Overview
The BLH Tail Grip Bearing Set is an essential spare part designed specifically for the Blade 180 CFX and Fusion 180 RC helicopter platforms. Whether you're a dedicated RC enthusiast maintaining your fleet or a pilot recovering from a crash, this genuine Blade component ensures your tail assembly operates with precision and reliability. Tail bearings are critical to smooth rotor operation, and keeping a quality replacement set in your field box is one of the best preventative maintenance practices for any serious RC helicopter pilot in the UK.
This is a crash-repair staple that experienced RC helicopter operators recommend keeping on hand at all times. The tail grip bearing set forms a vital part of the tail rotor assembly, directly affecting the responsiveness and stability of your helicopter's tail hold during flight. Proper bearing condition is essential for maintaining vibration-free flight and crisp tail control, making this spare part an important investment in your model's longevity and flight performance.
As a genuine Blade component, this bearing set is engineered to exact specifications and manufactured to the same quality standards as the original equipment fitted to your helicopter. Whether you're rebuilding after a tip-over or performing routine preventative maintenance on your RC model, sourcing authentic Blade parts from an authorised UK retailer ensures you're getting genuine components that will restore your helicopter to factory performance standards.

Technical Performance
The tail grip bearing set represents precision engineering optimised for the demanding requirements of RC helicopter tail rotor assemblies. These bearings are engineered to withstand the rotational forces and vibration inherent in RC helicopter operation whilst maintaining the tight tolerances necessary for smooth tail rotor function. The bearing set works in conjunction with other tail components including the tail shaft, tail pulley, and tail rotor hub to create a complete tail assembly that delivers the responsive, stable tail hold that pilots depend on for precise helicopter control. Regular inspection and replacement of worn tail bearings is one of the most effective preventative maintenance strategies for maintaining vibration-free flight and extending the overall lifespan of your RC helicopter. Blade engineers specify these exact bearing specifications to ensure compatibility with the 180 CFX and Fusion 180 airframes, meaning no modification or adjustment is necessary — simply install and fly. The quality of your tail bearings directly influences tail servo responsiveness, gyro performance, and overall flight stability, making this seemingly small component absolutely critical to your helicopter's flight characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Why should I keep a tail grip bearing set in my RC helicopter spares collection? — Tail bearings are subject to continuous high-speed rotation and vibration during flight. Over time, bearings wear and can develop play or friction, degrading tail control responsiveness and introducing vibration into your helicopter. Keeping a spare bearing set allows you to perform preventative replacement before problems develop, or quickly restore your helicopter to flying condition after a crash without waiting for repairs.
- How often should I replace the tail grip bearings on my Blade 180 CFX or Fusion 180? — Inspect your bearings regularly during routine maintenance. If you notice any play in the tail rotor, reduced tail responsiveness, or increased vibration, it's time to replace the bearing set. Flight time, crash history, and operating conditions all influence bearing lifespan, so visual inspection is the best indicator of when replacement is needed.
- Is this bearing set suitable for crash repair on a Blade 180 CFX or Fusion 180? — Yes, this is specifically designed as a crash-repair component. Tail grip bearings are frequently damaged in tip-overs and crashes, making them one of the most commonly replaced spare parts. Having a genuine Blade replacement bearing set on hand enables you to repair your helicopter quickly and get back in the air within hours rather than days.
- What other tail components should I inspect when replacing the tail grip bearings? — When you replace the tail grip bearing set, it's an excellent time to inspect other tail assembly components including the tail shaft, tail pulley, tail boom, tail servo boom mount, and tail rotor hub. The retailer's spare parts range includes all of these components to support complete tail assembly maintenance and rebuild.
- Why buy genuine Blade components rather than aftermarket alternatives? — Genuine Blade components are engineered and manufactured to exact specifications for your helicopter model. They guarantee perfect fit, optimal performance, and reliability. Aftermarket components may require modification or adjustment and may not perform to the same standards, potentially compromising your helicopter's handling and longevity.
