation depending on the specific bearing location in your helicopter. Consult your Blade 450 or FS270 manual for detailed removal and installation procedures. If you are uncertain about installation, our team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance or recommend a local RC specialist for professional installation.
  • How many bearings come in this set? — This set includes four individual 6x13x5mm flanged ball bearings, allowing you to replace multiple worn bearings or maintain spare components for future maintenance sessions.
  • Why should I choose flanged ball bearings for my helicopter? — Flanged bearings provide both radial support (side-to-side loads) and axial support (end thrust), which is essential in RC helicopters where rotor forces create multidirectional loads. Flanged designs prevent axial movement and ensure proper alignment during operation, maintaining the precision control characteristics your helicopter requires.
