Overview
The BLH Mainshaft (2): 270 CFX is an essential replacement component for owners of the Blade 270 CFX and Fusion 270 micro helicopters. Whether you're an experienced RC helicopter enthusiast based in the UK or someone just beginning their journey into the world of precision RC flying, having genuine replacement parts on hand is crucial for keeping your model airborne. This mainshaft is a direct fit replacement part engineered to the exact specifications required by your 270 CFX, ensuring reliable performance and seamless compatibility with your existing setup.
Micro helicopter flying demands precision, durability and reliability from every single component. The mainshaft is one of the most critical parts of your helicopter's drive system, responsible for transferring power from the motor through the main gear and ultimately to the main rotor blades. A damaged or worn mainshaft will compromise your helicopter's flight characteristics, stability and safety. That's why purchasing genuine Blade replacement parts from an authorised UK retailer is so important — you can be confident you're getting components manufactured to the original specification.
This package includes two mainshafts, giving you a spare for your next crash repair or allowing you to maintain multiple helicopters simultaneously. For RC enthusiasts in the UK looking for reliable micro helicopter spares, the BLH Mainshaft delivers genuine quality you can trust.
Key Features
- Steel Construction — The mainshaft is manufactured from steel, which provides excellent durability and strength whilst maintaining the precise tolerances required for smooth, vibration-free operation of your main rotor system. Steel's superior wear resistance ensures your mainshaft will maintain its dimensional accuracy through multiple flights and crash repairs.
- 5mm Outside Diameter — With a precisely engineered 5mm outside diameter, this mainshaft is designed to fit perfectly within the Blade 270 CFX main frame assembly and is compatible with the original main gear and bearing blocks. This precise diameter specification is critical for ensuring proper gear mesh and preventing wobbling or runout during flight.
- Pack of Two — This package contains two mainshafts, providing excellent value and ensuring you always have a spare ready for crash repairs or maintenance. Having backup components on hand means less downtime and more flight time for your RC helicopter.
- Direct Fit Replacement Part — This is a direct fit replacement part specifically engineered for the 270 CFX helicopter, guaranteeing compatibility without modification or adjustment. No guesswork, no fitment issues — simply install and fly.
- Genuine Blade Component — As an official Blade replacement part, this mainshaft is manufactured to the exact original specification, ensuring the same precision fit and performance as your helicopter's factory component. Genuine parts protect your investment and maintain your helicopter's resale value.
Technical Performance
The mainshaft is a precision-engineered component that plays a vital role in your 270 CFX's performance and longevity. Constructed from high-quality steel, this component is designed to withstand the stresses and vibrations inherent in micro helicopter operation whilst maintaining the dimensional accuracy necessary for smooth main rotor operation. The 5mm outside diameter specification ensures perfect compatibility with the Blade 270 CFX's main gear and bearing blocks, critical for achieving the tight tolerances required in modern micro helicopter design. During flight, the mainshaft transfers rotational power from the brushless motor through the main gear to drive the main rotor blades. Any wear, damage or dimensional variation in the mainshaft will result in increased runout, vibration, and potential blade tracking issues that compromise flight stability and control authority. That's why using genuine Blade replacement parts is so important — they maintain the engineering precision your helicopter was designed with. Whether you're replacing a bent mainshaft after a crash, performing routine maintenance on a well-used helicopter, or simply stocking spares for future repairs, these Blade-engineered mainshafts are the correct choice for 270 CFX and Fusion 270 owners across the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will the BLH Mainshaft fit my 270 CFX helicopter? — Yes, this is a direct fit replacement part specifically engineered for the Blade 270 CFX and Fusion 270 helicopters. The 5mm diameter and all dimensional specifications match the original component exactly, ensuring perfect compatibility without modification.
- How do I know if my mainshaft needs replacing? — If your helicopter exhibits vibration during flight, your main rotor blades appear to have tracking issues, or you've experienced a crash where the drivetrain was impacted, you should inspect your mainshaft for bending or damage. A bent mainshaft will cause visible runout and cannot be straightened safely — replacement is the correct solution.
- Why does this package include two mainshafts? — Having two mainshafts in one package provides excellent value and ensures you always have a spare ready. Micro helicopter crashes are part of the hobby, and having replacement components on hand means you can return to flying quickly rather than waiting for parts to arrive. Many UK RC enthusiasts keep spare mainshafts in their repair kit for this reason.
- Is this suitable for beginners to RC helicopters? — This is a replacement component for existing 270 CFX owners rather than a beginner product by itself. If you're new to micro helicopter flying, you'll need to purchase a complete 270 CFX helicopter first. However, as a replacement part, it's perfectly suitable for beginners — installation is straightforward and doesn't require special tools or expertise.
- How often will I need to replace my mainshaft? — With proper care and flying technique, a mainshaft should last for many flights. However, since crashes are part of the RC helicopter hobby, having spares on hand is wise insurance. The steel construction is very durable, so mainshaft replacement is typically only necessary after impact damage rather than normal wear.
- Can I repair a bent mainshaft rather than replace it? — Attempting to straighten a bent mainshaft is not recommended. Even minor bending can result in runout and vibration that affects flight performance and can damage other components. Replacement is the proper solution and guarantees your helicopter will operate correctly.
