Battery Eliminator Circuits are small devices that eliminate the need for a receiver and servo battery pack. They draw higher voltage from the motor batteries and drop it to a voltage level that is suitable for your receiver and servos. This is required in applications which draw high power for multiple servos or use more than 3S motor packs, as most ESCs with linear BECs are not designed for these applications.
NOTE: CC BEC should never be operated in series or parallel with another BEC or backup receiver pack connected to the RX/Servo side of the circuit.

Overview
The Castle Creations Castle BEC – 10A Peak 25V Max (P-CC0400) is a compact external Battery Eliminator Circuit designed to deliver stable, reliable power to your receiver and servos directly from your main drive battery. This innovative device eliminates the need for a separate receiver battery pack, streamlining your RC car UK setup and reducing overall weight. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10 scale buggy, a high-performance RC truck, or any brushless RC vehicle that demands consistent servo power, this BEC is engineered to handle the demands of modern digital servos and high-drain accessories that many standard ESC linear BECs simply cannot support.
The Castle BEC 10A is particularly valuable for RC enthusiasts who are stepping up from basic setups to more demanding applications. When you're using multiple high-draw servos, running more than 3S LiPo packs, or powering accessories like cameras and winches, standard ESC-integrated BECs often struggle to maintain clean, stable voltage. This is where the Castle BEC excels—it takes the higher voltage from your motor batteries and intelligently drops it to the precise voltage level your radio gear needs, ensuring your receiver and servos operate at peak efficiency without voltage sag or power loss. This is particularly important for UK RC car enthusiasts competing in racing events or bashers pushing their vehicles to the limit.
Manufactured by Castle Creations, a trusted brand with hundreds of thousands of BECs in the field worldwide, the CC BEC 10A represents proven reliability and engineering excellence. This is not a beginner's component—it's a serious upgrade for RC hobbyists who understand that quality power management is the foundation of a well-functioning RC system. The compact design means it won't add significant weight or bulk to your setup, whilst the robust construction ensures years of reliable service across a wide range of RC applications from ready to run RC cars to competition-grade vehicles.
Key Features
- Adjustable Output Voltage 4.8–9V — Unlike fixed-output BECs, this device allows you to set the exact voltage your receiver and servos need through Castle Link software programming, ensuring optimal performance whether you're using standard or high-voltage digital servos. This flexibility means one BEC can work across multiple RC setups.
- 10A Peak Current Capability — The 10A peak output provides enough power to reliably drive multiple high-performance digital servos simultaneously, which is essential for RC cars with advanced steering and throttle servos, high-speed vehicles, or vehicles with additional servo-driven accessories. This gives you the headroom you need without risk of current limiting or brownouts.
- Wide Input Voltage Range 5–25V (up to 6S LiPo) — This BEC accepts input from small 2S packs all the way up to 6S LiPo batteries, making it compatible with virtually any modern RC car, buggy, truck, or crawler power system. The 25V maximum input specification means it handles the full voltage range of 6-cell LiPo configurations without stress.
- High Continuous Current at Multiple Voltages — The BEC delivers 7A continuous current at 12V and 5A continuous current at 24V, ensuring stable power delivery even under sustained high-servo-load conditions. This is critical for preventing voltage sag during intense driving or racing where servo demand is constant.
- Compact, Lightweight Design — Weighing just 11 grams and measuring only 30mm long, 15mm wide, and 10mm high, this BEC adds minimal weight to your RC system whilst taking up almost no physical space. This makes it ideal for weight-sensitive applications where every gram counts, such as competition racing vehicles or aerial RC platforms.
- Heavy Duty Dual Output Wires — The inclusion of robust dual output wires ensures clean power distribution to your receiver and servos without the voltage drops or noise that can come from inadequate wiring. This engineering detail protects expensive radio equipment from power-related damage and ensures crisp servo response.
- Castle Link Compatible — This BEC integrates with Castle Creations' Castle Link software and programming options, allowing you to fine-tune output voltage and monitor performance if you're using compatible Castle ESCs in your RC setup. This makes it part of an integrated power management ecosystem.
- Designed and Assembled in the USA — Built by Castle Creations with American manufacturing standards, this BEC represents quality engineering and strict quality control, ensuring consistent performance and reliability across every unit produced.
Technical Performance
The Castle BEC 10A is engineered for applications where standard ESC-integrated linear BECs simply cannot cope with the load. At its core, this is a switched-mode voltage regulator—a more efficient and capable technology than the linear regulators built into many budget ESCs. The switched-mode design generates less heat, allows for a wider input-to-output voltage range, and can deliver higher current without thermal stress. The specifications tell the story: 7A continuous current at 12V input and 5A at 24V input demonstrate that this BEC is built for real-world high-demand scenarios. The 10A peak rating means it can handle momentary surges from multiple servos moving simultaneously, which is common in competitive RC racing where steering, throttle, and auxiliary servos all respond to input at once. The adjustable output from 4.8V to 9V gives you granular control—lower voltages for standard analogue servos and lower-power applications, higher voltages for modern digital servos that demand 6V or more for full torque. With a maximum input of 25V (6S LiPo), the BEC handles the full voltage spectrum of modern RC power systems. The compact dimensions and 11g weight mean it fits almost anywhere in your RC car, crawler, or truck without requiring major chassis modifications. The dual output wires are specifically designed to minimise voltage loss and electromagnetic noise, critical factors in maintaining clean power to sensitive receiver circuits and high-frequency digital servos.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I use this Castle BEC with my 6S LiPo battery RC car? — Yes, absolutely. The Castle BEC is rated for input voltages up to 25V, which covers the full range of 6S LiPo batteries (22.2V nominal). This makes it ideal for high-voltage RC setups including 1/5 scale vehicles, large crawlers, and competition-grade RC cars.
- What's the difference between the Castle BEC 10A and other Castle BEC models? — The Castle BEC 10A is designed for up to 6S LiPo with a 10A peak servo load, making it ideal for smaller to mid-size RC cars, helicopters up to 450 size, and vehicles using multiple high-powered digital servos. Castle also offers the CC BEC Pro for larger applications requiring 20A peak current at up to 12S, the CC BEC 2.0 for lighter sport flying, and the CC BEC Nano for ultra-compact micro applications. Choose based on your voltage requirements and total servo current demand.
- Is this BEC programmable? — Yes, this BEC is Castle Link compatible, which means if you have Castle Link software and a compatible programmer, you can adjust the output voltage from 4.8V to 9V to match your specific receiver and servo requirements. However, the BEC will function with a fixed default voltage even without programming.
- Can I run this BEC in parallel with another BEC or backup receiver pack? — No, the Castle BEC should never be operated in series or parallel with another BEC or a backup receiver pack connected to the RX/Servo side of the circuit. This configuration can cause voltage conflicts and potentially damage your receiver. Always use a single source of receiver power.
- What continuous current can I expect from this BEC? — The BEC delivers 7A continuous current at 12V input and 5A continuous current at 24V input. This means if you're running 2S or 3S batteries, you'll get the full 7A, but as input voltage increases towards 6S, the continuous current decreases to 5A. This is still sufficient for most servo applications, and the 10A peak rating handles momentary high-demand situations.
- Is the Castle BEC 10A suitable for beginner RC enthusiasts? — Whilst this BEC is straightforward to install (requiring basic soldering skills), it's primarily designed for RC enthusiasts who've moved beyond basic RTR setups and need more power management sophistication. If you have a straightforward single-servo receiver setup, a standard ESC BEC might suffice. However, if you're upgrading servos, adding accessories, or running a more demanding RC setup, this BEC is an excellent investment.
- What happens if my servo demands exceed the 10A peak rating? — If your application consistently demands more than 10A peak or 7A continuous current, you should consider the Castle CC BEC Pro, which offers 20A peak capability. The 10A rating is specifically designed for applications with multiple standard digital servos; extreme high-torque servo arrays may require the higher-capacity option.
- Does this BEC require any external components or filters? — The BEC is designed as a complete, self-contained unit. No external filtering or additional components are required for basic operation, though some advanced users add a small capacitor across the input for additional noise filtering in extreme electromagnetic interference environments.
