The 2000cSt oil specification provides the ideal viscosity balance for responsive damping without sacrificing stability, making these shocks suitable for both track racing and bashing applications.
For UK RC car enthusiasts looking to upgrade or replace worn suspension components, this genuine ARRMA shock set offers exceptional value and reliability. Whether you're preparing for an important race, extending the life of a beloved basher, or building up a complete RC vehicle from spares, the ARRMA Shock Set represents genuine quality that won't let you down.
Key Features
- 16mm Bore Diameter — The 16mm bore size is a critical specification that determines how the shock absorber mounts onto your RC car's suspension arms and how it interacts with the suspension geometry. This specific bore diameter matches the mounting points on compatible ARRMA models, ensuring proper fitment and suspension alignment that directly impacts handling and cornering performance.
- 131mm Overall Length — The precisely measured 131mm length ensures that the shocks maintain the correct ride height and suspension travel for your RC vehicle. Proper suspension geometry is absolutely fundamental to how your car behaves during acceleration, braking, and cornering, making this specification critical for optimal performance.
- 2000cSt Oil Viscosity — The 2000cSt oil specification represents a carefully balanced damping fluid that provides the sweet spot between responsiveness and stability. Higher viscosity oil creates firmer damping, which helps prevent excessive suspension movement and keeps the chassis planted during aggressive driving, whilst remaining nimble enough for technical track sections or rough terrain.
- Genuine ARRMA Component — These are authentic ARRMA parts manufactured to the same quality standards as the vehicles they're designed for. Using genuine components ensures perfect compatibility, reliable performance, and the assurance that you're installing parts engineered by the same team that designed your RC vehicle.
- Replacement Suspension Set — Whether your original shocks have worn out from intensive use, suffered damage during a crash, or you're simply upgrading your suspension setup, this complete shock set gives you everything needed to refresh your vehicle's damping system in one purchase.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Shock Set 16mm Bore, 131mm Length, 2000cSt Oil represents the intersection of precision engineering and practical performance. The 16mm bore diameter is a standardised measurement that integrates seamlessly with ARRMA's suspension architecture, whilst the 131mm length has been calculated to maintain optimal suspension travel and ride height geometry. The 2000cSt oil viscosity is the result of extensive testing and development, delivering damping characteristics that strike the perfect balance for modern RC vehicles. This viscosity level is thick enough to provide positive control during high-speed runs and aggressive cornering, preventing the suspension from topping out or bottoming out unexpectedly, yet fluid enough to respond quickly to terrain variations and suspension inputs. Whether you're running these shocks on a high-speed track, rough off-road terrain, or mixed conditions, the 2000cSt specification will keep your vehicle planted and predictable. ARRMA's manufacturing processes ensure consistency from one shock to the next, meaning you'll experience identical damping characteristics across your entire suspension setup. This level of quality control is especially important in competitive RC racing, where even tiny variations in suspension behaviour can affect lap times and consistency. The materials and seals used in these shocks are built to withstand the rigours of intensive RC use, from high ambient temperatures during summer bashing sessions to the mechanical stresses of landing jumps and absorbing impacts.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will these ARRMA shocks fit my RC car? — The 16mm bore diameter and 131mm length are specific dimensions designed for certain ARRMA models. Before purchasing, confirm that your RC vehicle is compatible with these specifications. If you're unsure which shocks your model requires, contact our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop, and we'll help you identify the correct suspension components for your vehicle.
- What does 2000cSt oil viscosity mean and how does it affect performance? — cSt stands for centistokes, a measurement of oil thickness or viscosity. 2000cSt is a relatively thick damping fluid that provides strong damping force, making the suspension resistant to movement. This specification is ideal for vehicles that need stable, controlled handling, especially during high-speed running or aggressive driving. If you find your car is too bouncy or unstable, stiffer 2000cSt oil is your answer. Conversely, if you want a softer, more compliant ride, you can experiment with lower viscosity oils.
- What is the difference between 16mm and other bore sizes? — The bore diameter directly affects the damping force and suspension stiffness. A 16mm bore is a common size for 1/10-scale and similar RC vehicles. Larger bore sizes (like 18mm or 20mm) generate greater damping force and are typically found on larger or heavier vehicles. Smaller bores produce gentler damping. The 16mm size offers a balanced approach suitable for a wide range of driving conditions and skill levels.
- How often should I replace my RC shocks? — Shock life depends heavily on usage intensity and driving conditions. Competitive racers might replace shocks several times per season due to the extreme demands of racing, whilst casual bashers might go much longer. Signs of wear include leaking oil, loss of damping responsiveness, or visible damage to the shock body. Worn shocks will noticeably affect your vehicle's handling, making it harder to drive smoothly. If you notice your car becoming unpredictable or bouncy, it's time to investigate your suspension.
- Can I use these shocks on a different brand of RC car? — These are ARRMA-specific components designed for particular mounting points and suspension geometries. Using them on non-compatible vehicles is not recommended, as they won't fit correctly and could affect your car's handling and safety. Stick with shocks designed specifically for your vehicle brand and model.
- Is this product suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement component rather than a complete vehicle or beginner-focused product. If you already own an ARRMA RC car and are comfortable performing basic maintenance and repairs, replacing your shocks is a straightforward upgrade. Beginners new to the hobby might want to start with a ready-to-run RC vehicle before diving into component replacement, but once you're confident handling your car, upgrading shocks is a logical progression.
