Overview
The DYN Machined Hex Driver Metric Set in Red is an essential tool kit for any serious RC enthusiast working with metric fasteners on their RC cars, trucks, buggies and crawlers. Whether you're maintaining your RC car UK setup, performing regular maintenance on your RC buggy, or assembling new components, this professional-grade tool set delivers the precision and durability you need. The Dynamite Pro range is recognised across the RC hobby as a trusted source of quality maintenance tools, and this metric hex driver set represents outstanding value for money.
These aren't just any hex drivers — they're engineered specifically for RC work where precision matters. The set includes three essential metric sizes that cover the vast majority of fasteners found on modern RC vehicles, from electric RC buggies to scale crawlers and everything in between. If you're a weekend basher, a competition racer, or someone who takes pride in keeping your RC model in perfect condition, this tool set should be in your workshop.
The red anodised handles make these tools instantly recognisable in your tool box, and the machined construction means they'll stand up to years of heavy use. Replacement tips are available for all sizes, meaning you can keep these drivers working for the lifetime of your RC hobby. This is the kind of investment in quality tools that separates casual hobbyists from serious RC enthusiasts.
Key Features
- Hardened Steel Tips — The hex tips are precision-hardened to resist wear and deformation, which means they'll maintain an accurate fit in fasteners for years of use and won't round off the corners of your RC car's fasteners like cheap tools do.
- Metric Sizes Included — This set covers 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm hex sizes, which are the three most commonly found metric fasteners on modern RC vehicles including popular brands like ARRMA, Losi, Axial and other UK RC car manufacturers.
- Comfortable Anodised Handles — The handles feature a professional anodised finish that's both durable and comfortable to grip, giving you the control you need when working on delicate RC components.
- Flat Anti-Roll Design — Each handle has a flat side specifically engineered to prevent the tool rolling off your workbench, keeping your tools organised and within reach when you're in the middle of maintenance or setup adjustments.
- Replacement Tips Available — All three sizes have replacement tips available separately, meaning you never need to discard a tool with a worn tip — simply swap in a new one and you're back to precision work.
- Professional Build Quality — These are machined tools built to the standards expected by serious RC hobbyists, not flimsy bent-wire tools that bend out of shape after a few uses.
Technical Performance
The DYN Machined Hex Driver Metric Set represents professional-grade tool engineering applied to the RC hobby. Each driver features a precisely machined hex tip that's been hardened to exacting standards, ensuring that it maintains its fit and won't slip inside fasteners or round off sharp corners. The 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm sizes cover the standard metric fasteners found across the vast majority of modern RC vehicles, from small scale crawlers through to 1/10 buggies and trucks. The anodised aluminium handles provide both durability and a professional appearance, whilst the flat profile on one side of each handle prevents them rolling away during work — a seemingly small detail that makes a huge difference when you're working at a workbench surrounded by small parts. The hardened steel construction means these tools will outlast several complete RC vehicles, making them a sensible investment for anyone serious about their RC car UK hobby. Replacement tips are available in all three sizes, ensuring that even if a tip becomes worn over years of heavy use, you can simply swap in a fresh one rather than replace the entire tool.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What metric sizes are included in this hex driver set? — The DYN Machined Hex Driver Metric Set includes three essential sizes: 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm. These are the three most commonly found metric fasteners on modern RC cars, buggies and trucks sold in the UK, making this set suitable for most maintenance and assembly work.
- Are these hex drivers suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. These tools are designed for anyone who works on RC vehicles, whether you're brand new to the hobby or an experienced competitor. The comfortable handles and precise fit make them easy to use, and the durable construction means they'll last through years of learning and development.
- Can I buy replacement tips for these drivers? — Yes. Dynamite offers replacement tips in all three sizes (1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm), so if a tip ever becomes worn through heavy use, you don't need to buy an entire new driver — simply replace the tip and you're back to precision work.
- Why does the handle have a flat side? — The flat profile on one side of each handle is specifically designed to prevent the tool rolling off your workbench. This might seem like a small detail, but when you're working with dozens of small fasteners and tools spread across a workshop, having tools that stay where you put them makes a real difference to workflow and organisation.
- What's the difference between metric and imperial hex drivers? — Dynamite offers both metric (millimetre) and US (imperial/inch) versions of this hex driver set. This metric set covers metric fasteners with sizes like 1.5mm, 2.0mm and 2.5mm, whilst imperial versions cover US sizes. Most modern RC vehicles sold in the UK use metric fasteners, making this the right choice for contemporary models.
- Are these tools hardened? — Yes. The hex tips are hardened steel, which means they resist wear and deformation much better than soft-metal tools. This hardening ensures that the tip maintains its precise fit in fasteners and won't slip or round off the corners of your RC car's fasteners even after years of heavy use.
- What makes these tools different from cheap hex drivers? — These are precision-machined tools built to professional standards, unlike bent-wire tools or cheap stamped alternatives. The hardened steel tips won't slip in fasteners, the comfortable handles won't cause hand fatigue, and the flat profile prevents rolling. They're the kind of tools that actually make working on your RC vehicle enjoyable rather than frustrating.
