The E-Flite 1S USB Li-Po Charger (Model Z-EFLC1014) is an essential piece of equipment for anyone flying small electric RC aircraft or operating compact RC hobby models. This compact, user-friendly charger is specifically designed for single-cell lithium polymer (1S) battery packs, making it the perfect solution for park flyers, micro RC helicopters, and beginner-friendly RC aeroplanes. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast exploring the world of electric flight or a newcomer to the RC hobby in the UK, this charger offers reliable, straightforward charging capability that ensures your small-scale aircraft are always ready for the next flight session.
Designed with convenience in mind, the BLH 1S USB Li-Po Charger connects directly to any standard USB power source, eliminating the need for complex power supply systems or specialised wall chargers. This makes it an incredibly practical accessory whether you're charging at home, at the flying field, or on the go. The 700mA charging rate provides a sensible balance between charging speed and battery safety, ensuring your 1S LiPo batteries are charged efficiently without compromising their lifespan or performance. The JST connector compatibility means seamless integration with a wide range of E-Flite models and many other RC aircraft platforms that utilise standard JST connectors.
For RC model enthusiasts in the UK seeking a reliable, portable and affordable charging solution for their smaller electric-powered aircraft, this charger represents exceptional value. It's the sort of practical, no-nonsense piece of kit that becomes indispensable once you own it, and having a dedicated 1S charger means you can keep your flying sessions uninterrupted without juggling multiple charging setups or waiting for shared equipment to become available.
Key Features
- 1S LiPo Battery Compatibility — This charger is purpose-built to charge single-cell lithium polymer batteries, which are the standard power source for lightweight RC aircraft, micro helicopters and small electric-powered RC models, ensuring safe and optimised charging specifically tailored to 1S battery chemistry.
- 700mA Charging Rate — The 700 milliamp charging current provides a good middle ground between speed and safety, delivering reasonably quick charge times whilst maintaining battery health and longevity, which is especially important for expensive lithium polymer cells.
- USB Connectivity — By utilising a standard USB power input, this charger works with any USB power adapter, laptop, computer or portable power bank, making it extraordinarily versatile and convenient for charging at the field, at home, or whilst travelling to RC events across the UK.
- JST Connector — The included JST connector ensures compatibility with the vast majority of small RC aircraft and helicopters manufactured by E-Flite and many other brands, meaning one charger can serve multiple models in your collection.
- Compact and Portable Design — The small form factor means this charger is easy to transport to your local RC flying field or park, making it ideal for pilots who fly multiple battery packs and need a lightweight charging solution that doesn't take up significant space in their kit bag.
- Straightforward Operation — With no complex programming or menu systems required, simply plug the USB cable into a power source and connect your battery; the charger handles the rest, making it perfect for newcomers to RC flying who want simplicity and reliability.
Technical Performance
The E-Flite 1S USB Li-Po Charger represents solid engineering designed specifically for the demands of small-scale electric RC aircraft. The 700mA charging rate is intelligently calibrated for 1S lithium polymer batteries, which typically range from around 150mAh to 2200mAh in capacity depending on the specific model. This charging current ensures that even larger 1S packs within the typical range are charged in a reasonable timeframe — usually between one and three hours depending on battery capacity — whilst the intelligent charge termination protects against overcharging, one of the primary causes of lithium polymer battery failure and fire risk. The JST connector standard ensures secure, polarised connections that prevent reverse polarity damage, a critical safety feature when working with rechargeable lithium cells. The USB input design means the charger operates at 5V, a universal standard that provides compatibility with essentially any USB power source you might have access to, from wall adapters to computer USB ports to portable power banks. This level of versatility makes it a genuinely practical charger for RC pilots operating in various locations across the UK, whether at designated RC flying fields, in gardens, or during trips away from home. The charger's small size and light weight mean it adds negligible bulk to your RC kit, yet its dedicated functionality ensures you always have a purpose-built solution specifically optimised for your 1S battery requirements rather than relying on generic multi-cell chargers that may not be ideally suited to single-cell packs.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What size 1S batteries can this charger handle? — The 700mA charger is suitable for 1S lithium polymer batteries commonly used in RC aircraft and helicopters. The charging rate accommodates the typical range of 1S battery capacities found in small electric RC models, from compact micro packs through to larger capacity cells, with charge times varying based on the specific battery capacity.
- Is this charger suitable for beginners to RC flying? — Absolutely. This charger is exceptionally beginner-friendly because it requires no complex programming, menu navigation or technical knowledge. Simply connect your USB power source, plug in your battery using the JST connector, and the charger safely and automatically manages the charging process. It's an ideal first charger for anyone new to electric-powered RC aircraft in the UK.
- Can I use this charger with different USB power sources? — Yes, one of the great advantages of this USB-based design is compatibility with virtually any USB power supply. You can charge using standard wall adapters, USB ports on computers or laptops, portable power banks, or even vehicle USB chargers, making it exceptionally convenient for use at home, at the flying field, or on the road.
- What is the charging time for a typical 1S battery? — Charge time depends on battery capacity. The 700mA charging rate means that a 700mAh battery would charge in approximately one hour, a 1400mAh battery in around two hours, and larger 1S packs proportionally longer. Always refer to your specific battery's capacity specifications and the charger's automatic charge termination will protect against overcharging.
- Is this compatible with E-Flite Ultimate 3D aircraft? — Yes, this charger is compatible with E-Flite models and many other aircraft platforms that utilise JST connectors for battery connections, including small electric aircraft, park flyers and RC helicopters across the E-Flite range.
