Overview
The Team Losi Racing Front Springs in Yellow represent an essential suspension upgrade for owners of competitive 1/10 scale 2WD buggies. These low frequency 12mm front springs are precision-engineered components designed to fine-tune your RC buggy's handling characteristics and performance on both carpet and dirt surfaces. Whether you're racing an RC car UK for the first time or you're an experienced competitor looking to optimise your suspension setup, these replacement springs offer the flexibility to dial in exactly the right ride height and spring rate for your driving style and track conditions.
Manufactured by Team Losi Racing, a recognised leader in competitive RC buggy development, these front springs are compatible with multiple models in their 1/10 22 platform range. The yellow colour designation indicates the specific spring rate, making it easy to identify and swap springs when tuning your suspension. These are optional parts designed as replacement or upgrade components, allowing you to experiment with different suspension configurations to achieve faster lap times and improved handling balance.
For anyone serious about RC car racing in the UK or looking to improve their vehicle's performance across different terrain types, having a selection of front springs with different rates is essential. The low frequency characteristic means these springs are suited to specific track conditions and driving preferences, giving you granular control over your RC buggy's behaviour through corners and over jumps.
Key Features
- Yellow Spring Rate — The yellow colour coding identifies the specific spring rate of these components, allowing you to quickly identify and select the correct springs for your tuning needs and to distinguish them from other spring rates in your RC tool box.
- Low Frequency Design — These springs are specifically engineered as low frequency units, providing a softer, more compliant suspension response that suits particular track conditions and driving styles, allowing your RC buggy to absorb impacts more progressively.
- 12mm Bore Diameter — The 12mm specification indicates these springs are designed to fit the front shock positions on compatible Team Losi Racing 1/10 22 series buggies, ensuring perfect fitment and performance.
- Pair Supply — You receive two springs in this package, providing both front shock units with matching components to ensure balanced suspension geometry and predictable handling characteristics across both sides of your RC car.
- Official OEM Components — As genuine Team Losi Racing parts manufactured by the original equipment maker, these springs meet the exact specifications and quality standards required for competition-level RC buggy racing.
- Universal Compatibility — These replacement springs work across multiple Team Losi Racing 1/10 22 buggy platforms including the 4.0 2WD, 5.0 2WD AC, 5.0 2WD DC, 5.0 2WD Spec, and 22X-4 ELITE 4X4 models, giving you flexibility in your RC car collection.
Technical Performance
The Team Losi Racing Front Springs represent precision engineering designed specifically for competitive 1/10 scale RC buggy racing. These suspension components are manufactured to exacting tolerances to ensure consistent performance and predictable handling characteristics. The low frequency designation is critical to understanding their performance envelope — these springs provide a softer initial response compared to higher frequency alternatives, making them ideal for tracks with significant elevation changes, jump landings, or where driver preference leans towards a more compliant suspension setup. The 12mm bore diameter is the industry standard for Team Losi Racing 1/10 22 series shock towers, ensuring perfect fitment without modification. The pair supply means you get matching springs for both front positions, which is essential for maintaining balanced suspension geometry and preventing unwanted handling biases that could cost you precious milliseconds on the clock. Whether you're running on UK carpet racing surfaces or outdoor dirt and clay tracks, having the correct spring rate installed is fundamental to achieving optimal grip levels, consistent lap times, and predictable cornering behaviour. The yellow colour coding system employed by Team Losi Racing makes it simple to identify spring rates at a glance, which is particularly valuable when you're testing different configurations between practice sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What Team Losi Racing models are these front springs compatible with? — These yellow low frequency 12mm front springs are compatible with the following Team Losi Racing 1/10 22 series models: the TLR03013 22 4.0 2WD Buggy Race Kit, the TLR03017 22 5.0 2WD Buggy AC Race Kit for Astro and carpet racing, the TLR03016 22 5.0 2WD Buggy DC Race Kit for dirt and clay surfaces, the TLR03022 22 5.0 2WD DC ELITE Race Kit, the TLR03018 22 5.0 2WD Spec Racing Kit, the TLR03012 22 5.0 DC Race Roller, and the TLR03026 22X-4 ELITE 4X4 Buggy Race Kit. Always verify your specific model number before ordering to ensure perfect fitment.
- Why would I choose low frequency springs for my RC buggy? — Low frequency springs provide a softer, more compliant suspension response compared to higher frequency alternatives. This makes them ideal if you prefer a smoother ride over rough track sections, want more suspension travel absorption on landing from jumps, or are racing on tracks with significant elevation changes. Your choice of spring frequency is a crucial tuning parameter that directly affects handling, grip levels, and lap time consistency.
- Can I use these springs on both carpet and dirt tracks? — Yes, these front springs are suitable for use on both carpet racing surfaces and dirt or clay outdoor tracks, as they are compatible with Team Losi Racing models specifically designed for both environments, including AC carpet-spec kits and DC dirt-spec kits. However, different track conditions may require different spring rates for optimal performance, so you may want to experiment with other available rates.
- How do I know which spring rate to use on my buggy? — Spring rate selection depends on several factors including your track surface type, elevation changes, your body weight and driving style, ambient temperature, and suspension geometry setup. The yellow colour indicates these are a specific rate designed for particular conditions. Many racers keep multiple spring rates on hand and test different combinations during practice sessions to find the optimal setup for their particular track and conditions.
- Are these official Team Losi Racing parts? — Yes, these are genuine original equipment manufacturer parts produced by Team Losi Racing to their exact specifications. The model number Z-TLR233053 ensures you are purchasing authentic Team Losi Racing components with full compatibility guarantee.
