Overview

The Axial Shock O-Ring Set is an essential spare part for maintaining and servicing the suspension systems on a wide range of Axial SCX10 III rock crawlers. Whether you are running an RTR ready to run RC crawler, a builders kit, or a competition-grade scale model, shock o-rings are critical wear items that require regular replacement to keep your suspension performing at its best. These replacement o-rings ensure that your shock absorbers maintain proper fluid sealing and damping characteristics, which is vital for consistent handling and ride quality across all terrain types.

If you are an experienced RC enthusiast in the UK or just discovering the world of scale crawling, understanding the importance of suspension maintenance is key to getting the most out of your Axial SCX10 III. Shock o-rings deteriorate over time due to exposure to dirt, mud, water and the constant cycling of your suspension during off-road driving. By keeping a spare set of these o-rings on hand, you can quickly restore your shocks to factory specifications and maintain the precision performance that Axial is known for in the rock crawling and scale RC car community.

This genuine Axial spare part is designed to work seamlessly with multiple SCX10 III variants, making it an excellent addition to any RC enthusiast's spare parts collection. Whether you are bashing in the garden, competing at an RC event, or enjoying trail runs with fellow hobbyists, having the correct replacement parts available means less downtime and more time enjoying your RC model.

Key Features

  • Genuine Axial Spare Part — This is an authentic Axial manufactured component, ensuring perfect compatibility and reliability with your SCX10 III rock crawler, giving you confidence that you are using factory-standard replacement parts.
  • Universal SCX10 III Compatibility — These shock o-rings are compatible with an extensive range of SCX10 III models including the Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals, Base Camp 4WD, Coyote 4X4, 1987 Toyota SR5, Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10, Early Ford Bronco, and Jeep CJ-7 variants, making this a versatile spare for multiple RC crawler builds.
  • Essential Suspension Maintenance — Shock o-rings are critical wear components that prevent fluid leakage from your dampers and maintain consistent damping performance, directly affecting ride quality, handling stability and off-road capability.
  • Easy Replacement — As a straightforward spare part, these o-rings can be replaced during routine shock servicing without requiring advanced technical knowledge or specialist tools, making maintenance accessible to all skill levels.
  • Cost-Effective Solution — Replacing worn o-rings is significantly more economical than replacing entire shock absorbers, making this a budget-friendly way to maintain your suspension at peak performance.

Technical Performance

The Axial Shock O-Ring Set comprises replacement sealing rings designed specifically for the shock dampers fitted to SCX10 III rock crawlers. These o-rings play a crucial role in maintaining proper shock fluid containment and damping characteristics essential for precise suspension performance across challenging terrain. Made to exact Axial specifications, these rings are engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of off-road RC driving, including exposure to mud, water, rocks and continuous compression and extension cycles. The o-rings work in conjunction with your shock absorbers to provide consistent damping, ensuring that your rock crawler maintains traction, stability and predictable handling during technical climbs, descents and obstacles. Regular replacement of worn o-rings is part of responsible RC ownership and prevents more costly damage to your shock bodies or internal components. The durability and reliability of genuine Axial parts mean you can trust these replacements to perform just as the original equipment did, maintaining the factory performance characteristics that make SCX10 III crawlers so popular among RC enthusiasts across the UK and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are shock o-rings and why do I need them? — Shock o-rings are rubber sealing rings inside your shock absorbers that prevent damping fluid from leaking out. Over time, these rings wear out due to constant compression and exposure to dirt and water, causing your shocks to lose damping performance. Replacing worn o-rings restores your suspension to factory specifications and ensures consistent ride quality and handling.
  • Which Axial SCX10 III models are compatible with this o-ring set? — This set is compatible with a comprehensive range of SCX10 III variants including the Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR, SCX10 III Base Camp 4WD Kit, Base Camp RTR in both grey and white, Coyote 4X4 RTR in silver and blue, 1987 Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR, SCX10 III Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10 RTR, Early Ford Bronco RTR in both blue and white, and Jeep CJ-7 4X4 RTR in red and copper finishes.
  • How often should I replace my shock o-rings? — The frequency of replacement depends on how intensively you use your RC crawler. Heavy bashers and competition drivers should check their shock o-rings every few months, while casual weekend drivers may go longer between replacements. Signs of wear include loss of damping feel, visible fluid leakage around shock bodies, and reduced handling precision.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, replacing shock o-rings is one of the more straightforward maintenance tasks in RC hobby and does not require advanced technical skills. Many beginners can perform this service with basic tools. However, if you are new to RC maintenance, consulting your SCX10 III manual or watching instructional videos is recommended.
  • What tools do I need to replace the o-rings? — While specific tool requirements are not detailed in the source, shock o-ring replacement typically requires basic RC maintenance tools such as screwdrivers and possibly some simple disassembly tools. For detailed instructions, refer to your SCX10 III manual or contact RC Model Shop for guidance.
  • Can I use non-genuine o-rings as a cheaper alternative? — Whilst aftermarket o-rings may be available at lower cost, genuine Axial parts are engineered to exact factory specifications and are guaranteed to fit and function correctly. Using genuine Axial o-rings ensures reliability and maintains warranty coverage on your suspension system.
