Key Features
- Soft 1.1 Rate Specification — The soft rating of 1.1 provides reduced spring stiffness compared to standard or hard rates, allowing greater suspension travel and more compliant ride characteristics that absorb impacts more effectively on rough terrain and maintain consistent tyre contact on uneven surfaces.
- Genuine Losi OEM Component — As an official Losi part, these springs are manufactured to exact specifications matching the original equipment, guaranteeing compatibility and performance that perfectly matches your LMT platform without fitment issues or performance surprises.
- Four-Pack Quantity — The set includes four complete springs, providing a full replacement set for all four shock positions on your RC vehicle, and spare springs for testing different setups or maintaining performance during frequent use.
- Yellow Identification — The distinctive yellow colouring provides easy visual identification of the spring rate during setup changes, helping you quickly identify which springs are installed and preventing confusion when managing multiple spring rates in your RC hobby collection.
- Suspension Performance Tuning — By choosing a soft rate, drivers can fine-tune their suspension geometry and handling characteristics, improving traction, reducing wheel spin, and enhancing overall control—a critical factor in competitive RC racing and technical course navigation.
- Durability and Reliability — Losi shock springs are engineered to withstand repetitive compression and extension cycles, maintaining their spring rate consistency over extended use periods, ensuring your suspension setup remains predictable and responsive.
Technical Performance
The Losi Shock Spring Soft represents years of suspension engineering expertise applied to precision RC vehicle development. With a 1.1 rate classification, these springs deliver measurably softer characteristics than standard or hard alternatives, fundamentally altering how your LMT platform responds to terrain variations and driving inputs. The spring rate directly influences suspension stiffness, affecting how quickly the suspension compresses under load and how aggressively it extends when unweighted—critical factors for maintaining traction and control on technical courses. In the context of RC car UK competitive racing and serious hobbyist use, suspension tuning through spring rate selection represents one of the most impactful setup adjustments available to drivers. The soft rating is particularly effective on bumpy or inconsistent surfaces where suspension compliance prevents wheels from losing ground contact and reduces the tendency for the chassis to bounce after impacts. When paired with properly matched damping fluid in your shocks, these springs create a balanced suspension system capable of handling varied driving conditions. The yellow identification ensures quick visual confirmation of spring rate during track sessions or setup changes, eliminating confusion and enabling rapid experimentation with different tuning configurations. For drivers using these springs on LMT platforms, the soft rate typically provides improved traction control, reduced wheel spin, and more predictable handling characteristics—advantages particularly noticeable on high-grip surfaces or during technical cornering.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does soft spring rate 1.1 mean for my RC car performance? — Spring rate measures the stiffness of the suspension spring. A soft 1.1 rate means the spring requires less force to compress compared to standard or hard rates. This delivers a more compliant suspension setup that absorbs impacts more effectively, maintains tyre contact on rough terrain, and reduces wheel spin on high-grip surfaces. For RC hobbyists seeking improved traction and control on technical courses, soft springs represent an excellent tuning choice.
- Are these springs compatible with my Losi LMT vehicle? — Yes, these are genuine Losi OEM components specifically engineered for LMT platforms. As official manufacturer parts, they guarantee perfect compatibility without fitment modifications or performance uncertainties. Always verify your specific LMT model variant to ensure complete compatibility, though this part number is designed for the broader LMT platform range.
- Why should I choose soft springs instead of standard or hard rates? — Soft springs are ideal when you need improved suspension compliance and traction maintenance. They excel on bumpy terrain, high-grip surfaces, and technical courses where maintaining tyre contact matters most. Drivers preferring responsive handling with less aggressive suspension stiffness typically favour soft springs for their balanced performance characteristics and ease of tuning.
- How often should I replace my RC shock springs? — Spring replacement frequency depends on use intensity and terrain conditions. Springs gradually lose spring rate consistency after extended use through compression fatigue. If you notice handling changes, increased bounce, or wheel spin despite unchanged setup, spring replacement becomes necessary. Having spare springs on hand enables rapid testing and replacement without RC hobby downtime.
- Can I mix different spring rates on my RC vehicle? — Mixing spring rates is possible and sometimes beneficial for fine-tuning suspension characteristics between front and rear axles. However, matching pairs is typically recommended for consistent handling. When experimenting with mixed rates, always test thoroughly and document changes to understand their effects on your specific driving style and course conditions.
