Overview

The ARRMA Shock Springs: 95mm 0.94N/mm (5.37lb/in) are essential suspension components designed for RC car tuning and performance optimisation. This pair of precision-engineered shock springs allows you to adjust your vehicle's handling characteristics quickly and easily, making them ideal for both recreational bashers and serious RC enthusiasts in the UK. Whether you're fine-tuning your 1/10 scale RC truck for weekend fun or preparing for competitive racing, these shock springs offer the flexibility you need to dial in the perfect suspension setup for any terrain or driving style.

ARRMA has built a reputation for manufacturing high-quality RC components that deliver consistent performance and reliability, and these shock springs are no exception. Supplied as a complete pair, they come ready to install on compatible ARRMA models including the 1/10 KRATON 4S 4X4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck and the 1/10 OUTCAST 4S 4X4 RTR Brushless Stunt Truck. For anyone serious about getting the most from their ready to run RC car UK, upgrading or replacing worn shock springs is one of the most cost-effective performance modifications available.

These replacement springs represent genuine ARRMA parts manufactured to original equipment standards, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility with your RC vehicle. The ability to swap springs in seconds means you can experiment with different spring rates to match changing track conditions, weather, or your personal driving preferences without major disassembly or complicated tuning procedures.

Key Features

  • Precision Manufactured Spring Steel — Crafted from high-quality spring steel, these shock springs are manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure consistent performance throughout their lifespan. The precision construction means the springs maintain their rate characteristics over thousands of compression and extension cycles, providing reliable and predictable handling performance every time you drive. This engineering quality is essential for maintaining consistent lap times and vehicle response.
  • Supplied as a Pair — This package includes two shock springs, giving you a complete set ready for installation on your RC vehicle. Having both springs ensures balanced suspension geometry and even weight distribution across your chassis, which is critical for achieving neutral handling characteristics and maximising traction during acceleration, braking, and cornering.
  • 95mm Length — The 95mm dimension is the physical length of each uncompressed spring, designed specifically to fit the shock bodies on compatible ARRMA models. This dimension ensures proper ride height, suspension travel, and geometry alignment when installed, which directly affects how your RC car handles over bumps, jumps, and during aggressive driving manoeuvres.
  • 0.94N/mm Spring Rate (5.37lb/in) — The spring rate of 0.94N/mm or 5.37 pounds per inch determines how stiff or soft the suspension feels. This moderate spring rate provides a balanced setup suitable for mixed terrain and general driving, offering a good compromise between responsiveness and ride comfort. Stiffer springs (higher rate) will make your vehicle more responsive but potentially less forgiving over rough surfaces, whilst softer springs provide a smoother ride but may lack the precision needed for aggressive cornering.
  • Direct Fitment for Popular ARRMA Models — These shock springs are listed as standard parts for the ARRMA KRATON 4S and OUTCAST 4S models, ensuring guaranteed compatibility and perfect fitment without modification or adaptation. Using genuine ARRMA parts eliminates guesswork and ensures your vehicle will perform exactly as designed by the manufacturer.
  • Easy Installation and Tuning — Shock spring replacement is one of the quickest suspension modifications you can make to your RC car. By simply removing the old springs and installing new ones in seconds, you can immediately experience how different spring rates affect handling, allowing rapid experimentation and optimisation without requiring tools or technical expertise.

Technical Performance

These ARRMA shock springs represent the engineering excellence that the brand has become known for in the RC hobby. The 0.94N/mm (5.37lb/in) spring rate sits in the mid-range of stiffness, making it suitable for a wide variety of driving conditions and skill levels. The 95mm length is precisely engineered to work with the shock bodies fitted to 1/10 scale ARRMA trucks, maintaining optimal suspension geometry and ride height. The use of precision-manufactured spring steel ensures that the springs maintain their rate characteristics consistently, avoiding the performance degradation that can occur with lower-quality materials over extended use. For brushless RC models like the KRATON 4S and OUTCAST 4S that deliver high-speed performance and responsive handling, having quality suspension components is absolutely critical. The stiffness of your shock springs directly influences how energy from the ground is transferred through the chassis, affecting everything from traction and cornering speed to the stability of the vehicle during jumps and landing impacts. When matched with the right shock fluid viscosity and damping characteristics, these springs help create a suspension system that is both forgiving during casual driving and precise enough for competitive racing applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will these shock springs fit my ARRMA RC truck? — These springs are confirmed as standard parts for the ARRMA 1/10 KRATON 4S 4X4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck and the ARRMA 1/10 OUTCAST 4S 4X4 RTR Brushless Stunt Truck. If you own either of these models, these springs are a direct fit with no modification required. For other ARRMA models, we recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting our team at RC Model Shop to confirm compatibility before ordering.
  • What is the difference between spring rates, and which should I choose? — Spring rate is measured in N/mm (Newtons per millimetre) or lb/in (pounds per inch). The 0.94N/mm (5.37lb/in) rate of these springs represents a moderate stiffness suitable for general driving and mixed terrain. Softer springs (lower numbers) provide a more compliant ride and better traction over rough terrain but may feel less responsive, whilst stiffer springs (higher numbers) offer more precise handling and responsiveness but a harsher ride. Your choice depends on your terrain, driving style, and track conditions. Many experienced drivers keep multiple spring sets to tune their vehicles for different conditions.
  • How do shock springs affect my RC car's handling? — Shock springs are fundamental suspension components that control how quickly the chassis compresses and extends over bumps and during dynamic manoeuvres. Stiffer springs keep the chassis higher and respond more quickly to changes in terrain, ideal for high-speed driving and smooth tracks. Softer springs allow more suspension travel and better shock absorption, suitable for rough terrain and high-speed jumps. The spring rate directly influences traction, cornering grip, stability during acceleration and braking, and overall driveability of your RC vehicle.
  • Are these original ARRMA parts? — Yes, these are genuine ARRMA parts manufactured to original equipment specifications. RC Model Shop is an authorised ARRMA retailer, and we stock only authentic products with full manufacturer support and warranty. Using genuine parts ensures perfect fitment, optimal performance, and compatibility with your vehicle.
  • How often should I replace my shock springs? — Shock springs have an extremely long lifespan when properly cared for. They typically only require replacement when they become damaged, lose their rate characteristics due to metal fatigue, or when you wish to change your vehicle's handling by switching to a different spring rate. Regular inspection during maintenance is recommended, particularly if you notice changes in your vehicle's handling or ride height.
  • Can I use different spring rates on the front and rear of my vehicle? — Many RC drivers do use different spring rates front and rear to fine-tune handling balance. For example, you might use stiffer springs at the rear for better traction during acceleration and softer springs at the front for improved grip during cornering. Experimenting with different combinations is a key part of RC car tuning, and having multiple spring sets available allows rapid testing to find your optimal setup.
