Overview

The LOGIC Futaba Extension Lead (HD) 300mm is an essential accessory for any RC enthusiast in the UK who operates Futaba-type radio systems. Whether you're building a custom RC car installation, upgrading your servo placement, or extending the reach of your receiver connections, this 300mm heavy duty extension lead provides the perfect balance of length and practicality. At 30 centimetres, it offers convenient extra reach whilst maintaining the security and reliability that serious RC hobbyists demand from their equipment. This extension lead is ideal for RC car builders, drone pilots, and aircraft modellers who need to position their servos, receivers, or speed controllers away from their main installation point without compromising signal integrity or electrical performance.

Designed by LOGIC RC, a manufacturer recognised for quality RC accessories and components, this extension lead represents the kind of attention to detail that separates amateur builds from professional installations. The heavy duty construction ensures that whether you're running a gentle Sunday cruise or pushing your RC model to its limits during competitive racing, this lead will maintain a rock-solid connection. UK-based RC hobbyists will appreciate the robust engineering and the fact that this product is stocked by authorised retailers who understand the demands of the RC community.

The 300mm length is particularly versatile, bridging the gap between shorter 200mm leads and longer 500mm options. It's long enough to reach from a receiver box mounted high in your RC chassis to a servo positioned lower down, or to extend from your speed controller to a distant steering servo without excessive slack. This makes it an excellent choice for custom builds, retro-fitted upgrades, and any situation where standard servo leads fall just short of where you need them to reach.

Key Features

  • Heavy Duty Construction — This extension lead is purpose-built to withstand the vibrations, temperature fluctuations, and physical demands of RC use, ensuring that your connections remain stable even during aggressive driving or aerobatic flight manoeuvres.
  • Gold Plated Connections — The gold plating on the connectors significantly improves conductivity and prevents corrosion over time, which means you'll maintain clean, reliable electrical contact between your receiver, servos, and speed controllers regardless of weather conditions or storage periods.
  • 300mm Length (30cm) — This length provides the sweet spot for most custom RC installations, offering sufficient reach to position components away from each other without introducing excessive cable slack that could foul on moving parts or get caught in rotating components.
  • High Quality Mouldings and Wire — The connector housings are precision-moulded to ensure a tight, secure fit with Futaba-type plugs, whilst the internal wire is of premium quality to minimise resistance and signal loss across the lead.
  • Futaba Type Compatibility — This lead is compatible with all Futaba-type plugs and connectors, making it suitable for use with Futaba radios, Spektrum systems that use Futaba-style connectors, and any other RC equipment featuring the standard Futaba plug configuration.
  • Compact and Practical — At 300mm, this lead is compact enough to store easily and doesn't add significant weight to your RC model, yet provides meaningful extension when needed for custom installations.

Technical Performance

This extension lead is engineered with precision manufacturing standards that reflect years of experience in the RC hobby. The gold plated connections are a critical feature that cannot be overlooked—gold plating provides superior corrosion resistance compared to standard brass or nickel plating, ensuring that your connections remain pristine even after exposure to damp conditions or salt-air environments if you're operating near the coast. The high quality wire used throughout the lead is rated for the demanding requirements of RC applications, where repeated vibrations and temperature changes could compromise inferior cables. The mouldings are precision-manufactured to Futaba specifications, ensuring a perfect fit that eliminates wobbling or loose connections—a critical factor when you're relying on your servo to perform precise steering adjustments or your receiver to maintain uninterrupted signal. The 300mm length has been carefully calculated to provide maximum flexibility for most RC installations whilst avoiding the cable management issues that can arise with excessively long leads. Whether you're installing in a 1/10 scale RC car, a 1/5 scale monster truck, an RC aircraft, a quadcopter, or a radio-controlled boat, this lead will deliver the performance and reliability you expect from professional-grade RC equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the LOGIC Futaba Extension Lead suitable for all RC vehicles? — Yes, this extension lead is compatible with all RC applications that use Futaba-type connectors. This includes 1/10 scale RC cars, 1/8 scale buggies and trucks, larger scale models like 1/5 RC vehicles, RC aircraft of all types, quadcopters and drones, and RC boats. The 300mm length makes it particularly suitable for custom installations where you need to position servos, receivers, or speed controllers away from your main receiver box.
  • What makes gold plated connections better than standard connectors? — Gold plating provides superior electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. Standard brass or nickel connectors can oxidise over time, especially if exposed to moisture or salt air, which degrades the connection quality. Gold doesn't oxidise, so your connections will maintain optimal signal transmission and power delivery for years to come, regardless of storage conditions or weather exposure.
  • How does the 300mm length compare to other extension lead sizes? — The 300mm (30cm) length sits in the middle of the LOGIC range. Shorter 100mm and 200mm leads are ideal for minor extensions with minimal slack, whilst the 300mm provides meaningful reach for custom builds. Longer options like 500mm, 750mm, and 1000mm are available for installations requiring greater distances between components. For most RC car and truck installations, the 300mm is the ideal choice.
  • Can I use this lead for both servo and receiver connections? — Yes, this is a universal extension lead compatible with all Futaba-type plugs, so it works for servos, receivers, speed controllers, and any other components using Futaba connectors. Some users prefer dedicated servo leads for certain applications, but this extension lead provides complete flexibility across all your RC equipment.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This extension lead is one of the simplest accessories to use—there's no programming, no installation difficulty, and no learning curve. Simply plug it between your receiver and servo or receiver and speed controller, and you're done. Even complete beginners to RC hobbies can use this lead confidently.
  • What makes LOGIC RC extension leads reliable? — LOGIC RC manufactures to professional standards with precision mouldings, gold plated connections, and premium wire quality. The heavy duty construction means this lead will handle the vibrations and demands of actual RC use, not just bench testing. This is why it's trusted by experienced RC enthusiasts and professional modellers across the UK.
