Overview

The SPM SRXL V2 Rx to Servo Male & Female to Female Cable P-SPMA3066 is an essential connectivity solution for RC enthusiasts in the UK who are building or upgrading their remote-controlled aircraft, helicopters, multi-rotor drones and FPV systems. This specialist adapter cable is designed specifically to work with Spektrum's advanced SRXL2 serial telemetry receivers, providing a seamless interface between your receiver and servo equipment. Whether you're a seasoned RC aircraft pilot, a helicopter enthusiast, or someone exploring the exciting world of FPV flying, this cable represents a critical component in establishing reliable control connections for your RC system.

Spektrum's SRXL2 technology has revolutionised remote control communication by offering bi-directional data transmission over a single signal wire, dramatically improving the way flight controllers and transmitters interact. This cable is engineered to facilitate that advanced communication protocol whilst maintaining the physical and electrical standards required for safe, interference-free operation. For RC hobbyists in the UK seeking to build high-performance setups with full telemetry functionality and enhanced control range, this adapter cable is an indispensable component that ensures your receiver can properly connect to all your servo devices without compromise.

This is not a receiver itself, but rather a vital accessory that unlocks the full potential of SRXL2-equipped Spektrum receivers. If you're working with the SPM4651T SRXL2 Serial Micro Receiver or other compatible Spektrum equipment, having the correct adapter cables on hand is essential for professional installation and reliable long-term performance.

Key Features

  • SRXL2 Compatible Design — This cable is specifically engineered to work with Spektrum's SRXL2 protocol receivers, ensuring full compatibility with the latest generation of Spektrum serial telemetry technology and maintaining the integrity of bi-directional communication between your receiver and flight controller.
  • Male to Female Configuration — The combination of male and female connectors provides flexible connection options, allowing you to adapt receiver outputs to servo inputs with ease and ensuring the cable can integrate seamlessly into your existing RC system architecture.
  • Servo-Grade Connector Standards — Built to industry-standard servo connector specifications, this cable maintains reliable electrical contact and mechanical security, preventing loose connections that could compromise flight safety or cause signal loss during critical moments.
  • Dual-Purpose Adapter Capability — The male-to-female-to-female configuration allows this single cable to function in multiple roles within your RC setup, maximising its utility and reducing the need to carry multiple specialist cables in your field bag.
  • Professional Installation Support — Whether you're setting up a new heli, multi-rotor, FPV platform or traditional RC aircraft, this cable provides the connection infrastructure needed for professional-grade installations where reliability and signal integrity are paramount.

Technical Performance

The SPM SRXL V2 Rx to Servo Male & Female to Female Cable is manufactured to the precision standards expected of Spektrum products, ensuring consistent electrical performance and mechanical durability. Spektrum's SRXL2 receivers, such as the SPM4651T, are renowned for their extremely fast serial data connection supporting up to 20 channels of control input, along with full-range telemetry capabilities that allow real-time feedback from your aircraft or drone back to your transmitter. The receiver operates across a wide voltage input range of 3.3V to 8.4V, making it compatible with various battery configurations commonly used in modern RC platforms. The receiver itself is remarkably compact, weighing just 0.14oz (4 grams) with dimensions of only 0.71 inches wide and 0.31 inches tall, making it ideal for weight-sensitive applications like racing drones, FPV platforms, and aerobatic helicopters where every gram counts. The dual diversity antennas featured on compatible receivers provide exceptional signal strength in all orientations, with extended 3.9-inch coaxial antenna leads that help maintain signal integrity even when carbon fibre structures, metal components and battery packs would otherwise shield the antenna elements. The DSMX 2.4GHz RF protocol delivers full-range performance with interference-free operation in the busy 2.4GHz frequency band. With a simple bind button for easy binding and no need for separate bind plugs, these systems prioritise user-friendliness alongside professional performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is this cable used for in RC systems? — This adapter cable connects Spektrum SRXL2 serial telemetry receivers to servo equipment and flight controllers, allowing the receiver's male connector to integrate with standard female servo ports. It's an essential component when building or upgrading RC aircraft, helicopters, multi-rotor drones, or FPV platforms that use Spektrum receivers.
  • Is this cable compatible with all Spektrum receivers? — This cable is specifically designed for SRXL2-equipped Spektrum receivers such as the SPM4651T DSMX SRXL2 Serial Micro Receiver. You should verify compatibility with your specific receiver model before purchasing, as not all Spektrum receivers use the SRXL2 protocol.
  • What does SRXL2 technology offer that older protocols don't? — SRXL2 is Spektrum's powerful, open-source communication protocol that provides a blazing-fast serial data connection supporting up to 20 channels of control input. Unlike older systems, SRXL2 enables bi-directional communication between your radio system and flight controller over a single signal wire, allowing you to access full telemetry functionality and configure flight control settings directly from your Spektrum transmitter without additional equipment.
  • Why would I need this cable for a ready-to-run RC setup? — If you're assembling a custom RC aircraft, helicopter, drone or FPV platform, or if you're upgrading an existing setup with Spektrum SRXL2 technology, this cable provides the physical connection infrastructure between your receiver and servo devices. It's particularly valuable for enthusiasts building professional-grade systems where signal integrity and reliable connections are critical.
  • What voltage do Spektrum SRXL2 receivers require? — Compatible receivers like the SPM4651T operate across a wide input voltage range of 3.3V to 8.4V, making them compatible with single-cell LiPo batteries (3.7V nominal) through to multiple-cell configurations. This flexibility is especially useful for compact FPV systems and multi-rotor platforms with varying battery architectures.
  • Is this suitable for beginners setting up their first RC system? — This cable is best suited for intermediate to advanced RC hobbyists who are already familiar with Spektrum receiver systems and basic RC electronics. Beginners should start with ready-to-run RTR RC car or aircraft kits that include all necessary connectivity components pre-installed.
