Overview
The Axial AR60 Machined Link Mounts (Hard Anodised) are precision-engineered suspension components designed for RC enthusiasts building or upgrading Axial AR60-based vehicles. Whether you're constructing a competition-grade RC monster truck, rock crawler, or custom RC car in the UK, these machined link mounts provide the adjustability and durability needed for serious performance. The AR60 axle system has become the go-to choice for custom builders and racers who want to move beyond entry-level platforms, offering significantly superior performance compared to older solid-axle designs whilst maintaining excellent scale appearance.
These genuine Axial parts are manufactured from 6061 aluminium and precision CNC machined to exacting standards, then hard anodised to provide exceptional durability and corrosion resistance. The hard anodised finish protects the aluminium against the rigours of off-road RC racing, whether you're bashing in mud, water, or sand. Each pair comes laser etched with Axial logos, confirming their authenticity as genuine Axial components. For builders investing in an AR60-based build, these link mounts are a critical element of the suspension geometry, offering the adjustability required to fine-tune handling characteristics for competitive racing or recreational driving.
The AR60 axle system has proven itself in high-performance RC competition, with builders achieving excellent results in side-by-side monster truck racing, rock crawling events, and custom build competitions across the UK and beyond. If you're constructing an AR60-based RC monster truck or upgrading an existing build with competition-grade suspension components, these machined link mounts are an essential upgrade that will enhance both performance and reliability.
Key Features
- CNC Machined 6061 Aluminium Construction — These link mounts are precision machined from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminium, which offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that is essential for competitive RC performance and ensures the mounts can withstand the forces generated during aggressive driving and racing.
- Hard Anodised Finish — The hard anodised coating provides superior protection against corrosion, impact damage, and UV degradation, ensuring these mounts maintain their appearance and structural integrity even after extended use in challenging outdoor conditions typical of RC driving in the UK.
- Multiple Mounting Holes for Adjustability — With three hole positions for both shocks and links, these mounts offer exceptional flexibility in suspension geometry tuning, allowing builders to dial in the exact handling characteristics needed for their specific racing application, whether that's a monster truck, crawler, or other AR60-based platform.
- Laser Etched Axial Logos — The authentic laser etching provides visual confirmation of genuine Axial components whilst also adding a professional finished appearance to your custom RC build.
- Universal AR60 Compatibility — These link mounts are compatible with all vehicles using Axial AR60 axles, making them an ideal upgrade component for any AR60-based build, including custom monster trucks, rock crawlers, and competition vehicles.
- Proven in Competition — The AR60 suspension geometry and components have been validated through extensive use in competitive RC racing, offering proven performance benefits and reliability for serious builders and competitors.
Technical Performance
The Axial AR60 link mounts represent a significant step forward in RC suspension engineering compared to older solid-axle designs. The AR60 axle system itself offers numerous advantages that make it the preferred choice for builders constructing high-performance RC monster trucks and crawlers. These mounts feature three distinct hole positions for both shock and link attachment, providing unprecedented adjustability in suspension geometry. This multi-position design allows builders to optimise caster angle, link angles, and shock placement to match their specific racing requirements and vehicle setup. The machined aluminium construction provides rigidity where it's needed whilst maintaining a lightweight profile that helps keep overall vehicle weight down—critical for achieving the agility and responsiveness demanded in competitive RC racing. The hard anodised finish offers durability comparable to factory racing components, resisting the wear and corrosion that softer aluminium or plastic alternatives would succumb to after repeated use. Builders utilising AR60 axles have reported that the axles offer streamlined design, easily adjustable caster, excellent steering geometry, and easy serviceability—all attributes that extend to these link mounts as critical components within the suspension system. Performance characteristics benefit from the adjustability these mounts provide, allowing fine-tuning of suspension geometry to manage torque twist (a characteristic of shaft-driven systems), control ride height, and optimise weight distribution for competitive advantage.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these link mounts suitable for building a competitive RC monster truck? — Yes, these are genuine Axial components specifically designed for AR60-based builds, and the AR60 axle system has become the preferred platform for builders constructing competition-grade monster trucks. High-performance builds utilising AR60 components with these adjustable link mounts have proven successful in both No Limit RC and RC Monster Truck Race Series events.
- What vehicles are these link mounts compatible with? — These mounts are compatible with all vehicles using Axial AR60 axles, including custom monster trucks, rock crawlers, and other AR60-based platforms. They offer universal fit across the entire AR60 component ecosystem.
- How do the multiple hole positions help with suspension tuning? — The three-hole design for both shocks and links allows builders to adjust suspension geometry precisely. By selecting different mounting positions, you can change caster angle, link angles, and shock placement to optimise handling for your specific racing conditions, terrain, and driving style.
- Will these parts work with aftermarket upgrades from other manufacturers? — Yes, these Axial link mounts are part of the standard AR60 specification and will integrate with AR60-compatible components from other aftermarket manufacturers, allowing for flexible customisation and upgrading of your build.
- What makes hard anodised aluminium better than standard aluminium or plastic alternatives? — Hard anodising creates a protective oxide layer on the aluminium surface that is harder and more durable than standard anodising. This provides superior resistance to corrosion, impacts, and UV damage, making these mounts more reliable for competitive use and extended outdoor RC driving in variable UK weather conditions.
- Are these genuine Axial parts? — Yes, these are genuine Axial components, confirmed by laser etching with authentic Axial logos. Purchasing genuine components ensures you receive OEM quality, proper fit, and parts that have been tested and validated through Axial's engineering and extensive real-world competition use.
