Overview
The ARRMA Ball Bearing 6x16x5mm 2RS (2) Z-ARA610047 is an essential replacement bearing set for RC enthusiasts and dedicated bashers who demand reliable performance from their ARRMA vehicles. Whether you're maintaining your RC car UK collection, upgrading worn components, or building a competition-ready machine, these precision ball bearings are engineered to deliver smooth, consistent operation. As a UK RC hobbyist, you'll appreciate the importance of quality bearing replacement parts that keep your brushless RC models running at peak performance.
These bearings are specifically designed to fit ARRMA's range of high-performance RC vehicles, including the renowned 1/5 Kraton 4X4 8S BLX EXB Brushless Monster Truck RTR. Ball bearings are critical components in any RC vehicle, responsible for reducing friction in wheels, suspension, and drivetrain systems. When bearings wear out or develop play, it directly impacts handling, speed consistency, and overall driving experience. By choosing genuine ARRMA replacement bearings, you're ensuring your RC investment continues to perform as the manufacturer intended.
This bearing pack contains two individual bearings, providing you with replacement options for multiple mounting points or allowing for maintenance across your RC collection. The 2RS designation indicates these bearings feature rubber seals on both sides, offering enhanced protection against dirt, moisture, and debris commonly encountered during outdoor RC bashing and racing. For anyone serious about maintaining their ready to run RC vehicles and keeping them running smoothly, these bearings are an indispensable spare part.
Key Features
- Sealed design with 2RS protection — Both sides of each bearing are protected with rubber seals, which prevents contamination from dirt, dust, and water from entering the bearing races and maintaining smooth operation even in challenging outdoor conditions during RC car UK sessions.
- Precision ball bearing construction — These are genuine ARRMA ball bearings manufactured to strict engineering tolerances, ensuring low friction rotation and consistent performance that directly translates to better handling and reliability in your RC vehicle.
- Pair of bearings included — With two bearings in each pack, you have flexibility to replace bearings at multiple locations or maintain spare parts for your RC collection, ensuring you're never sidelined by worn bearing issues.
- Compatible with ARRMA Kraton 4X4 8S — These bearings are specifically engineered to fit the 1/5 Kraton 4X4 8S BLX EXB Brushless Monster Truck RTR, guaranteeing perfect fitment and compatibility with this powerful brushless RC model.
- 6x16x5mm dimensions — The specific size specification ensures accurate fitment in ARRMA's mounting points, maintaining proper axial and radial alignment critical for smooth operation and longevity.
- Genuine ARRMA replacement part — Using official ARRMA bearing replacements ensures you're maintaining your RC vehicle with components engineered specifically for its design, performance demands, and quality standards.
Technical Performance
Ball bearings are fundamental to RC vehicle performance, and these ARRMA units represent precision engineering designed for demanding conditions. The 6x16x5mm specification provides the exact size required for ARRMA's engineering standards, with the bore diameter of 6mm, outer diameter of 16mm, and width of 5mm creating the precise fitment necessary for optimal performance. The 2RS (two rubber seals) design is particularly important for UK RC bashers who frequently encounter wet grass, muddy terrain, and changeable weather conditions — the sealed construction prevents water ingress and contamination that would otherwise cause bearing degradation and loss of smooth operation. The quality of ball bearing construction directly impacts your brushless RC vehicle's performance; worn or damaged bearings introduce friction that reduces responsiveness, increases drag on motors, and can eventually lead to complete drivetrain failure. By replacing bearings proactively and using genuine ARRMA parts, you're maintaining the precision engineering that makes your RC car RTR experience satisfying and competitive. These bearings work in conjunction with your vehicle's suspension, drivetrain, and wheel systems to provide the smooth, predictable handling characteristics that separate well-maintained RC vehicles from neglected ones. The bearing race quality, ball diameter precision, and seal integrity all contribute to longevity and performance consistency during extended bashing sessions or competitive racing scenarios.
What's in the Box
- Two ball bearings (6x16x5mm 2RS)
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a 2RS bearing and why does it matter for my RC car? — The 2RS designation means this bearing has rubber seals (shields) on both sides (2RS = two rubber seals). These seals are crucial for protecting the bearing's internal ball races from dirt, moisture, and debris. When you're bashing your RC vehicle outdoors on UK terrain, water and mud can easily reach unprotected bearings. The 2RS design keeps contaminants out, which means less friction build-up, longer bearing life, and more consistent performance from your RC model over time.
- Are these bearings compatible with my ARRMA Kraton 4X4 8S BLX? — Yes, these ARRMA Ball Bearing 6x16x5mm 2RS units are specifically listed as compatible with the C-ARA5808V2T1 model designation, which corresponds to the ARRMA 1/5 Kraton 4X4 8S BLX EXB Brushless Monster Truck RTR. If you own this powerful brushless RC vehicle, these bearings will fit perfectly in the mounting points that require this size specification.
- How many bearings do I need to replace my RC vehicle's worn bearings? — That depends on your specific ARRMA model, as different RC vehicles use different numbers of bearings across wheels, suspension arms, and drivetrain components. However, this pack contains two bearings, so it's suitable for replacing bearings on a single axle or specific drivetrain points. You may need multiple packs depending on whether you're doing comprehensive bearing replacement across your entire RC vehicle.
- What is the difference between 2RS, 2RZ, and open ball bearings? — The 2RS designation indicates rubber seals on both sides, offering the best protection against contamination — ideal for outdoor RC bashers. 2RZ refers to metal shields instead of rubber seals, providing less protection but lower friction. Open bearings have no protection at all. For RC use, particularly in UK weather conditions and outdoor terrain, 2RS bearings are the premium choice because they balance protection with smooth operation.
- How often should I replace bearings on my brushless RC monster truck? — Bearing replacement frequency depends on usage intensity, maintenance habits, and environmental conditions. Heavy bashers might replace bearings every 20-30 hours of use, whilst casual users might go much longer. Signs of worn bearings include grinding noises, inconsistent handling, reduced top speed, or visible play in wheels or suspension. Using sealed 2RS bearings and regular maintenance can extend bearing life significantly.
- Can I use these bearings in other RC models besides the Kraton 4X4 8S? — These bearings are engineered specifically for ARRMA compatibility, and the 6x16x5mm size is used in various ARRMA models. However, to ensure perfect fitment and performance, you should verify that your specific RC vehicle uses this exact bearing size in its design specifications before installing.
