Overview

The PRB Flex Shaft for the Pro Boat Recoil 2 26 is an essential replacement component designed to keep your RC speedboat performing at its best. This genuine Pro Boat spare part is engineered to fit the Pro Boat Recoil 2 26 Deep-V hull perfectly, ensuring reliable power transmission from your motor to the propeller. Whether you are a seasoned RC boat enthusiast in the UK or just getting started with brushless RC speedboat racing, maintaining your drivetrain with quality replacement parts is crucial for consistent performance on the water.

Regular maintenance of your RC boat's flex shaft is vital for long-term reliability and optimal speed. Over time, flex shafts can wear, corrode or develop play in the bearings, which directly impacts handling and efficiency. By replacing your worn flex shaft with this genuine PRB component, you restore smooth power delivery and precise steering response. This is the same high-quality part used in factory-built Pro Boat Recoil 2 26 models, giving you complete confidence in fitment and durability.

At RC Model Shop, we stock a comprehensive range of Pro Boat Recoil 2 26 spares and upgrades to keep your speedboat running at peak performance. From hull and canopy items to drivetrain and steering components, we hold extensive UK inventory so you can repair, refresh or fine-tune your boat with ease. Our knowledgeable team are on hand to provide expert advice on compatibility and setup for all your RC speedboat maintenance needs.

Key Features

  • Genuine Pro Boat Component — This is an authentic OEM replacement part manufactured by Pro Boat, ensuring perfect compatibility with the Recoil 2 26 without modification or fitment issues. Using genuine spares protects your investment and maintains the performance characteristics your boat was designed for.
  • Critical Drivetrain Component — The flex shaft is responsible for transmitting rotational power from the brushless motor to the propeller, making it essential to overall boat performance. A worn or damaged flex shaft will cause vibration, noise, reduced speed and poor handling in the water.
  • Direct Replacement Part — Specifically engineered for the Pro Boat Recoil 2 26 Deep-V hull, this flex shaft requires no modification and drops directly into place, restoring your drivetrain to factory specifications and performance standards.
  • Part of Complete Maintenance Programme — Pro Boat recommends regular greasing of the flex shaft using marine-grade lubricant (such as the RAO9330 propshaft grease available separately) to extend component life and prevent corrosion in saltwater environments.
  • Durable Construction — Built to withstand the rigorous demands of high-speed RC boating, this flex shaft is engineered to handle the torque output of brushless RC motors whilst maintaining smooth, vibration-free operation throughout extended boating sessions.

Technical Performance

The PRB Flex Shaft is engineered as a precision drivetrain component for the Pro Boat Recoil 2 26, a high-performance brushless RC speedboat designed for deep-water running and competitive racing. The Recoil 2 26 platform features a 26-inch hull powered by professional-grade brushless propulsion, water cooling systems and advanced steering geometry that demands a robust, reliable flex shaft to transmit power efficiently. This component must handle the full torque output of the brushless motor whilst maintaining concentricity and balance to prevent cavitation and vibration at high speeds. The flex shaft interfaces with the motor coupler on one end and the propeller strut assembly on the other, making precise engineering essential. Regular maintenance with marine-grade propshaft grease keeps the flex shaft operating smoothly and extends component life significantly, particularly when boating in saltwater or brackish conditions where corrosion is a concern. This genuine replacement ensures your Recoil 2 26 maintains factory performance specifications and reliability standards expected from Pro Boat's professional-grade RC speedboat designs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the PRB Flex Shaft compatible with all Pro Boat Recoil models? — This flex shaft is specifically engineered for the Pro Boat Recoil 2 26 Deep-V hull. Pro Boat manufactures different hull sizes and variants, each with their own drivetrain specifications. Always verify that you are ordering the correct component for your specific model number before purchasing. Our knowledgeable team can help you identify the right part if you are unsure.
  • How often should I replace the flex shaft on my RC speedboat? — The flex shaft typically lasts for many seasons of regular boating with proper maintenance. However, if you notice vibration, grinding noises, reduced speed, or visible wear and corrosion, replacement is recommended. Most RC boat enthusiasts in the UK find that annual inspection and greasing keeps their flex shaft in good condition for several years.
  • What is the difference between a flex shaft and a drive shaft in RC boats? — The flex shaft is the rotating component that transmits power from the motor to the propeller strut assembly. It must flex slightly to accommodate minor misalignment whilst remaining perfectly balanced to prevent vibration at high RPM. Unlike rigid shafts, flex shafts contain internal elements that allow this slight flexing action, making them ideal for performance RC speedboats.
  • Can I use this flex shaft with other Pro Boat Recoil 2 models? — This part is specifically engineered for the Recoil 2 26 hull size and configuration. Pro Boat also manufactures the Pro Boat Recoil 2 V2 26 Brushless Deep-V variant, which may have different specifications. Always check your model number and contact our expert team to confirm compatibility before ordering.
  • How do I maintain the flex shaft on my RC boat? — Regular maintenance extends flex shaft life significantly. Rinse your boat with fresh water after each boating session, allow it to dry completely, and periodically apply marine-grade propshaft grease to the flex shaft bearings. We stock RAO9330 Propshaft Grease specifically formulated for RC boat drivetrains. Avoid running your boat at full throttle continuously, as this accelerates wear.
  • What should I do if my flex shaft makes grinding or squeaking noises? — These sounds typically indicate worn bearings, corrosion, or insufficient lubrication. Stop operating your boat immediately and inspect the flex shaft for damage. Replacement is recommended if damage is visible. Apply fresh propshaft grease to the bearings and test; if noise persists, order a replacement flex shaft from RC Model Shop.
