Overview
Pro-Line Racing has engineered the next generation of RC shock technology with their all-new Big Bore Scaler Shocks, specifically designed for 1/10 scale rock crawlers and RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand the very best in suspension performance. These are the best performing scale shocks Pro-Line has ever made, representing a significant leap forward in suspension technology for serious RC crawling. Whether you're tackling challenging terrain at your local RC club or pushing your crawler to its limits, these shocks deliver the performance and durability you need to stay competitive and in control.
The revolutionary design features a large bore measuring nearly 11mm, which allows these shocks to function correctly as true performance shocks due to the substantially larger oil volume housed within the shock body. This increased capacity means better damping control, smoother action over rough terrain, and more consistent performance across a wide range of driving conditions. The shocks are precision-engineered with CNC-machined aluminium components throughout, ensuring exacting tolerances that translate to reliable, repeatable performance every single time you take your RC car out.
If you're searching for high-quality RC suspension upgrades in the UK or looking to improve the handling of your 1/10 scale rock crawler, these Big Bore Scaler Shocks from Pro-Line are the upgrade you've been waiting for. They come mostly pre-assembled, so you simply add shock oil and you're ready to roll – making them an excellent choice for both experienced RC enthusiasts and those looking to significantly upgrade their current setup.
Key Features
- Big Bore Design Holds More Oil — The nearly 11mm bore allows significantly more oil volume inside the shock body, which dramatically improves performance by providing better damping characteristics, smoother operation, and more consistent response across varying terrain and driving intensities.
- CNC Machined Aluminium Construction — Every critical component including the shock caps, collars, bodies and bottom caps are precision-machined from aluminium to exacting tolerances, ensuring perfect fit, reliable performance and long-term durability that won't let you down in the field.
- Hard Chrome Coated Steel Shock Shafts — The shock shafts feature a durable hard chrome coating that resists corrosion, prevents wear and maintains smooth operation over extended use, protecting your investment and keeping your shocks performing at their peak.
- X-Ring Shaft Seals for Low Friction — Single X-Ring seals (replacement seals available as part number 6343-01) are used as the main shaft seal, providing exceptionally smooth, low friction action whilst effectively preventing oil leaks that could compromise performance.
- Pre-Assembled, Just Add Oil — These shocks come mostly pre-built and ready to install, saving you time and hassle – simply fill them with silicone shock oil and you're ready to hit the track or trail without complex assembly requirements.
- Dual-Rate Single Spring Design — An innovative all-new dual-rate spring design engineered from a single spring saves valuable space whilst delivering both incredible scale looks and outstanding performance that separates these shocks from the competition.
- Captured Lower Spring Perch — The lower spring perch is captured, meaning it stays exactly where it belongs during your adventures, eliminating the worry about loose components and ensuring consistent suspension geometry.
- Optional +5mm Shock Ends Included — Extra 5mm longer shock ends are included in the box, allowing you to increase the effective shock length from 90mm at full extension up to 95mm, giving you flexibility to tune your setup to your specific vehicle and driving style.
- Impressive Styling with Chrome and Black Anodising — The shocks feature an eye-catching combination of chrome and black anodising with a large Pro-Line logo engraved into the shock cap, ensuring your RC crawler looks as good as it performs.
- Optional Spring Assortment Available — If you want to fine-tune your suspension even further, softer and firmer dual-rate springs are available separately in the Big Bore Scaler Shock Spring Assortment (part number 6343-02), letting you dial in the perfect feel for your driving style.
- Designed for Popular Crawler Platforms — These shocks are engineered to fit many popular 1/10 scale rock crawler vehicles, making them a versatile upgrade option for a wide range of setups across the UK RC community.
Technical Performance
These Pro-Line Big Bore Scaler Shocks represent a quantum leap in suspension engineering for 1/10 scale RC crawlers. The large bore design is fundamentally different from standard shocks – the increased oil volume allows the shocks to perform as true performance dampers rather than basic suspension components. Every internal and external component is manufactured using precision CNC machining, with aluminium being used extensively throughout the construction for an optimal balance of strength and lightweight performance. The hard chrome-coated steel shock shafts provide exceptional durability whilst the X-Ring seals ensure that you maintain consistent damping characteristics without oil loss or performance degradation. At full extension, the shocks measure 90mm from top mounting hole to bottom mounting hole, and when the rubber bump stop is removed they collapse to approximately 64mm, providing a substantial range of motion for tackling obstacles and absorbing impacts. The engineering behind the dual-rate spring design is particularly noteworthy – by utilising a single spring that functions as a dual-rate system, Pro-Line has created a solution that takes up less space than traditional multi-spring designs whilst delivering superior performance and authentic scale appearance that appeals to serious crawling enthusiasts. The shocks arrive in the UK with everything you need except shock oil, representing excellent value for money when compared to aftermarket suspension upgrades from other manufacturers.
