Overview

The ARRMA Shock Springs, 72mm 0.97N/mm (5.54lbf/in) are precision-engineered suspension components designed to deliver optimal performance for your ARRMA RC vehicle. These high-quality shock springs have been meticulously selected to provide the perfect balance of suspension performance, ensuring your RC car UK handles smoothly across a variety of terrains and driving conditions. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast or discovering the world of ready to run RC vehicles for the first time, maintaining and upgrading your suspension components is essential for achieving the best possible handling characteristics and prolonging the life of your model.

ARRMA has built its reputation on delivering high-performance brushless RC vehicles that demand equally high-quality replacement parts and upgrades. These shock springs are a critical component of your vehicle's suspension system, working in conjunction with your shock absorbers to provide damping, support, and stability during high-speed runs, jumps, and aggressive cornering. The 0.97N/mm spring rate (5.54lbf/in) makes these springs suitable for a range of ARRMA models, allowing you to fine-tune your vehicle's suspension setup to match your driving style and terrain preferences.

Investing in genuine ARRMA replacement parts ensures compatibility, reliability, and performance. These shock springs are not just spares—they are engineered components that directly influence how your RC truck, buggy, or truggy performs on the track or off-road. With proper suspension tuning using quality components like these, you'll experience improved traction, better stability during acceleration and braking, and more predictable handling in all conditions.

Key Features

  • Strong and durable spring steel construction — These shock springs are manufactured from high-grade spring steel that resists fatigue and maintains consistent performance over extended use. This durability ensures that your suspension system remains reliable whether you're enjoying casual weekend bashing or competitive racing, providing long-lasting value for your investment in your RC hobby.
  • Precision manufactured for fast and easy fit — Each spring is manufactured to exact tolerances, ensuring that installation onto your shock absorbers is straightforward and requires no modification or adjustment. This precision engineering means you can spend less time on maintenance and more time enjoying your RC car, making these springs ideal for busy enthusiasts who want reliability without complications.
  • Painted black for stealth looks — The black finish provides an aggressive, professional appearance that complements modern RC vehicle designs. Beyond aesthetics, the paint also offers a protective layer that helps resist corrosion and wear, maintaining the visual appeal of your RC truck or buggy even after extended use in outdoor conditions.
  • Optimised 0.97N/mm spring rate — The 0.97N/mm (5.54lbf/in) spring rate has been carefully selected to provide responsive suspension geometry that suits a variety of driving styles and terrain types. This moderate spring rate balances compliance for bump absorption with enough support to maintain proper ride height and suspension geometry during aggressive driving, making it suitable for both bashing and more technical track work.
  • Included in matched pair — You receive two shock springs in this package, providing front and rear suspension upgrades or allowing you to replace both springs when required. Having matched springs ensures balanced suspension performance across both axles, which is critical for predictable handling characteristics and even wear patterns.

Technical Performance

These ARRMA shock springs represent the company's commitment to engineering excellence in RC suspension systems. The 72mm length combined with the 24mm outer diameter and 1.70mm wire diameter creates a spring that delivers the 0.97N/mm spring rate with excellent durability and response characteristics. The spring rate is the critical specification here—it determines how much force is required to compress the spring by one millimetre, directly affecting how your vehicle's chassis responds to bumps, landings, and acceleration forces. A 0.97N/mm rate is considered a moderate spring rate, suitable for general-purpose RC driving across various conditions. The precision manufacturing process ensures that both springs in the pair deliver identical performance characteristics, which is essential because mismatched springs would cause uneven suspension behaviour and unpredictable handling. The high-quality spring steel used in construction has been heat-treated and finished to withstand the repetitive compression and extension cycles that occur during normal RC driving, whether you're running a 1/8 scale brushless RC speed truck or tackling challenging terrain with your ARRMA model. The black paint finish not only provides aesthetic appeal but also offers a layer of corrosion resistance, protecting the steel beneath from moisture and salt exposure that can occur during outdoor use. These springs work in concert with your vehicle's dampers and other suspension components to provide the complete suspension system performance that ARRMA vehicles are known for.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which ARRMA models are these shock springs compatible with? — These 72mm shock springs with a 0.97N/mm spring rate are designed to fit a range of ARRMA vehicles, including the 1/8 KRATON 6S V6 4x4 BLX Speed Monster Truck RTR models (available in pink, blue, orange, and green variants), and the 1/8 NOTORIOUS 6S V6 4x4 BLX Stunt Truck RTR (available in blue and black). They are also compatible with larger ARRMA models including the 1/7 BIG ROCK 6S, 1/7 FIRETEAM 6S, and other 1/8 scale brushless vehicles from the ARRMA range. Always check your specific model's documentation to confirm fitment before purchase.
  • How often should I replace my shock springs? — Shock springs should be replaced when they become damaged, bent, or lose their ability to return to their original shape after compression. Signs of wear include visible damage to the spring coils, inconsistent suspension response, or if your vehicle sits lower than normal. For regular bashers, springs may last many months or even years of use, but competitive racers who subject their vehicles to extreme forces may need to replace springs more frequently. Regular inspection during maintenance sessions will help you identify when replacement is necessary.
  • What is the difference between different spring rates? — Spring rate is measured in N/mm (Newtons per millimetre) or lbf/in (pounds-force per inch), indicating how much force is needed to compress the spring by one unit of distance. Lower spring rates (softer springs) compress more easily and provide better bump absorption, making them suitable for rough terrain or high-speed bashing. Higher spring rates (stiffer springs) resist compression more, maintaining ride height better and improving suspension response for technical driving or racing. The 0.97N/mm rate of these ARRMA springs is a moderate, versatile option suitable for general-purpose driving across various conditions.
  • Are these original ARRMA parts? — Yes, these are genuine ARRMA replacement parts manufactured to OEM specifications. The part number Z-ARA330782 corresponds to ARRMA's official ARA330782 designation, ensuring you receive authentic components that meet ARRMA's quality standards. Using genuine parts guarantees compatibility with your vehicle and maintains the performance characteristics your ARRMA model was engineered to deliver.
  • Can I use different spring rates in front and rear? — Yes, many RC enthusiasts experiment with different spring rates in front and rear to fine-tune their vehicle's handling characteristics. Using stiffer springs in the rear while keeping softer springs in front can increase stability during acceleration, while the opposite setup can increase responsiveness. However, for best results, especially if you're new to suspension tuning, it's recommended to start with matched pairs of springs throughout your vehicle and make adjustments gradually as you develop your tuning skills.
