The compact design means it takes up minimal space whilst providing reliable connectivity when you need to charge batteries with mismatched connectors. Available from RC Model Shop, this charge lead represents excellent value for money at just £2.99, making it an affordable way to extend the compatibility of your RC charging system.

With the rising popularity of RC hobbies in the UK, having a well-stocked charging toolkit is crucial. The Logic 4mm~2mm charge lead ensures you can work with different connector standards without requiring multiple chargers or complex workarounds. It's particularly useful for RC enthusiasts who have accumulated equipment over time from different manufacturers, each potentially using slightly different connector standards. This lead helps you unify your setup and streamline your charging process, saving time and frustration when preparing your RC cars, boats, helicopters and aircraft for your next session.

Key Features

  • 4mm to 2mm connector conversion — This lead bridges the gap between two of the most common bullet connector sizes in RC applications, allowing you to connect chargers and charge boards with 4mm connectors to batteries, adapters or equipment using 2mm connectors. This versatility is invaluable when working with legacy equipment or mixing components from different manufacturers.
  • F+ (Female Positive) and M- (Male Negative) polarity — The specific polarity orientation ensures correct electrical connection and safe charging practices. The female positive connector accepts a male positive charging lead, whilst the male negative connector plugs into a female negative charge port, maintaining proper polarity throughout your charging setup and preventing accidental short circuits or reverse polarity connections.
  • Compact and portable design — Being a simple charge lead rather than a bulky adapter board, this lead takes minimal space in your RC toolbox, flight box or charging bag. It's lightweight, durable and easy to transport whether you're heading to a local RC track, going bashing in the countryside, or packing for an RC event across the UK.
  • Reliable Logic RC brand quality — Logic RC has earned a strong reputation among RC enthusiasts for producing well-made charging accessories and connector leads. This lead carries that same quality assurance, meaning you can rely on it for consistent performance and durability across countless charging cycles.
  • Cost-effective solution — At just £2.99, this charge lead offers exceptional value for money. Rather than purchasing new chargers or complete adapter boards to accommodate different connector types, this simple lead provides an economical way to expand your charging system's compatibility and flexibility.
  • Universal RC application compatibility — Whether you're charging LiPo batteries for RC cars, brushless or brushed motor systems, quadcopter batteries, helicopter LiPo packs, or any other RC application using 4mm and 2mm connectors, this lead works across the entire spectrum of RC hobbies. It's equally useful for aircraft enthusiasts, drone pilots, RC boat operators and RC car racers throughout the UK.

Technical Performance

The Logic Charge lead: 4mm~2mm (F+)(M-) represents a straightforward yet essential piece of RC charging infrastructure. Constructed with standard bullet connectors that are rated for typical RC charging applications, this lead provides reliable connectivity without the complications or expense of purchasing dedicated chargers for each connector type. The 4mm connectors are among the most common in RC applications, featured on many modern battery chargers and charge boards, whilst the 2mm connectors are equally prevalent on certain battery packs, legacy equipment and specialised RC components. The lead's engineering ensures that polarity is maintained throughout the charging process — the female positive on one end accepts standard male charging leads, whilst the male negative end plugs securely into female negative ports on your batteries or adapters. This attention to polarity is critical for safe RC battery charging and prevents the dangerous risk of reverse polarity connection that could damage electronics or cause battery failure. The materials used in the lead's construction are chosen for durability and electrical conductivity, ensuring minimal voltage drop across the connection and reliable performance across hundreds of charging cycles. Whether you're using modern LiPo batteries with integrated balance leads, older NiMH battery packs, or any RC power source in between, this lead accommodates standard connector requirements. The lead is suitable for use with virtually any RC charger on the market today — from simple wall-powered units to advanced programmable multi-chemistry chargers, making it an ideal addition to any RC enthusiast's toolkit whether you're a weekend basher, competitive racer or serious collector.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a 4mm to 2mm charge lead used for in RC charging? — This lead serves as an adapter between chargers or charge boards equipped with 4mm connectors and batteries, adapters or equipment featuring 2mm connectors. In the world of RC hobbies, different manufacturers have standardised on different connector sizes over the years. The 4mm connector is extremely popular on modern chargers, whilst the 2mm is found on certain battery packs and legacy RC equipment. This lead bridges that gap, eliminating the need to purchase separate chargers for different connector types and allowing you to work with a wider range of RC batteries and charging equipment.
  • Is the Logic CLG2 charge lead suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This is one of the simplest and most straightforward charging accessories you can own. There are no complicated settings, electronics or compatibility issues — it's simply a physical connector that joins two standard bullet connector types together. Beginners building their first RC car setup, starting out with RC drones or helicopters, or anyone new to RC hobbies will appreciate its simplicity and reliability. It's an affordable addition to your toolkit that solves a common problem in RC charging.
  • What polarity does this charge lead have? — The Logic CLG2 features F+ (Female Positive) on the 4mm end and M- (Male Negative) on the 2mm end. This means the female positive connector will accept a standard male charging lead carrying positive voltage, whilst the male negative connector plugs into a female negative charge port. This polarity orientation is crucial for safe charging and prevents accidental reverse polarity connections that could damage your batteries or electronic components.
  • Is this charge lead compatible with LiPo batteries? — Yes, this charge lead works with any RC application using 4mm and 2mm connectors, including LiPo battery packs, LiHV batteries, and other modern RC power sources. It simply acts as a physical connector adapter and doesn't interact with the battery chemistry itself. Whether you're charging cutting-edge LiPo packs for your RC car, drone or aircraft, or older battery types, this lead provides the connector compatibility you need.
  • What is the difference between the CLG2 and other Logic charge leads? — Logic RC produces an extensive range of charge leads designed to accommodate virtually every connector type used in RC hobbies. The CLG2 specifically adapts between 4mm and 2mm connectors with F+/M- polarity. Other Logic leads in the range include options like 4mm~4mm, 4mm~XT60, 4mm~EC5, 4mm~Deans, 4mm~Traxxas, and many others. The key difference is simply which connector types each lead accommodates. Choose the CLG2 specifically if you need to bridge between 4mm and 2mm connectors.
  • How many times can I reuse this charge lead? — The Logic CLG2 is designed for repeated use across many charging cycles. The durability of the connectors and lead itself means you can use it hundreds of times without degradation, making it an excellent long-term investment in your RC toolkit. Properly stored and used, a quality charge lead like this will outlast multiple batteries.
  • Can I use this lead with any RC charger? — The CLG2 works with any charger equipped with a 4mm connector on the positive and negative leads. This covers the vast majority of RC chargers available in the UK market today, from basic wall-powered single-channel units to advanced multi-chemistry programmable chargers. Simply connect your 4mm charger leads to the female connector on this lead, and the male 2mm connectors at the other end will plug into your battery or adapter with matching 2mm ports.
