Technical Performance
The Spektrum Firma 2200Kv 4-Pole Brushless Motor represents modern brushless motor engineering at its finest. The 4-pole construction is a popular choice in the RC industry because it strikes an excellent balance between the low-end torque needed for acceleration and the higher-end efficiency required for sustained power delivery. At 2200Kv, this motor operates in a sweet spot that allows it to work effectively across multiple scales and configurations, particularly in RC cars where you need a balance between speed and control. The brushless technology eliminates the carbon brushes found in traditional brushed motors, which means no brush wear, no sparking, and significantly reduced electromagnetic interference. This results in smoother power delivery, more predictable handling characteristics, and the kind of reliability that serious RC enthusiasts have come to expect from Spektrum products. The motor's construction uses high-quality materials and precision manufacturing techniques to ensure consistent performance and longevity. With the 4mm bullet connectors, installation into most RC systems is straightforward, though you'll need to ensure your ESC is properly rated for the power system you plan to use with this motor. The brushless design also means you'll get extended run times compared to equivalent brushed motors, making your RC car UK experience more enjoyable with longer periods between charges. Whether paired with 2S, 3S, or higher LiPo batteries depending on your ESC rating and application, this motor will deliver the kind of performance that separates quality RC cars from budget alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does 2200Kv mean on a brushless motor? — Kv (kilovolt) is a specification that describes how many RPM (revolutions per minute) the motor will spin per volt of input. A 2200Kv motor will spin at approximately 2200 RPM for every volt applied. This means on a 3S LiPo battery (11.1V nominal), the motor would theoretically reach around 24,420 RPM under no-load conditions. This rating helps you choose the right motor for your intended application and battery voltage.
- Is the Spektrum Firma 2200Kv suitable for beginners? — Yes, this motor is suitable for builders of various skill levels. However, you'll need some basic knowledge about RC electronics and systems to complete the installation properly. You'll need to pair it with an appropriate ESC and battery, and ensure everything is properly wired. If you're completely new to RC, you might want to start with a ready-to-run RC car first, then upgrade to brushless systems as you gain experience. For those ready to build a custom setup, this Spektrum motor is an excellent choice.
- What batteries can I use with this 2200Kv brushless motor? — The battery compatibility depends on your ESC rating rather than the motor itself. Most Spektrum ESCs in the RC car range support 2S and 3S LiPo batteries, with some supporting higher cell counts. You'll need to check your specific ESC specifications to determine maximum voltage. Always ensure your ESC is rated for the voltage and current capacity of your battery to prevent damage and ensure safe operation.
- What is the difference between a 4-pole and other pole count motors? — Motor pole count affects the motor's torque and RPM characteristics. A 4-pole motor like this Firma model offers a good middle ground between torque and speed, making it versatile for many applications. Lower pole count motors (like 2-pole) typically offer higher RPM and speed, whilst higher pole count motors (like 6, 8, or 12-pole) offer more torque and lower speeds. The 4-pole design makes this Firma 2200Kv suitable for a wide range of RC car applications.
- Can I use this motor in any RC car? — This motor requires proper installation into a compatible motor mount on your RC chassis. It's not a plug-and-play component like a ready-to-run RC car; you'll need to have or purchase an appropriate motor mount. The motor must also be paired with an ESC capable of handling the motor's specifications and your battery system. Before purchasing, ensure your RC car chassis has mounting provisions for a motor of this type.
- What makes Spektrum brushless motors special? — Spektrum is an authorised brand known for quality and reliability in the RC industry. Their Firma series represents quality engineering with tight tolerances, premium materials, and extensive testing. You get peace of mind knowing you're using a motor from a manufacturer with a strong reputation for customer support and product quality in the RC hobby.
