Overview

The Team Losi Racing Machined Shock Pistons, Thin 1.6 1.7 Split G3 (2) represent precision engineering at its finest for competitive RC car UK enthusiasts. These genuine TLR replacement parts are specifically designed for the acclaimed TLR 22X-4 ELITE 1/10 scale 4WD RC buggy, a vehicle that carries the pedigree of ROAR National Championship success. Whether you are a seasoned racer pushing your buggy to the limit on dirt and clay tracks, or an experienced hobbyist maintaining your competition-grade setup, these machined shock pistons deliver the fine-tuning capability essential for podium-worthy performance.

As part of Team Losi Racing's comprehensive shock system components, these thin-profile pistons offer critical adjustment options for shock damping characteristics on your 1/10 RC buggy. The G3 shock architecture featured in the TLR 22X-4 ELITE represents the same professional-level design trusted by TLR Factory Team drivers worldwide. These machined shock pistons are manufactured to exacting standards using the same expertise that has put Team Losi RC vehicles at the top of the podium in international competition. When you choose genuine TLR replacement parts, you are investing in the same quality components that come pre-installed in the championship-winning TLR 22X-4 ELITE kit.

For ready to run RC enthusiasts and competitive racers alike, maintaining and optimising shock performance is crucial to keeping your 1/10 4WD buggy in peak racing condition. These machined pistons are a critical wear item in any competitive RC racing programme, as they directly influence how your suspension responds to track conditions, impacts, and cornering forces. By stocking authentic TLR shock components, you ensure your buggy maintains the consistency and reliability expected in high-level RC racing.

Key Features

  • Precision Machined Construction — These shock pistons are manufactured to exact specifications using machining processes that ensure consistency across the pair, which is essential for balanced suspension performance across both the front and rear axles of your RC buggy.
  • Thin Profile Design — The thin 1.6 and 1.7mm split piston configuration offers specific damping characteristics that allow for fine-tuned suspension setup, enabling you to dial in your RC buggy's handling across different track surfaces and weather conditions.
  • G3 Shock Compatibility — These pistons are engineered specifically for the G3 shock system found on the TLR 22X-4 ELITE, ensuring perfect fitment and performance integration with your race-ready 1/10 scale buggy.
  • Split Piston Configuration — The 1.6 1.7 split design allows you to run different damping rates on compression and rebound, or to experiment with varying stiffness levels to optimise your suspension setup for competitive advantage.
  • Factory-Approved Components — These are the identical shock pistons selected by the TLR product development team for the championship-winning TLR 22X-4 ELITE kit, representing the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Pair Included — Each package contains two pistons, providing what you need for a complete shock refresh or upgrade on your 1/10 RC buggy without the need for additional purchases.

Technical Performance

These TLR machined shock pistons are engineered with the precision and attention to detail that defines professional-grade RC racing components. The thin-profile pistons measuring 1.6 and 1.7mm are manufactured through precision machining processes that guarantee dimensional accuracy and surface finish quality essential for consistent damping performance. The split piston configuration allows tuning flexibility, enabling you to modify your RC buggy's suspension stiffness and damping response across compression and rebound phases. These components are fabricated from materials selected to withstand the extreme punishment of competitive 1/10 scale 4WD racing, where suspension components endure constant vibration, high-speed impacts, and aggressive cornering forces. The TLR 22X-4 ELITE, for which these pistons are specifically designed, represents the culmination of Team Losi Racing's engineering expertise in 1/10 scale 4WD buggy development. As replacement shock parts, these machined pistons address wear over time and allow racers to experiment with suspension tuning configurations that can provide marginal but crucial performance gains in competitive settings. The G3 shock system architecture into which these pistons integrate includes machined shock bodies, precision-engineered seals, and professionally designed shock towers and suspension geometry. Whether you are competing at ROAR-sanctioned events or running your RC buggy at your local club track, these machined pistons offer the quality assurance and performance consistency expected from genuine TLR components that have been track-tested by factory drivers under genuine racing conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these shock pistons compatible with my TLR 22X-4 ELITE buggy? — Yes, these machined shock pistons are designed specifically for the G3 shock system featured in the TLR 22X-4 ELITE 1/10 scale 4WD RC buggy. They will provide perfect fitment and integration with your race kit's suspension architecture.
  • What is the difference between the 1.6 and 1.7mm pistons in this split configuration? — The split design allows you to run different damping rates on compression and rebound, or to fine-tune suspension stiffness. The varying thicknesses permit adjustment of how quickly shock fluid flows through piston holes, affecting suspension response to track conditions and impacts.
  • Do I need special tools to install these shock pistons? — The source materials indicate that TLR offers shock tools (such as the TLR72003 Shock Tools Composite available separately), which are recommended for proper shock piston installation and adjustment on your 1/10 RC buggy.
  • How often should I replace my shock pistons? — Shock pistons are wear items in competitive RC racing. They should be inspected regularly and replaced when you notice changes in suspension response, loss of damping consistency, or after significant racing use. Stocking replacement pistons ensures you can maintain optimal suspension performance throughout the racing season.
  • Are these official TLR factory components? — Yes, these are genuine Team Losi Racing machined shock pistons manufactured to the same specifications used in the championship-winning TLR 22X-4 ELITE kit and trusted by TLR Factory Team drivers in international competition.
  • What is the G3 shock system? — The G3 represents the latest generation of TLR shock technology featured in the 22X-4 ELITE. It includes machined shock bodies, precision-engineered seals, and shock components that have been optimised for professional-level 1/10 scale 4WD buggy racing performance.
