Technical Performance
The Axial Shock Body represents precision suspension engineering designed for demanding off-road RC applications. Constructed from aircraft-grade aluminium, the material selection prioritises both strength and weight efficiency, critical factors in maintaining responsive handling on technical terrain. The clear anodised finish goes beyond aesthetics, providing a protective oxide layer that resists corrosion from moisture, mud, and salt—particularly important for UK RC enthusiasts operating in wet conditions or near coastal areas. The 11x41.5mm dimensions are the result of extensive development work ensuring perfect integration with the Axial SCX10 III suspension architecture. This scale crawler platform demands precision-engineered components that maintain consistent suspension geometry under extreme trail conditions, and these genuine Axial parts deliver exactly that performance standard. The lightweight construction contributes to improved suspension responsiveness whilst the rigid aluminium body resists bending forces encountered during rock crawling and obstacle traversal. As a fundamental suspension component, the shock body directly influences your crawler's ability to maintain tyre contact with uneven surfaces, manage weight transfer during climbing, and absorb impacts from technical features. Whether you're building a competition-ready crawler or maintaining an existing platform, upgrading to genuine Axial components ensures your vehicle performs exactly as the engineers intended.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the Axial Shock Body used for? — The shock body is the main structural component of your suspension system that houses the internal shock mechanism. It directly connects to the shock tower and suspension links, working to absorb impacts from terrain obstacles and maintain consistent suspension travel. On a rock crawler, this component is absolutely critical for controlling weight transfer and maintaining tyre contact during technical climbs and descents.
- Will these shock bodies fit my Axial SCX10 III? — Yes, these shock bodies are engineered specifically for the Axial 1/10 SCX10 III platform and are compatible with all major variants including the Base Camp, Coyote, Toyota SR5, Early Ford Bronco, and Jeep CJ-7 models. Always verify your specific model against the compatibility list before purchase.
- What makes clear anodised aluminium better than standard steel? — Aluminium offers significant weight savings compared to steel whilst maintaining excellent rigidity, which improves suspension response and handling. The clear anodised coating provides superior corrosion resistance, particularly valuable in the UK where moisture and wet conditions are common. This finish protects the metal from oxidation and extends the component's working lifespan considerably.
- Do I need to replace shock bodies regularly? — Shock bodies rarely wear out in normal use, but they can become damaged through impacts or bent from crashes. If you notice your suspension feel changing, see visible bending, or experience uneven ride height between sides, replacement shock bodies may be needed. Having spare genuine parts on hand is smart practice for competitive crawlers.
- Are these suitable for both crawling and bashing? — These shock bodies are engineered for the SCX10 III platform, which is primarily designed for scale rock crawling rather than high-speed bashing. However, they will perform admirably in any terrain your SCX10 III is operated on, whether technical trails, rocky gardens, or moderately challenging off-road environments.
