Overview
The Team Losi Racing Flathead Screw, M3 x 16mm (10) Z-TLR5964 is an essential replacement hardware component for serious RC enthusiasts and competitive racers running Team Losi Racing 1/8 scale buggies. These genuine TLR flathead screws are specifically designed and manufactured for the TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 Race Kit, one of the fastest and best-handling 1/8 scale racing buggies available in the UK RC hobby market today. Whether you're a seasoned competitor preparing for the next race event or a dedicated weekend racer maintaining your pit box, these precision-engineered fasteners are essential for keeping your TLR RC buggy in peak racing condition.
In competitive RC racing, even the smallest components matter. Ordinary vibration from normal RC racing use, combined with the hard impacts from crashes and landings off jumps, can cause critical hardware to loosen over time. Most general hardware stores simply don't carry the specialised metric sizes required for modern RC racing vehicles like the TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0. That's where genuine Team Losi Racing replacement parts come in. These flathead screws are manufactured by Team Losi Racing specifically for TLR vehicles, ensuring perfect fitment and reliability that you can count on when the pressure is on during competition.
This pack includes 10 individual M3 x 16mm flathead screws, giving you spare hardware to maintain, repair and upgrade your 1/8 scale TLR buggy. By keeping quality replacement parts like these in your workshop and pit box, you'll always be prepared to make quick adjustments or repairs that keep your RC car competitive. The fasteners have been successfully track-tested by TLR factory drivers under genuine competition conditions, so you know they'll perform exactly as you need them to.
Key Features
- Genuine TLR Manufacturer Part — These screws are manufactured by Team Losi Racing specifically for their vehicles, ensuring precise engineering and perfect fitment on your TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 Race Kit, unlike generic aftermarket hardware that may cause fitment problems.
- M3 x 16mm Specification — The M3 x 16mm metric dimensions are the exact size required for critical applications on TLR 1/8 scale buggies, a size you won't find in standard hardware stores or general RC hobby suppliers.
- Flathead Design — The flathead profile sits flush with mounting surfaces, maintaining the clean engineering of your TLR buggy and preventing fasteners from catching on components during high-speed racing.
- Pack of 10 Screws — Each pack contains 10 individual screws, giving you enough spare parts to handle multiple repairs, maintenance checks, or to stock your pit box for race day emergencies.
- Factory Track-Tested — These parts have been used and successfully tested by Team Losi Racing factory drivers under genuine competition racing conditions, proving their reliability when it matters most.
- Essential Spare Part — For any serious RC racer running a TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0, spare fasteners are critical for keeping up with maintenance demands and ensuring your RC car stays race-ready at all times.
Technical Performance
The TLR Flathead Screw represents the kind of engineering attention to detail that makes Team Losi Racing vehicles so competitive in the 1/8 scale RC buggy racing category. The M3 x 16mm metric specification is precisely calculated for the assembly requirements of the TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 Race Kit, which has been thoroughly engineered for RC racing excellence in chassis design, drivetrain, and suspension geometry. These fasteners are manufactured to exact tolerances, ensuring consistent performance across all 10 screws in each pack. The flathead design is critical for maintaining the precise engineering that goes into a competition-grade 1/8 scale RC buggy, as protruding fastener heads can interfere with moving components and suspension geometry. Under the stress of ordinary vibration during RC racing, combined with the hard impacts from crashes and landings off jumps, every screw in your TLR buggy can gradually loosen. By using genuine Team Losi Racing replacement screws rather than generic alternatives, you maintain the exact fitment and tension specifications that TLR engineers designed into your buggy. The materials and manufacturing standards applied to these screws reflect the same quality standards used throughout the TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 Race Kit itself, giving you confidence that every component in your pit box meets competition-grade requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these screws compatible with other RC buggies or just TLR? — These screws are specifically manufactured by Team Losi Racing for their vehicles, particularly the TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 Race Kit. Whilst the M3 x 16mm metric size is standard across many RC brands, using genuine TLR parts ensures perfect fitment and performance characteristics for your TLR buggy.
- How often do I need to replace or tighten these fasteners? — In competitive RC racing, it's recommended to check all fasteners regularly before each race event, as vibration and impacts naturally cause hardware to gradually loosen over time. Many experienced racers tighten their RC buggy fasteners before each track session.
- Why should I buy genuine TLR screws instead of generic M3 x 16mm fasteners? — Genuine Team Losi Racing parts are manufactured to exact specifications and have been factory track-tested by TLR racing drivers under competition conditions. Generic fasteners may have slightly different tolerances, material quality, or surface finish, which could affect how they sit in TLR components and potentially impact performance.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — These fasteners are essential replacement parts for anyone building or maintaining a TLR 8IGHT-X/E 2.0 Race Kit. Beginners should have a good understanding of RC buggy assembly basics, as correctly torquing fasteners is important for safe operation. If you're new to RC cars, consider learning proper fastener installation techniques from experienced RC enthusiasts.
- Will 10 screws be enough for my pit box? — For most repairs and maintenance sessions, 10 screws provides a good supply. However, serious competitors who race frequently may wish to stock multiple packs to ensure they always have spares available for race day emergencies.
- What is the difference between flathead and button head screws for RC buggies? — Flathead screws sit flush with mounting surfaces, making them ideal for applications where protruding fastener heads would interfere with moving components or suspension geometry. Button head screws have a rounded top that protrudes further, making them suitable for applications where flush installation isn't required.
