Key Features

  • Genuine Blade Component — This baseplate is manufactured by Blade, the designers and engineers of the Fusion 360 helicopter, ensuring perfect fitment and compatibility with your aircraft and maintaining the exact flight characteristics the machine was designed to deliver.
  • Integrated Battery and Gyro Mount — The baseplate combines mounting points for both your battery pack and gyroscopic stabilisation system in a single component, reducing the number of parts needed and simplifying the assembly process whilst maintaining structural integrity.
  • Critical for Flight Balance — Proper battery and gyro mounting directly affects your Fusion 360's centre of gravity and weight distribution, which are fundamental to achieving the stable, responsive flight performance that makes the Fusion 360 such a popular choice amongst UK RC helicopter pilots.
  • Durable Engineering — Blade's baseplate design has been tested and refined through extensive development, ensuring it withstands the stresses of regular flight operations and can handle the occasional impact that comes with RC helicopter flying.
  • Easy Installation — As a genuine Blade spare part, this baseplate is designed to fit precisely into your Fusion 360 airframe assembly without requiring modifications or workarounds, making repairs and maintenance straightforward even for pilots new to RC helicopters.

Technical Performance

The BLH Baseplate Battery and Gyro Mount is engineered to exacting standards as part of Blade's commitment to quality and performance in the Fusion 360 platform. This component plays a vital role in the helicopter's structural integrity and flight dynamics, serving as the mounting foundation for two of the most weight-critical systems aboard the aircraft. The baseplate's design takes into account the precise weight distribution requirements of the Fusion 360, ensuring that both the battery pack and gyroscopic stabilisation system are positioned to maintain optimal centre of gravity. The baseplate is manufactured using materials and construction techniques that provide the necessary strength and rigidity whilst keeping weight to a minimum—a critical balance in RC helicopter design. When paired with other genuine Blade components such as the main rotor headblock, frame, and tail rotor bellcrank, this baseplate ensures your Fusion 360 performs exactly as intended. For UK RC helicopter enthusiasts who demand reliability and consistent flight characteristics, using genuine Blade spares like this baseplate is essential for maintaining your aircraft in top condition and ensuring safe, predictable performance every time you fly.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the Fusion 360 baseplate do and why do I need it? — The baseplate is the mounting foundation for both your battery pack and gyroscopic stabilisation system in the Fusion 360. These two components are critical to flight performance, and their proper positioning affects the helicopter's centre of gravity, balance, and stability. If your baseplate becomes damaged through a crash or hard landing, replacing it with a genuine Blade component ensures your aircraft returns to its original specifications and flight characteristics.
  • Is this a difficult part to replace on my Fusion 360? — As a genuine Blade component designed specifically for the Fusion 360, this baseplate is engineered to fit precisely into your airframe assembly. Installation is straightforward if you follow your helicopter's manual and take care to position your battery and gyro system correctly. Always consult your manual for exact part numbers and model-specific instructions to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Can I use a non-genuine baseplate instead? — Whilst third-party alternatives may be available, genuine Blade components maintain the flight characteristics and performance standards that Blade engineers designed into the Fusion 360. Using authentic parts ensures your helicopter performs as expected and helps maintain resale value. Many UK RC helicopter pilots prefer genuine spares for the peace of mind and reliability they provide.
  • How do I know if my baseplate needs replacing? — If your Fusion 360 has suffered a crash or hard landing, inspect the baseplate for cracks, bending, or broken mounting tabs. If you notice your helicopter's flight characteristics have changed or if your battery or gyro is not sitting securely, a damaged baseplate may be the cause. Replacing it with a new genuine Blade baseplate will restore your aircraft to its original performance.
  • What other Fusion 360 spares should I keep in stock? — Common wear items and crash-prone components for the Fusion 360 include main blades, tail blades, main grip sets, tail rotor hubs, tail boom clamps, and tail cases. We also stock motor mounts, swashplates, main rotor headblocks, and various bearing and hardware packs. Building a spare parts collection ensures you can get back in the air quickly after inevitable crashes.
