Overview
The Axial 4mm x 8mm x 3mm Ball Bearing (2) Z-AXI237003 is an essential replacement bearing pack designed for serious RC enthusiasts who maintain and upgrade their scale crawlers and off-road RC vehicles. Whether you're running an Axial SCX10 III rock crawler, a Jeep CJ-7, an Early Ford Bronco, or any other compatible Axial platform, these precision ball bearings are built to the exacting standards you'd expect from an official manufacturer part. As an RC hobbyist in the UK, finding genuine OEM replacement parts is crucial to keeping your RC car UK-legal and running at peak performance, and this bearing pack delivers exactly that.
These ball bearings are not simply generic components—they are genuine Axial factory parts engineered to work perfectly with your existing drivetrain, suspension and steering systems. The pair of bearings in this pack ensures you have the spares needed to replace worn or damaged bearings without having to source mismatched components from multiple suppliers. Whether you're a weekend basher maintaining your ready-to-run RC vehicle or a serious builder keeping your crawler in competition-ready condition, quality bearings like these are the foundation of reliable performance.
Bearing replacement is one of the most common maintenance tasks in RC, and having the correct OEM part on hand means downtime is minimised and your investment in your RC hobby stays protected. The Axial 4mm x 8mm x 3mm Ball Bearing is compatible with an extensive range of SCX10 III models, making it a smart item to keep in your spares box.
Key Features
- Genuine Axial Factory Part — This is an official OEM bearing manufactured by Axial, ensuring perfect dimensional accuracy and compatibility with your specific RC model without any guesswork or trial-and-error fitting.
- Pair of Bearings — The pack contains two bearings, allowing you to replace worn units on both sides of an axle or steering component, or maintain a spare for future maintenance needs.
- Precision 4mm x 8mm x 3mm Dimensions — These specific dimensions are engineered to fit the steering and drivetrain assemblies of Axial SCX10 III scale crawlers, ensuring smooth rotation and optimal load distribution.
- Wide Model Compatibility — These bearings work with numerous Axial SCX10 III variants including the Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR, Base Camp 4WD Rock Crawler, Coyote 4X4 RTR, 1987 Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR, Early Ford Bronco, Jeep CJ-7 4X4 RTR and the SCX10 III Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10 RTR, as well as Builders Kit versions.
- Essential Maintenance Component — Regular bearing replacement is critical to maintaining steering response, reducing friction in the drivetrain and preventing mechanical failure that could damage more expensive components.
Technical Performance
Ball bearings are among the most important wear items in any RC vehicle, and the engineering behind them is more sophisticated than many hobbyists realise. The Axial 4mm x 8mm x 3mm bearing must handle radial loads, axial loads and constant rotational stress while maintaining extremely tight tolerances. The 4mm bore diameter is sized to fit precisely onto steering kingpin shafts or axle carriers, whilst the 8mm outer diameter allows the bearing to mount securely in the associated components without excessive play or slop. The 3mm width profile ensures the bearing sits correctly in restricted spaces where clearance is limited. These dimensions are the result of careful engineering to match the exact requirements of the SCX10 III platform. Using genuine Axial bearings rather than aftermarket alternatives ensures you get the exact material composition, hardness and surface finish that your crawler was designed for, which translates directly to improved steering precision, longer component lifespan and more predictable handling on the trail or rock course. Whether you're running your RC car UK-wide in all weather conditions or in a more controlled environment, maintaining quality bearings keeps everything running smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Axial RC models are compatible with the 4mm x 8mm x 3mm ball bearing? — This bearing is compatible with a comprehensive range of Axial SCX10 III models, including the Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR (C-AXI03006BT1), SCX10 III Base Camp 4WD Rock Crawler Builders Kit (C-AXI03011), SCX10 III Base Camp 4X4 Rock Crawler RTR in Grey (C-AXI-1375T2) and White (C-AXI-1375T1), SCX10 III Coyote 4X4 RTR in Blue (C-AXI-2036T2) and Silver (C-AXI-2036T1), 1987 Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR Brushed Rock Crawler (C-AXI-2062T1 and C-AXI-2062T2), SCX10 III Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10 RTR (C-AXI03029), SCX10 III 4WD Rock Crawler Builders Kit (C-AXI-2755), SCX10 III Early Ford Bronco 4WD Scale Crawler RTR in Blue (C-AXI03014BT1) and White (C-AXI03014BT2), and SCX10 III Jeep CJ-7 4X4 RTR Rock Crawler in Red (C-AXI03008V2T1) and Copper (C-AXI03008V2T2).
- Why should I replace my RC crawler bearings regularly? — Bearings experience constant rotational stress and are exposed to dirt, sand and moisture during crawling and off-road driving. Worn bearings increase friction in steering and drivetrain components, reduce steering response precision, and can eventually cause damage to more expensive parts like kingpins and axle carriers. Regular replacement of worn bearings is preventative maintenance that saves money in the long run and keeps your ready-to-run RC vehicle performing at its best.
- How do I know if my bearings need replacing? — Signs of worn bearings include grinding sounds during rotation, notchy or jerky steering input, excessive play in steering components, or visible rust and corrosion on the bearing surfaces. If you notice any of these symptoms while running your RC car UK, it's time to replace the bearings with genuine OEM parts like this Axial bearing pack.
- Can I use aftermarket bearings instead of genuine Axial bearings? — Whilst aftermarket bearings may fit physically, genuine Axial OEM bearings are engineered to exact specifications and tolerances that perfectly match your crawler's design. Using genuine parts ensures optimal performance, correct load distribution and maximum component lifespan. Axial has invested extensive research into the bearing specifications for each model, so using the factory part is always the best choice.
- What is the difference between this bearing and other ball bearing options? — The 4mm x 8mm x 3mm size is specifically engineered for SCX10 III steering and drivetrain applications, with dimensions that cannot be substituted without compromising fit and performance. Other bearing sizes are designed for different vehicle platforms and will not work correctly in this application, which is why sourcing the exact OEM part is essential.
