Overview
The ARRMA Shock Springs 70mm, 0.8N/mm (4.74lb/in) are precision-engineered replacement springs designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand tuning flexibility and consistent performance from their RC models. Whether you're running an RC buggy, RC truck, or any compatible ARRMA platform, these shock springs allow you to fine-tune your vehicle's handling characteristics in seconds, making them an essential part of any RC car UK competitor's spares collection. These high-quality shock springs are manufactured from precision spring steel to ensure long-lasting durability and reliable performance across countless runs.
If you're looking to optimise your suspension setup and achieve the perfect balance between ride comfort and responsive handling, these shock springs represent outstanding value for money. Available as a pair, they're ideal for replacing worn springs or experimenting with different spring rates to suit your preferred driving style and terrain conditions. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying your ready to run RC vehicle on local tracks, or a competitive racer seeking marginal gains in vehicle performance, having quality spare shock springs on hand is essential for maximising your RC experience.
The 0.8N/mm spring rate sits in the medium range, making these springs versatile enough for a wide variety of driving conditions and model types. When you need to adjust your vehicle's suspension stiffness to match changing track conditions or weather, simply swap out your springs in seconds without requiring any special tools or technical expertise. This makes them perfect for RC enthusiasts of all skill levels who want to take control of their vehicle's handling dynamics and unlock the full potential of their RC buggy or truck.
Key Features
- Precision Manufactured Spring Steel — Each spring is manufactured from high-grade spring steel using precision engineering techniques, ensuring consistent performance and uniform spring rates across the pair, which is critical for balanced vehicle handling and predictable suspension response during aggressive driving.
- 0.8N/mm Spring Rate — This medium spring rate (also expressed as 4.74lb/in) provides an excellent balance between bump compliance and support, making these springs suitable for a wide range of terrains and driving styles from casual backyard bashing to competitive racing.
- 70mm Length — The 70mm length is specifically engineered to fit standard ARRMA shock towers, ensuring proper suspension geometry and ride height for optimal performance characteristics.
- Pair Included — You receive two springs in each package, providing everything you need for a complete rear or front suspension refresh, or allowing you to maintain spares for quick track-side adjustments.
- Instant Tuning Capability — By swapping springs, you can instantly modify your vehicle's suspension stiffness to adapt to different track conditions, weather changes, or driving preferences without requiring tools or disassembly beyond basic shock removal.
- Durable Construction — The precision-manufactured steel construction ensures these springs will withstand repeated compression and extension cycles without losing their rate or developing permanent deformation, providing reliable performance over an extended lifespan.
Technical Performance
These ARRMA shock springs represent a carefully engineered suspension component designed to deliver consistent performance across diverse RC driving scenarios. The 70mm length has been precisely calculated to work seamlessly with ARRMA's suspension architecture, ensuring proper suspension geometry, correct ride height, and predictable handling balance. The 0.8N/mm spring rate (4.74lb/in) strikes an intelligent middle ground between supporting vehicle weight and chassis load while remaining compliant enough to absorb track imperfections and terrain variations. The precision-manufactured spring steel construction guarantees that both springs in the pair maintain identical rates, which is essential for preventing uneven vehicle behaviour, unpredictable handling, or premature tyre wear. This material choice and manufacturing standard ensures the springs maintain their performance characteristics over thousands of compression cycles without sagging, losing rate, or developing kinks that would compromise suspension response. For UK RC enthusiasts running everything from casual weekend RC buggies to competition-focused setups, these springs deliver the consistency and reliability required to achieve repeatable results and make accurate suspension adjustments during tuning sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which ARRMA models are compatible with these 70mm shock springs? — These springs are listed as standard parts for the ARRMA 1/8 TYPHON 6S TLR Tuned 4X4 models (both the Roller Brushless Buggy and RTR Brushless Buggy versions). For compatibility with other ARRMA models, we recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting us directly for guidance on fitment.
- What does the 0.8N/mm spring rate mean and how does it compare to other options? — The 0.8N/mm (4.74lb/in) specification indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one millimetre. This medium spring rate is suitable for general-purpose driving; softer springs compress more easily for smoother ride quality over rough terrain, whilst stiffer springs provide more support and resistance, particularly beneficial for high-speed driving or when carrying extra payload weight.
- Are these shock springs difficult to install? — No, these are straightforward to install. Simply remove your existing shocks from the vehicle, unscrew the old springs from the shock towers, fit the new springs onto the shock bodies, and reinstall the shocks back into the vehicle. No special tools are required for this basic maintenance task.
- How often should I replace my shock springs? — Spring replacement frequency depends on usage intensity. Casual RC car UK users might find springs last many seasons, whilst competitive racers who run frequently may replace them more often to ensure consistent performance characteristics and maintain uniform spring rates across multiple sets.
- Can I mix different spring rates on the same vehicle? — It is not recommended, as mixing springs with different rates will create handling imbalances, uneven weight distribution, and unpredictable vehicle behaviour. For optimal performance, always use springs with matching rates on the same axle.
- What is the advantage of having spare shock springs? — Spare springs allow you to quickly adjust your suspension setup between sessions without waiting for new parts to arrive, enabling rapid testing of different spring rates to find the optimal setup for varying track conditions, weather, or driving styles.
