Key Features
- 2.2-inch Compatibility — These beadlock rings are specifically engineered to work with 2.2-inch scale tyres, which are the industry standard for Axial crawlers and other 1/10 scale rock crawlers, ensuring perfect fitment without modification.
- Beadlock Design — The beadlock function prevents tyre bead separation during extreme suspension articulation and challenging rock crawling terrain, which is critical for maintaining control and preventing loss of grip during technical climbs.
- Grey Colour Finish — The grey finish provides an authentic, scale-appropriate appearance that complements modern rock crawler builds whilst maintaining a professional, finished look on your RC vehicle.
- Genuine Axial Manufacturing — These rings are manufactured by Axial Racing to OEM specifications, guaranteeing quality, durability, and compatibility with all genuine Axial wheels and most compatible aftermarket alternatives.
- Pair Pack — Each package contains two beadlock rings, allowing you to upgrade both wheels on an axle or maintain a complete spare set for uninterrupted crawling sessions.
- Direct Replacement — As genuine Axial parts, these rings are designed as direct replacements for damaged or worn beadlock rings on existing Axial crawler builds, requiring no modification or fitting complications.
Technical Performance
The AXIAL AX8117 beadlock rings are engineered from high-quality materials designed to withstand the demanding requirements of RC rock crawling. The beadlock ring design works in conjunction with matching wheels to clamp the tyre bead securely, preventing separation during extreme angles and challenging terrain where standard wheels might fail. This is particularly important in competitive rock crawling environments and technical courses where vehicles encounter steep inclines, ledges, and sustained articulation. The grey colour is a durable finish that resists fading during outdoor use, maintaining its appearance throughout extended crawling sessions. These rings are compatible with 2.2-inch scale tyres commonly used on 1/10 scale Axial crawlers, including popular models and custom builds. The engineering ensures reliable performance across various terrain types, from rocky hillsides to technical club courses, making them suitable for both recreational weekend bashing and serious competition use.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are beadlock rings and why do RC crawlers need them? — Beadlock rings are mechanical clamps that secure the tyre bead to the wheel, preventing tyre separation during extreme suspension movement and technical rock crawling. Standard wheels can allow tyres to separate during severe articulation, causing loss of grip and potential crashes. Beadlock rings maintain constant tyre pressure contact with the ground, which is essential for reliable performance in challenging terrain across UK rock crawling courses.
- Are these compatible with my RC rock crawler? — These rings are engineered for 2.2-inch scale tyres and are genuine Axial Racing parts, making them compatible with all Axial crawler wheels designed for 2.2-inch tyres. If your RC vehicle uses 2.2-inch wheels and is a genuine Axial model or a custom build using compatible components, these beadlock rings will work correctly. We recommend confirming your wheel specifications before ordering.
- How many beadlock rings do I need? — Typically, each wheel requires one beadlock ring, so you will need four rings for a complete four-wheel vehicle setup. This pack contains two rings, so you may need to purchase additional packs depending on your needs. Many RC enthusiasts keep spare sets on hand for competition or extended crawling sessions.
- Will these rings fit aftermarket wheels? — These genuine Axial beadlock rings are designed to fit Axial wheels and many compatible aftermarket 2.2-inch scale wheels, but compatibility depends on the specific wheel design. We recommend checking your wheel manufacturer's specifications or contacting our RC Model Shop team for clarification on compatibility with your specific setup.
- Are these suitable for beginners to RC crawling? — Beadlock rings are primarily used by enthusiasts who engage in serious rock crawling and technical climbing. Beginner RC car owners may not immediately need beadlock rings if they are using standard ready-to-run RC vehicles, but upgrading to beadlocks is an excellent step as you progress in the hobby and tackle more challenging terrain.
- What is the difference between beadlock rings and standard wheel retainers? — Standard wheel retainers simply hold the wheel onto the axle, whilst beadlock rings additionally clamp the tyre bead to the wheel. This clamping action prevents tyre separation during extreme articulation, providing superior performance in rock crawling compared to standard systems, which is why beadlocks are considered essential for serious crawlers.
