Overview
The ARRMA Shock Springs: 95mm 1.08N/mm (6.17lb/in) represent essential suspension tuning components for dedicated RC enthusiasts in the UK who want to fine-tune their vehicle's handling characteristics and performance on the track or trail. Whether you're running an ARRMA 1/10 Kraton 4S or Outcast 4S brushless speed truck, these precision-engineered shock springs allow you to adjust your suspension geometry in seconds, giving you the competitive edge you need to optimise your RC car's behaviour across different terrain and driving conditions. This is a genuine ARRMA part designed to work seamlessly with your existing suspension setup, delivering consistent performance that serious bashers and racers rely on.
Shock springs are fundamental to any RC car's suspension system, directly influencing how your vehicle responds to bumps, corners and acceleration. The 95mm length combined with the 1.08N/mm spring rate (6.17lb/in) provides a balanced setup that suits a wide range of driving styles and track conditions. By investing in quality replacement springs or alternative rates, you gain the ability to soften or stiffen your suspension geometry without purchasing an entirely new shock absorber assembly, making this one of the most cost-effective upgrades available to RC car UK enthusiasts.
These shock springs come supplied as a pair, allowing you to replace both front or both rear springs simultaneously, ensuring consistent handling characteristics across your vehicle's suspension. Whether you're a weekend basher looking to improve your off-road RC truck's comfort and stability, or a competitive racer seeking to dial in the perfect suspension tune for championship performance, these ARRMA-branded springs deliver the quality and reliability that comes from the manufacturer's own parts catalogue.
Key Features
- Precision manufactured spring steel — These shock springs are crafted from high-quality spring steel that has been precision-engineered to deliver consistent performance over thousands of kilometres of use, ensuring your vehicle maintains predictable handling characteristics even after extended driving sessions.
- Consistent performance and long-lasting durability — The manufacturing process guarantees that both springs in the pair deliver identical spring rates, so your RC car's suspension behaves symmetrically and your tuning adjustments are accurate and repeatable every time you adjust your setup.
- Supplied as a pair — Each pack includes two shock springs, allowing you to replace a complete suspension corner or make symmetrical adjustments across your vehicle without needing to purchase multiple packs.
- 95mm length specification — This length is specifically designed to fit ARRMA 1/10 scale models including the Kraton 4X4 4S and Outcast 4X4 4S brushless RC trucks, ensuring perfect fitment and suspension geometry when installed.
- 1.08N/mm spring rate (6.17lb/in) — This spring rate provides moderate stiffness that balances responsiveness with comfort, making it suitable for general-purpose driving, bashing and racing applications where you want good grip without an overly harsh ride.
- Genuine ARRMA manufacturer part — As an official ARRMA component, these springs carry the quality assurance and design verification of the brand, giving you confidence that you're purchasing parts engineered to work perfectly with your vehicle.
- Quick and easy suspension tuning — Swapping shock springs is one of the fastest ways to adjust your vehicle's handling characteristics without needing special tools or technical expertise, making it accessible to RC enthusiasts of all experience levels.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Shock Springs represent the engineering standard that ARRMA applies to all its OEM suspension components. At 95mm in length with a spring constant of 1.08N/mm (equivalently rated at 6.17lb/in in imperial measurements), these springs deliver a suspension tune that suits a broad spectrum of driving conditions and styles. The spring rate sits in the moderate range for 1/10 scale RC vehicles, meaning it resists compression with moderate force—neither so stiff that your ready to run RC truck bounces uncontrollably over obstacles, nor so soft that the chassis bottoms out under aggressive acceleration or landing jumps. The precision manufacturing process ensures both springs in the pair exhibit identical characteristics, a critical requirement for balanced vehicle behaviour. The high-quality spring steel construction resists fatigue and permanent deformation, maintaining consistent spring rates throughout the product's lifespan even when subjected to the repeated shock loads typical of RC car UK racing and bashing applications. These springs are engineered to integrate seamlessly with ARRMA's shock bodies and suspension geometry, requiring no modifications or adaptations—simply remove your existing springs and install these replacements to immediately alter your vehicle's suspension behaviour. The colour-coded markings on genuine ARRMA springs make it easy to identify spring rates at a glance, allowing you to maintain consistent setups when switching between multiple vehicles or comparing different tuning configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the spring rate and why does it matter for my RC car? — The spring rate of 1.08N/mm (6.17lb/in) determines how much force is required to compress the spring by one millimetre. A higher spring rate means a stiffer suspension that resists compression more strongly, whilst a lower rate means a softer suspension that compresses more easily. This particular rate provides a balanced middle-ground suitable for most driving styles, but experienced RC enthusiasts often keep springs of different rates on hand to fine-tune their vehicle for specific tracks or conditions.
- Will these springs fit my ARRMA RC truck? — Yes, these 95mm springs are designed to fit ARRMA 1/10 scale models including the Kraton 4S and Outcast 4S brushless RC vehicles. Always verify the exact model and generation of your vehicle before purchasing, as different ARRMA models may use springs of different lengths and rates. The compatible models listed above show exactly which vehicles these springs work with.
- How do I know when my shock springs need replacing? — Shock springs can lose their spring rate over time due to metal fatigue from repeated compression and extension cycles. If your vehicle suddenly feels softer or bottoms out more easily than before, or if your suspension feels unbalanced between corners, your springs may have lost their temper and should be replaced with fresh springs to restore your vehicle's handling characteristics.
- What's the difference between spring rate measurements like 1.08N/mm and 6.17lb/in? — These are two different ways of expressing the same spring rate using different units. 1.08N/mm is the metric measurement (Newtons per millimetre of compression), whilst 6.17lb/in is the imperial measurement (pounds per inch of compression). They represent identical spring stiffness; the metric rating is simply expressed in different units.
- Can I use these springs for racing or just bashing? — These ARRMA springs are suitable for both racing and bashing applications. Many RC racers use these springs in their competition setups, whilst weekend bashers appreciate their reliable performance and durability during high-impact driving. The versatility of the 1.08N/mm rate makes these a popular choice for multi-purpose driving.
- Should I replace both springs at the same time? — Yes, for best results you should replace springs in pairs (both fronts or both rears) so that both sides of your vehicle use springs with identical rates. This ensures balanced and predictable suspension behaviour. If only one spring has failed, replacing just one will cause your vehicle to sit unevenly and handle unpredictably.
