Overview
The LOGIC Futaba Y-Lead (HD) 300mm is an essential component for any RC enthusiast running Futaba-compatible radio systems. Whether you're building a competitive RC car in the UK, setting up an RC aircraft, or configuring a complex multi-servo installation, this heavy-duty Y-harness provides the reliability and connection quality you need for consistent performance. The Y-lead configuration allows you to split a single receiver channel into two separate servo connections, making it invaluable for applications requiring dual servos on a single control axis—such as differential braking systems, dual aileron control on aircraft, or symmetrical steering setups.
Built to the high standards expected from Logic RC, this 300mm Y-lead combines practical length with professional-grade construction. The 300mm measurement provides excellent routing flexibility across most RC builds, allowing you to position servos at varying distances from your receiver without excessive wire slack or tension. This length works equally well in compact 1/10 scale RC cars, medium-sized RC buggies, or larger platform RC vehicles where servo placement demands a balance between accessibility and neat cable management.
RC Model Shop stocks this component as part of our comprehensive range of receiver leads and connectors for all major radio systems. If you're upgrading your RC car UK setup, replacing worn connectors, or building a new RC model from scratch, quality interconnect components like this Y-lead are fundamental to achieving reliable control and smooth operation.
Key Features
- 300mm Length — This generous length provides flexible routing options across a wide range of RC builds, from compact 1/10 scale models to larger platforms, allowing you to position dual servos comfortably without excessive cable stretch or slack.
- Gold-Plated Connections — The gold plating on all connectors provides superior conductivity and corrosion resistance compared to standard brass connectors, ensuring clean signal transmission and reliable performance even after extended use or exposure to moisture.
- Heavy-Duty Construction — Built with robust materials throughout, this Y-lead withstands the vibration, flexing, and environmental stresses common in RC use, maintaining consistent contact integrity through countless operational hours.
- High-Quality Mouldings — The connectors feature precision-moulded housings that grip servo and receiver pins firmly without forcing or damaging the delicate contact surfaces, critical for maintaining long-term reliability.
- Premium Wire Quality — The internal wiring uses quality materials selected for flexibility and durability, resisting cracking and breakage from repeated bending while maintaining excellent signal integrity.
- Futaba Type Compatibility — This Y-lead is fully compatible with all Futaba-type receiver plugs and servo connectors, making it a drop-in solution for any Futaba radio system or compatible aftermarket electronics.
Technical Performance
The LOGIC Futaba Y-Lead represents professional-grade interconnect engineering for RC applications. Every aspect of its construction—from the gold-plated contact pins to the precision-moulded connector housings—has been engineered to maximise signal integrity and durability. The 300mm total length is measured to provide optimal spacing between the Y-junction and the two branch connectors, allowing both servo leads to exit naturally without kinking or excessive bending radius that could eventually compromise the internal wires. The gold plating serves a critical function beyond aesthetics; it provides a low-resistance contact surface that resists oxidation and ensures consistent electrical performance over time, something particularly important in moisture-prone environments or applications subject to temperature extremes. The heavy-duty construction means this lead will reliably handle the signal demands of modern digital servos and receivers without signal dropout, noise, or intermittent connection issues that plague cheaper alternatives. Whether you're running this in a competitive racing environment demanding absolute reliability, a scale model aircraft requiring smooth servo response, or a bashing RC car where durability is essential, this Y-lead delivers the performance and longevity expected from Logic RC components.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a Y-lead and why would I need one for my RC model? — A Y-lead splits a single servo channel from your receiver into two separate servo connections, allowing you to control two servos from one channel. This is essential for differential braking systems in RC cars where both wheels need independent brake control, dual aileron setups in RC aircraft, or any application requiring symmetrical dual-servo control.
- Is this compatible with my Futaba radio system? — Yes, this Y-lead is specifically designed for all Futaba-type receiver connectors and servo plugs, making it directly compatible with Futaba radio systems and any aftermarket receivers or servos using Futaba-standard connectors.
- How does the 300mm length compare to other available options? — Logic RC offers this Y-lead in multiple lengths including 150mm and 300mm variants. The 300mm option provides more routing flexibility for larger models or builds where servos are positioned further apart, whilst the 150mm version suits compact installations with tightly-spaced servos.
- Why are gold-plated connectors better than standard brass? — Gold plating provides superior electrical conductivity and, critically, resists oxidation far better than bare brass. Over time, brass connectors can develop oxide layers that create resistance and signal degradation, whilst gold-plated connectors maintain consistent low-resistance contact throughout their lifespan, particularly important for reliable servo response in competitive or precision-demanding applications.
- Can I use this lead with digital servos? — Absolutely. The heavy-duty construction and high-quality wiring ensure this Y-lead handles the demands of modern digital servos without signal noise or dropout. The gold-plated connectors provide the clean signal path that digital servos require for smooth, precise control.
- Is this suitable for outdoor RC use? — Yes. The gold-plated connections provide excellent corrosion resistance, and the heavy-duty construction handles environmental exposure well. However, for extended outdoor use, consider protecting connections from water ingress and store the model in a dry environment when not in use.
- What is the difference between the HD and silicone versions? — Logic RC produces both Heavy-Duty (HD) and silicone variants of their Y-leads. The HD version featured here uses robust standard materials optimised for durability and cost-effectiveness. The silicone variants feature softer, more flexible silicone-insulated wiring that's beneficial in extreme cold or applications requiring enhanced flexibility, though they typically command a premium price.
- How does this compare to other receiver leads in the Logic RC range? — Logic RC offers complementary products including extension leads at various lengths (100mm to 1000mm), servo leads, switch harnesses, and heavy-duty wire bulk spools. The Y-lead provides dual-output functionality, making it distinct from simple extension or servo leads, whilst switch harnesses are specifically designed for kill switch installations rather than dual servo control.
