Overview
The AXIAL Steering Links, Stainless Steel (Z-AXI234011) are essential replacement or upgrade components designed specifically for the SCX10 III series of 1/10 scale rock crawlers. These stainless steel steering links are precision-engineered to deliver reliable steering control and durability on challenging terrain. Whether you're maintaining your existing SCX10 III crawler, upgrading from worn components, or building a custom rig, these steering links provide the quality and performance you expect from genuine AXIAL parts. As an RC enthusiast in the UK looking for dependable replacement parts, you'll appreciate the robust construction and corrosion-resistant stainless steel material that withstands the demands of trail crawling and off-road adventures.
Steering links are critical components in any rock crawler's suspension and steering geometry. They connect the steering servo output to the steering knuckles, translating servo commands into precise directional control. The quality of your steering links directly affects how your crawler responds to input, how accurately it navigates obstacles, and how consistently it performs across different terrain. AXIAL's engineering ensures that these links maintain proper steering geometry and reduce bump steer, allowing your SCX10 III to maintain optimal handling characteristics whether you're tackling rocky terrain, sand, mud, or technical trail sections.
These genuine AXIAL steering links are compatible with a comprehensive range of SCX10 III models, making them an ideal choice for owners of the Base Camp 4X4 Rock Crawler RTR, Coyote 4X4 RTR, Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR, Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR, and the SCX10 III Builders Kit. The stainless steel construction provides exceptional corrosion resistance compared to standard steel, ensuring your steering links maintain their integrity through repeated water crossings, muddy terrain, and harsh weather conditions common in UK outdoor RC adventures.
Key Features
- Stainless Steel Construction — Manufactured from premium stainless steel, these steering links offer superior corrosion resistance compared to standard materials, ensuring they maintain their strength and appearance even after extended use in wet conditions, on muddy trails, or in coastal environments.
- Precise Engineering — AXIAL's engineering expertise ensures these steering links are manufactured to exact tolerances, maintaining proper steering geometry and reducing bump steer for consistent handling and responsive control across all terrain types.
- All-Metal Pivot Points — Like the complete SCX10 III suspension system, the steering links incorporate metal construction with stainless steel ball pivot points, providing durable, long-lasting performance through hundreds of trail runs.
- Optimised Steering Geometry — These components work as part of the SCX10 III's carefully optimised steering geometry that reduces bump steer, allowing you to maintain precise control when crawling over rocks, roots, and uneven obstacles.
- Direct OEM Compatibility — As genuine AXIAL replacement parts, these steering links fit perfectly on SCX10 III models without modification, maintaining original steering characteristics and performance specifications.
- Essential Maintenance Component — Whether replacing worn steering links or upgrading your crawler, these components ensure your steering system performs at peak efficiency, delivering reliable control in all conditions.
Technical Performance
The AXIAL Steering Links are manufactured to OEM specifications that integrate seamlessly with the SCX10 III's advanced suspension and steering system. The stainless steel material selection provides exceptional durability whilst maintaining the lightweight characteristics necessary for optimal performance in 1/10 scale rock crawling. These links are engineered to work in conjunction with the SCX10 III's optimised suspension geometry, which includes metal links throughout with stainless steel ball pivot points at all connection points. The steering system in the SCX10 III is designed for 2-wheel steering with front suspension geometry optimised to reduce bump steer, whilst the rear 4-link suspension reduces torque twist. By maintaining these geometric relationships with quality replacement steering links, your crawler will continue to deliver the precise, responsive control that makes the SCX10 III platform one of the most recognised and respected 1/10 scale rock crawlers available in the UK market. The stainless steel construction ensures these links resist corrosion from exposure to water, mud, and salt environments, maintaining their structural integrity far longer than standard steel alternatives. Installation is straightforward on any compatible SCX10 III model, and they integrate perfectly with the included Spektrum S614 15kg steel gear waterproof servo that handles all steering commands.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the purpose of steering links on an RC rock crawler? — Steering links are mechanical connectors that transfer steering commands from your servo to the front wheels. They are essential components that determine how your crawler responds to steering input and maintain proper wheel alignment geometry. Quality steering links like these AXIAL units ensure precise, responsive steering control whether you're navigating tight technical terrain or executing smooth, sweeping turns.
- Why should I choose stainless steel steering links over standard options? — Stainless steel offers superior corrosion resistance compared to standard steel, making these links ideal for UK crawlers that frequently encounter wet conditions, mud, river crossings, and coastal environments. The corrosion-resistant properties mean your steering links will maintain their strength and appearance through countless trail runs without degradation.
- Which SCX10 III models are these steering links compatible with? — These genuine AXIAL steering links (Z-AXI234011) are compatible with all major SCX10 III variants, including the Base Camp 4X4 Rock Crawler RTR in both White and Grey versions, the Coyote 4X4 RTR in both Silver and Blue variants, the 1987 Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR, the Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR in Black, the SCX10 III Pro with Pro-Line Chevy K10 body, and the SCX10 III Builders Kit.
- Are these genuine AXIAL parts or aftermarket alternatives? — These are genuine, OEM AXIAL parts manufactured to exact factory specifications. They are not aftermarket or third-party alternatives. Using genuine AXIAL steering links ensures perfect fitment, maintains your crawler's original performance characteristics, and guarantees quality that matches the engineering standards of your SCX10 III.
- How often should I replace my steering links? — Steering links typically have a long service life, particularly in stainless steel construction. However, you should inspect them regularly for damage, bent components, or loose pivot connections. If you notice any steering response issues, uneven turning, or visible damage to the links, replacement is recommended to maintain optimal crawling performance.
- Can I install these steering links myself? — Installation is straightforward and well within the capabilities of most RC enthusiasts. Complete assembly instructions and exploded-view diagrams are available from AXIAL's support section and in the SCX10 III instruction manual. Basic tools and familiarity with your crawler are typically all that's needed.
- Will these steering links improve my crawler's performance? — If you're replacing worn or damaged steering links, genuine AXIAL replacements will restore your crawler to factory performance specifications. If you're upgrading from damaged components, you'll notice improved steering precision and response. The stainless steel construction also means better long-term durability and corrosion resistance.
