Key Features
- 37 Gram Weight — At just 37 grams, this servo minimises the weight penalty on your aircraft whilst maintaining the torque and speed needed for effective control surface movement, helping to preserve the flight characteristics and responsiveness that make trainer aircraft enjoyable and forgiving to fly.
- Standard Servo Format — This servo follows industry-standard sizing and connector conventions, making it compatible with a wide range of RC aircraft, receiver systems and control harnesses, which simplifies installation and reduces the need for custom adapters or modifications.
- 24-Spline Output Shaft — The servo features a 24-spline output shaft that connects securely to compatible control horns and servo arms, providing a positive mechanical connection that resists slipping under load and ensures reliable control surface actuation throughout your flying session.
- Genuine E-flite Component — As an official E-flite product, this servo is engineered to the same exacting standards as your aircraft and is thoroughly tested for compatibility, reliability and longevity, giving you confidence that you're installing an authentic component rather than a questionable aftermarket substitute.
- Designed for Trainer Aircraft — Optimised specifically for the E-flite Apprentice STS and similar trainer aircraft, this servo delivers the control authority and response characteristics that make learning to fly intuitive and manageable, with predictable, linear control input throughout the full servo range.
- Rapid Replacement Option — Keep your trainer in the air by stocking spare servos, allowing you to swap out a damaged or suspect servo quickly and return to the flying field with minimal downtime, which is essential for flying schools and clubs with multiple aircraft in regular use.
Technical Performance
The E-flite Z-EFLR7150 standard servo is engineered with the precision and reliability that RC pilots have come to expect from the E-flite brand. At 37 grams, this servo strikes an optimal balance between control authority and weight efficiency, making it ideal for trainer aircraft where every gram affects flight performance and handling characteristics. The standard servo format ensures broad compatibility across a range of RC aircraft and Spektrum receiver systems, which have become the industry standard for radio-controlled flying in the UK and globally. The 24-spline output shaft provides a robust mechanical interface that resists slipping and ensures repeatable, accurate control surface positioning flight after flight. Built to withstand the demands of intensive training programmes, regular recreational flying and field repairs, this servo is manufactured to strict quality standards using proven materials and engineering that have been battle-tested across thousands of aircraft worldwide. The servo operates with the precision required for smooth, predictable control inputs, essential when teaching new pilots or executing manoeuvres with an aircraft that responds proportionally to control inputs. Whether you're flying at your local RC club, operating a training school, or enjoying weekend flying with friends, this servo will deliver consistent, reliable performance throughout your flying sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the E-flite Z-EFLR7150 servo suitable for the Apprentice STS? — Yes, this servo is purpose-designed as a direct replacement or upgrade component for the E-flite Apprentice STS trainer aircraft. It is the genuine E-flite spare part for this model and integrates perfectly with the aircraft's control system and receiver.
- What is the 24-spline output shaft and why does it matter? — The 24-spline output shaft is the mechanical interface that connects the servo to your control horns or servo arms. The spline count indicates how many ridges engage with the arm, and using the correct compatible arm ensures a secure, slip-free connection. Note that DUB675 Hitec servo arms are not compatible with this servo due to spline differences.
- How much does this servo weigh and why is that important? — At 37 grams, this servo is lightweight, which helps minimise the weight penalty in your aircraft. Keeping total aircraft weight down preserves flight characteristics, extends flight time on a given battery capacity, and maintains the forgiving handling that makes trainer aircraft ideal for learning.
- What radio systems work with this servo? — This servo is compatible with Spektrum receivers and systems, which are the recognised standard for RC aircraft. Your receiver must support standard servo connections and protocols. Always check your specific receiver model documentation for compatibility before installation.
- Is this a genuine E-flite product? — Yes, the Z-EFLR7150 is an official E-flite component manufactured to E-flite's exacting standards. Purchasing from authorised retailers like RC Model Shop guarantees you receive an authentic product backed by the manufacturer's quality assurance and support.
- What servo arms or horns are compatible? — Look for servo arms or control horns designed for 24-spline output shafts. The DUB675 Hitec servo arms specifically do not fit this servo due to spline incompatibility. Always verify compatibility before purchasing accessories, or ask our knowledgeable team for recommendations.
- Can I use this servo in other aircraft besides the Apprentice STS? — Yes, this standard servo can be used in any RC aircraft that accepts standard-sized servos with 24-spline output shafts and standard servo connectors. However, it is purpose-designed for the Apprentice STS, and compatibility with other aircraft depends on your airframe's servo bay dimensions and control system requirements.
- How do I install this servo? — Installation typically involves removing the old servo from the servo bay, disconnecting the receiver lead, removing the control horn from the old servo and transferring it to the new one (after verifying 24-spline compatibility), installing the servo into the airframe, reconnecting the receiver lead, and securing with the mounting hardware. Refer to your aircraft's manual for detailed installation instructions specific to your model.
