Overview

The ARRMA Rear Shock Tower in CNC 7075 T6 Aluminum is a premium chassis upgrade designed for serious RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand durability and performance from their vehicles. This component is purpose-built to replace the standard rear shock tower on select ARRMA 1/8 scale models, offering a significant upgrade in strength and rigidity for enhanced handling and reliability during aggressive bashing sessions. Whether you're running a Kraton, Outcast, or Notorious 6S 4x4 brushless RC truck, this rear shock tower provides the structural integrity needed to handle the demands of high-speed terrain.

Manufactured to the highest standards by ARRMA, an industry-leading RC brand recognised for producing some of the toughest ready-to-run RC vehicles available in the UK market, this shock tower component delivers professional-grade performance at an accessible price point. The distinctive light red anodised finish not only complements the ARRMA Extreme Bash (EXB) aesthetic perfectly but also provides corrosion resistance for extended durability in all weather conditions. RC enthusiasts, whether weekend bashers enjoying outdoor RC car action or competitive drivers looking to fine-tune their setups, will appreciate the attention to detail and engineering excellence evident in every aspect of this component.

This is an essential upgrade for anyone seeking to maximise the performance and longevity of their ARRMA brushless RC truck. The rear shock tower is a critical structural element of the chassis, and investing in a CNC-machined aluminium component ensures your vehicle maintains optimal suspension geometry and responsiveness throughout countless hours of driving.

Key Features

  • CNC Machined 7075-T6 Aluminium Construction — This rear shock tower is precision-engineered using computer numerical control (CNC) machining from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium alloy, one of the strongest and most durable aluminium available for RC applications. The T6 heat treatment process ensures maximum hardness and strength-to-weight ratio, making the component incredibly stiff and resistant to bending or deformation under extreme racing conditions.
  • Exceptional Stiffness and Durability — The high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium material is renowned for its ability to withstand repeated impacts and stress without flexing, which is critical for maintaining consistent suspension performance and chassis geometry. A stiffer shock tower means more predictable handling, better energy transfer through the suspension system, and improved overall vehicle control whether you're bashing through rough terrain or competing on a closed course.
  • Anodised Light Red Finish — The factory anodisation process applies a protective oxide layer in ARRMA's signature light red colour, which serves dual purposes: enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your RC truck with authentic Extreme Bash styling whilst simultaneously protecting the aluminium from corrosion, oxidation, and weathering. This finish is far more durable than standard paint and will maintain its appearance through countless bashing sessions.
  • Laser Etched EXB Logo — The ARRMA Extreme Bash logo is precision laser-etched directly into the aluminium surface, adding a professional touch and instantly identifying this as a genuine ARRMA component. This detail demonstrates the quality of manufacture and adds to the overall visual appeal of your upgraded chassis.
  • Multiple Shock Mounting Positions — This rear shock tower features multiple shock mounting positions, allowing advanced tuning and suspension geometry adjustments. By repositioning your shocks between different mounting holes, you can fine-tune suspension stiffness, ride height, and handling characteristics to suit your driving style and terrain conditions, giving you greater control over your vehicle's performance.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Rear Shock Tower represents the pinnacle of chassis component engineering for 1/8 scale brushless RC trucks. Manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminium, the same material used in aerospace applications for its exceptional strength and minimal weight penalty, this shock tower delivers the rigidity needed to support the powerful brushless motor systems found in vehicles like the Kraton 6S, Outcast 6S, and Notorious 6S 4x4 brushless models. The CNC machining process ensures tolerances are held to exacting standards, meaning each shock tower is identical and will fit perfectly with your existing chassis components. The anodised finish provides corrosion resistance, making this component suitable for use in wet conditions and challenging UK climates. With multiple shock mounting positions engineered into the design, drivers can adjust suspension geometry to optimise performance across different terrain types and driving conditions, from high-speed circuits to obstacle-laden outdoor bashing environments. The combination of material science, precision manufacturing, and thoughtful design makes this rear shock tower an essential upgrade for maximising the lifespan and performance of your ARRMA 1/8 scale vehicle.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What ARRMA models does this rear shock tower fit? — This CNC 7075 T6 Aluminum Rear Shock Tower is compatible with the ARRMA 1/8 Kraton 6S 4x4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck, the ARRMA 1/8 Notorious 6S 4x4 RTR Brushless Stunt Truck, and the ARRMA 1/8 Outcast 6S 4x4 RTR Brushless Stunt Truck (including the Limited Edition version). If you own one of these brushless RC trucks, this component is a direct replacement for the standard plastic shock tower and represents a significant durability upgrade.
  • Why should I upgrade from the standard plastic shock tower? — The standard shock tower fitted to these models is typically made from injection-moulded plastic, which, whilst adequate for casual use, can flex under load and is prone to cracking or breaking during aggressive bashing or after impacts. This CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium shock tower is exponentially stiffer and more durable, maintaining consistent suspension geometry, improving handling precision, and providing years of reliable service. For anyone serious about RC car performance and longevity, this upgrade is highly recommended.
  • Is the 7075-T6 aluminium overkill for my RC truck? — Absolutely not. 7075-T6 is aerospace-grade material chosen specifically for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to fatigue and impact damage. Whilst it may seem excessive, remember that your brushless RC truck is capable of speeds exceeding 60+ mph and subjects the chassis components to enormous stresses. Using a premium material like 7075-T6 ensures your shock tower will outlast the rest of your vehicle and maintain optimal performance throughout its lifespan.
  • Can I adjust the suspension with the multiple shock mounting positions? — Yes, this is one of the key advantages of this shock tower design. The multiple mounting positions allow you to change the suspension geometry by repositioning your shock absorbers to different holes on the tower. This enables fine-tuning of suspension characteristics for different driving conditions, terrain types, and personal preferences. Experimenting with different mounting positions is an excellent way to optimise your vehicle's handling and performance.
  • What is the difference between anodised and painted finishes on RC parts? — Anodisation is an electrochemical process that creates a protective oxide layer on the surface of the aluminium, integral to the material itself. This finish is far more durable than paint, resistant to chipping and scratching, and provides superior corrosion protection. The light red anodised finish on this shock tower will maintain its appearance far longer than a painted component, even when exposed to moisture, salt, and UV light.
  • Is this a genuine ARRMA component? — Yes, this is an official ARRMA part manufactured to OEM (original equipment manufacturer) specifications. The ARRMA part number is ARA320583. Purchasing genuine ARRMA components ensures perfect fitment, guaranteed quality, and compatibility with your vehicle. Avoid counterfeit or aftermarket substitutes that may not meet the same manufacturing standards.
