Overview

This is a pair of Buck Shot 1:8 Buggy Tires. The Buck Shot debuted at the 2017 ROAR National Championships and is already a Winner at the hands Pro-Line Team Driver Ty Tessmann! The Buck Shot has pins that are very close in size to the amazing Hole Shot 2.0 but the Buck Shot pins are stacked closer together side to side, which provides significantly longer lasting performance. Unique to the Buck Shot are the alternating elongated bars that provide incredible forward grip! Similar to the extremely popular SwitchBlade tire, the Buck Shot is a directional tire with different tread on the outside compared to the inside, allowing you to mount the tires in the direction that suits your current track conditions. One side of the tire has standard pins, which is ideal for loose or low traction conditions where you want the tire to add side grip and improve steering. When you mount the tire the other direction, the connected side tread (Blade) reduces side traction in high-bite or edgy conditions. Racers who have tried the Buck Shot are saying that it is their new favorite tire! Be the first at your track to win with Pro-Line's new Buck Shot!

Overview

The Pro-Line 1/8 Buck Shot M4 Front/Rear Off-Road Buggy Tyres represent a significant advancement in 1/8 scale RC buggy tyre technology, designed for serious racers and enthusiasts who demand durability, grip and consistent performance across varying track conditions. These professional-grade tyres debuted at the 2017 ROAR National Championships and have already established themselves as winners in the hands of Pro-Line Team Driver Ty Tessmann. Whether you're competing at your local track or enjoying weekend bashing with your 1/8 scale RC buggy, the Buck Shot M4 tyres deliver the exceptional performance you need to stay competitive. For anyone searching for premium RC tyres UK or looking to upgrade their off-road buggy setup, these Pro-Line tyres offer the perfect balance of grip, durability and versatility.

What sets the Buck Shot apart from other 1/8 buggy tyres is the innovative engineering that combines proven pin-style tread with extended durability. The pins are similar in size to the legendary Hole Shot 2.0, yet they are stacked closer together side to side, which provides significantly longer-lasting performance without sacrificing the initial bite and traction that makes Pro-Line tyres the choice of champions. Racers across the UK and beyond who have tested the Buck Shot consistently report that it has become their new favourite tyre. The M4 designation indicates this is the medium compound version, offering excellent grip on low-bite surfaces whilst maintaining compliance through the carcass for superior traction control and reduced expansion.

These tyres are lab-certified with Pro-Line's Select Compounds technology, ensuring maximum consistency and performance across every set you purchase. The combination of proven materials and meticulous quality control means you can rely on the Buck Shot for predictable, repeatable performance lap after lap, race after race. Each pair comes complete with two closed-cell foam inserts, ready to install on your 1/8 scale buggy.

Key Features

  • National Championship Proven Design — The Buck Shot debuted at the 2017 ROAR National Championships and won immediately, proving its capability against the best competition in the sport. This track-tested pedigree ensures you're using tyres designed and validated by professional racers and engineers.
  • Extended Tread Life with Pin Construction — Although the pins are similar in size to the popular Hole Shot 2.0, the Buck Shot pins are stacked closer together side to side, which provides significantly longer-lasting performance. This means fewer tyre changes during long main events and better value for your investment.
  • Alternating Elongated Bars for Forward Grip — Unique to the Buck Shot design are the alternating elongated bars that provide incredible forward traction. This advanced tread pattern generates massive forward grip whilst the stacked pin construction maintains durability, creating a tyre that excels in acceleration and drive-off-the-line performance.
  • Directional SwitchBlade-Style Tread Design — Similar to the extremely popular SwitchBlade tyre, the Buck Shot is a directional tyre with different tread on the outside compared to the inside. This revolutionary feature allows you to mount the tyres in the direction that best suits your current track conditions, giving you unprecedented versatility from a single tyre model.
  • Dual Mounting Options for Different Conditions — When mounted with pins facing outward, the tyre adds side grip and improves steering in loose or low traction conditions. When mounted the opposite direction with the connected side tread (Blade) facing outward, it reduces side traction in high-bite or edgy conditions, allowing you to fine-tune your buggy's handling characteristics without changing tyres.
  • Lab-Certified Select Compounds — Pro-Line's rigorous testing and certification process ensures every set of Buck Shot tyres delivers consistent grip and performance. The Select Compounds technology maximises compound grip on low-bite surfaces whilst maintaining compliance in the carcass for controlled expansion and superior traction.
  • Medium Wear on Wet Surfaces — The M4 compound is engineered to perform reliably on wet track surfaces without excessive wear, making these tyres suitable for indoor and outdoor racing across changing weather conditions.
  • Closed-Cell Foam Inserts Included — Each pair of Buck Shot tyres comes complete with two closed-cell foam inserts that are ready to install, providing the proper support and response characteristics needed for optimal handling and performance on your 1/8 scale buggy.

Technical Performance

The Pro-Line Buck Shot M4 tyres represent cutting-edge engineering in 1/8 scale RC buggy tyre design. The M4 designation indicates a medium compound formulation that has been lab-certified to deliver maximum grip on low-bite surfaces whilst maintaining a compliant carcass that produces superior traction with controlled expansion. The tread construction features a unique combination of stacked pins and alternating elongated bars, creating a tyre that generates massive forward grip for acceleration whilst the closer stacking provides durability through extended racing sessions. The directional design allows drivers to optimise the tyre orientation based on track bite and conditions, with pins outward for loose surfaces and the blade-side configuration for high-bite edgy surfaces. Build quality is exemplary, reflecting Pro-Line's reputation as a premium tyre manufacturer utilised by professional racers worldwide. The closed-cell foam inserts provide the necessary support structure to maintain tyre shape and compliance, contributing to the overall performance envelope. Whether you're running these tyres at your local club track or competing at national championships, the Buck Shot M4 delivers the consistent, repeatable performance that separates champions from the rest of the field.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are the Pro-Line Buck Shot M4 tyres suitable for both front and rear of my 1/8 buggy? — Yes, the Buck Shot M4 is a versatile front/rear tyre designed to work on both ends of your 1/8 scale off-road buggy. This universal design saves you money by using the same tyre compound across your buggy whilst simplifying your pit inventory during races.
  • What is the difference between the Buck Shot and the Hole Shot 2.0? — While the Buck Shot features pins similar in size to the Hole Shot 2.0, the Buck Shot pins are stacked significantly closer together side to side, providing longer-lasting tread life. Additionally, the Buck Shot includes the unique directional SwitchBlade-style design with alternating elongated bars, allowing you to flip the tyres to suit different track conditions, a feature not available on the Hole Shot 2.0.
  • Can I use the Buck Shot on both wet and dry tracks? — The M4 compound is engineered to perform on both dry and wet surfaces with medium wear characteristics on wet terrain. The directional design also allows you to orient the tyres appropriately for conditions, making these tyres exceptionally versatile for indoor and outdoor racing across varying weather.
  • How do I use the directional mounting feature? — Mount the tyres with pins facing outward for loose or low-traction conditions, where they add side grip and improve steering response. Flip them around so the blade-side tread faces outward for high-bite or edgy surfaces, where the connected side tread reduces unwanted side traction and provides more linear handling.
  • What wheel sizes are compatible with Buck Shot tyres? — The Buck Shot M4 is designed for 1/8 scale buggies and requires standard 1/8 buggy wheels. You will also need the included closed-cell foam inserts to complete your tyres before installation.
  • Are these professional-grade racing tyres? — Absolutely. The Buck Shot was developed by Pro-Line Racing and proven at the 2017 ROAR National Championships, where they won with Team Driver Ty Tessmann. These are genuine professional competition tyres used by serious racers, though they are equally suitable for dedicated hobbyists who want top-tier performance.
