Overview

The LOGIC Futaba Ext.Lead (Silicone) 1000mm is a premium extension lead designed for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand reliable connectivity and extended reach for their Futaba-type receiver and servo systems. Whether you're setting up a competitive RC car, a ready to run RC aircraft, or any other RC model that uses Futaba-type plugs, this 1000mm extension lead provides the extra cable length needed to position components exactly where they need to be within your model. The silicone construction offers superior flexibility and durability compared to standard vinyl alternatives, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor RC applications.

Built to the highest standards by LOGIC, this extension lead is engineered for serious RC modellers who refuse to compromise on quality. At 1 metre in length, it bridges the gap between your receiver and servos when the standard leads fall short, giving you the freedom to design your RC setup without being constrained by cable limitations. The silicone wire is particularly beneficial in demanding environments, maintaining its flexibility even in cold weather conditions — essential for UK RC enthusiasts who might be flying or driving their models year-round.

This is not a basic extension lead; it is a precision component built with gold-plated connections and high-quality mouldings that ensure perfect electrical contact and long-term reliability. If you're serious about your RC hobby in the UK, whether you fly quadcopters, drones, aircraft, or operate surface RC models like cars and motorcycles, investing in quality leads like this LOGIC silicone extension lead is a smart decision that will pay dividends in signal integrity and trouble-free operation.

Key Features

  • 1000mm Length — At one full metre, this extension lead provides substantial reach, allowing you to position your Futaba-type receiver and servos in the optimal locations within your RC model chassis or fuselage, rather than being restricted by the length of standard receiver leads.
  • Silicone Wire Construction — Unlike cheaper vinyl alternatives, silicone wire remains flexible in both warm and cold conditions, resists degradation from UV exposure and fuel/battery contact, and is inherently more durable for long-term use in RC models that might experience vibration, heat, and environmental stress.
  • Gold-Plated Connections — Gold plating on the connectors ensures superior electrical conductivity and resistance to corrosion, which is critical for maintaining clean signal transmission between your receiver and control surfaces, reducing the risk of glitches or servo jitter during flight or operation.
  • High-Quality Mouldings — Professional-grade mouldings provide robust strain relief at both ends of the lead, protecting the internal wire from damage during installation and repeated plugging/unplugging cycles, ensuring this extension lead remains reliable throughout its service life.
  • Futaba-Type Compatibility — This extension lead is compatible with all Futaba-type plugs, making it universally useful across a broad range of RC equipment, whether you're using traditional Futaba receivers, compatible third-party systems, or legacy RC radio equipment that uses the Futaba connector standard.

Technical Performance

The LOGIC Futaba Ext.Lead (Silicone) 1000mm represents the pinnacle of extension lead engineering for RC applications. The silicone wire construction is the key differentiator that sets this lead apart from budget alternatives. Silicone insulation maintains its integrity across a much wider temperature range than vinyl, remaining pliable even at freezing temperatures — a critical advantage for UK RC enthusiasts operating models during winter months. The material is also substantially more resistant to degradation from exposure to nitro fuel, diesel fuel, battery acid, and environmental contaminants commonly encountered in active RC use. The wire gauge and internal conductor quality are optimised to minimise voltage drop over the 1000mm length, ensuring your servos and receiver receive clean, stable power and signal. The gold-plated connectors are designed to military-specification standards, with flash-plating thickness that provides years of reliable service without oxidation or corrosion. The mouldings are precision-engineered to provide strain relief exactly where stress concentrates, and the overall build quality reflects LOGIC's commitment to products that will outlast cheaper alternatives and provide years of trouble-free operation in demanding RC environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the LOGIC Futaba Ext.Lead (Silicone) 1000mm suitable for all RC models? — Yes, this extension lead is compatible with all RC models and systems that use Futaba-type plugs, including aircraft, helicopters, quadcopters, drones, cars, motorcycles, and boats. If your RC equipment features the standard Futaba connector, this lead will work with it.
  • What is the advantage of silicone wire over standard vinyl extension leads? — Silicone wire is significantly more durable and flexible than vinyl, maintains its properties in cold weather, resists degradation from fuel and battery contact, and provides superior durability in high-vibration environments. For UK RC enthusiasts who operate models year-round, silicone wire is a worthwhile investment in long-term reliability.
  • Why do I need an extension lead if I already have receiver leads? — Standard receiver leads are typically 300-600mm in length, which may not reach from your receiver location to servo positions in larger models or where optimal placement requires extra distance. The 1000mm length of this extension lead solves that problem, allowing you to position components independently without running out of cable.
  • Will the gold-plated connections make a noticeable difference in my RC setup? — Yes, gold plating prevents corrosion and oxidation of the connector surfaces, ensuring consistent electrical contact and clean signal transmission. Over time, non-plated connectors can develop resistance that causes signal degradation, servo jitter, and potential glitches. Gold plating eliminates this risk entirely.
  • Is this extension lead suitable for beginners? — Yes, while this is a professional-grade component, it is straightforward to use. Simply plug it between your receiver and servo lead — no special knowledge is required. Beginners benefit from buying quality leads from the start rather than replacing cheaper alternatives later.
  • What is the difference between the LOGIC Futaba silicone extension lead and the standard heavy duty HD version? — The silicone version features silicone wire insulation, which is more flexible and durable than the vinyl insulation used in the standard heavy duty version. Both feature gold-plated connections and quality mouldings, but the silicone construction is superior for demanding applications and adverse weather conditions common in UK RC operations.
