Overview
The EFL Fuselage: Viper 70mm Z-EFL7701 is an essential replacement body component for the E-Flite Viper 70 EDF jet, one of the most popular electric ducted fan RC aircraft available in the UK market today. Whether you've experienced a crash, want to customise your model with alternative colour schemes, or simply need to replace damaged fuselage components, this genuine E-Flite part ensures perfect compatibility and authentic performance. The Viper 70 has established itself as a favourite among RC aircraft enthusiasts, offering impressive speed and handling characteristics that appeal to both intermediate pilots and experienced flyers seeking high-performance electric jet flight.
This dedicated fuselage replacement is manufactured to OEM specifications by E-Flite, guaranteeing the exact fit, finish and structural integrity required for safe operation. Rather than purchasing an entire new aircraft, sourcing individual airframe components like this fuselage allows you to repair your model economically and get back in the air quickly. The Viper 70mm EDF platform represents excellent value for serious RC jet enthusiasts in the UK, and maintaining it with genuine parts ensures optimal aerodynamic performance and reliability during flight.
At RC Model Shop, we stock a comprehensive range of E-Flite Viper 70 EDF spares and upgrades, from 70mm EDF fan units and motors to complete airframe sections including wings, stabilisers, fins, canopies and nose cones. By choosing genuine E-Flite components, you're investing in quality that matches the precision engineering of your aircraft. This fuselage forms the core structural element of your jet, housing all the critical systems and electronics, making it a vital component for safe and reliable operation.
Key Features
- Genuine E-Flite OEM Component — This fuselage is manufactured to original equipment manufacturer specifications, guaranteeing perfect fit and compatibility with all Viper 70mm EDF systems and accessories, eliminating guesswork when rebuilding or repairing your aircraft.
- 70mm EDF Specific Design — Built specifically for the 70mm ducted fan variant, this fuselage ensures optimal aerodynamic efficiency and structural compatibility, crucial for achieving the high performance and speed the Viper platform is renowned for.
- Complete Airframe Solution — The fuselage forms the central structural element of your aircraft, housing your electronics, battery, servos and control systems, making it essential for maintaining flight safety and reliability.
- Damage and Repair Option — Rather than replacing your entire aircraft after a hard landing or collision, sourcing an individual fuselage component allows you to restore your Viper to flying condition at a fraction of the cost of a complete new model.
- Colour Customisation Opportunity — Use this fuselage as a chance to refresh your aircraft's appearance or match alternative colour schemes and decal sets available for the Viper 70 platform.
- Compatible with Viper 70 Accessories — Works seamlessly with other Viper 70mm EDF components including the cockpit canopy, nose gear system, main landing gear, wings, stabilisers, and all electronic systems designed for this airframe.
Technical Performance
The EFL Fuselage: Viper 70mm represents precision aircraft engineering designed specifically for the 70mm electric ducted fan configuration. This fuselage serves as the primary structural component of the Viper 70 EDF jet, incorporating the fuselage body that accommodates the 70mm EDF ducted fan unit, motors, and associated powerplant systems. The airframe is constructed from EPO foam material, a lightweight yet robust compound widely used in modern RC aircraft construction because it offers excellent strength-to-weight ratio, superior impact resistance, and ease of repair using foam-safe adhesives. The fuselage must house the aircraft's electrical components including the motor, ESC (electronic speed controller), battery systems, servo control systems, and avionics, whilst maintaining the aerodynamic profile essential for high-speed jet flight. When assembling or repairing your Viper, it's critical to match part numbers from your instruction manual to ensure perfect compatibility. The fuselage connects to the main wing set, horizontal and vertical stabilisers, landing gear systems, and cockpit section to create the complete aircraft. After hard landings, it's essential to inspect the fuselage for damage to the EDF inlet, thrust tube alignment, and overall structural integrity. For any EPO foam repairs required, always use foam-safe CA or epoxy adhesives rather than standard cyano, which can damage the material. The Viper 70 platform is designed for reliable, high-performance operation, and maintaining your fuselage in good condition is essential for achieving the speed and handling characteristics this aircraft is known for.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this fuselage compatible with the E-Flite Viper 70 EDF jet? — Yes, this is the genuine OEM fuselage designed specifically for the Viper 70mm EDF variant. Always match the part number Z-EFL7701 from your instruction manual to ensure perfect compatibility and avoid confusion with the 90mm Viper variant, which uses different components.
- What materials is the fuselage made from? — The Viper 70 fuselage is constructed from EPO foam, a lightweight and durable material commonly used in modern RC aircraft. EPO foam provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio and impact resistance, whilst remaining repairable using foam-safe adhesives.
- Can I repair damage to an EPO foam fuselage? — Yes, EPO foam can be repaired, but you must use foam-safe CA or epoxy adhesives rather than standard cyano, which damages the material. This makes EPO aircraft like the Viper particularly practical for repair and maintenance.
- What other components do I need to complete a Viper 70 aircraft? — You'll need the cockpit canopy, wing set, horizontal and vertical stabilisers, 70mm ducted fan, motor, ESC, battery system, landing gear components, servos, radio system, and hardware. RC Model Shop stocks all these components as individual spares.
- How should I inspect my fuselage after a hard landing? — Check for cracks or dents in the foam, inspect the EDF inlet for damage or debris, verify the thrust tube alignment, and ensure landing gear attachment points are intact. These checks help maintain aerodynamic performance and structural safety.
- What's the difference between the 70mm and 90mm Viper variants? — The Viper platform comes in two sizes: the 70mm version (this fuselage) uses a smaller 70mm ducted fan for intermediate to advanced pilots, whilst the 90mm variant is larger and uses 90mm EDF components. Ensure you select the correct size for your aircraft.
