This 6-pole brushless inrunner motor delivers exceptional performance characteristics that make it an excellent choice for RC enthusiasts across the United Kingdom looking to upgrade or build a competitive RC model. With its 3200kV rating and precision 6-pole construction, this motor is engineered to provide consistent power delivery and reliability whether you're flying an electric RC aircraft or powering a high-performance RC model that demands responsive throttle control and smooth acceleration curves.

Spektrum has established itself as an authorised leader in RC technology, and this brushless motor exemplifies their commitment to quality and performance. The 2847-3200kV specification places this motor in a sweet spot for RC enthusiasts seeking a balance between speed and torque characteristics. Whether you're a dedicated RC flyer looking to improve your aircraft's power delivery, a competition pilot seeking competitive advantage, or an RC hobbyist exploring the benefits of brushless motor technology, this motor offers the reliability and performance that Spektrum is recognised for throughout the RC community. The brushless design eliminates the maintenance requirements of brushed motors, meaning less downtime and more flying or running time for your RC model.

This motor has earned a 4.5 out of 5 customer rating, reflecting the satisfaction of RC pilots and modellers who have integrated it into their builds across the UK and beyond. The investment in a quality brushless motor from a recognised manufacturer like Spektrum ensures you're purchasing a component built to exacting standards with the engineering expertise that only comes from decades of RC innovation.

Key Features

  • 6-Pole Motor Construction — The 6-pole configuration provides smooth power delivery and efficient commutation, which means your RC model will experience consistent torque throughout the entire throttle range, resulting in more predictable and responsive flying or running characteristics compared to lower-pole-count alternatives.
  • 3200kV Rating — The kV specification determines the motor's RPM per volt of applied power; at 3200kV, this motor delivers high rotational speeds that are ideal for applications requiring quick acceleration and crisp throttle response, making it perfect for dynamic flying or high-performance RC applications.
  • Brushless Motor Technology — Brushless motors eliminate the carbon brushes and commutator contacts found in brushed motors, resulting in significantly reduced maintenance requirements, longer lifespan, greater efficiency, and improved reliability—meaning more hobby time and less spent on upkeep for UK RC modellers.
  • Spektrum Quality and Support — As an official Spektrum product, this motor benefits from the manufacturer's reputation for quality control, compatibility assurance with other Spektrum electronics, and access to technical support and community resources that help you get the most from your RC hobby.
  • Proven Reliability — The 4.5-star customer rating demonstrates real-world performance satisfaction among RC enthusiasts, indicating this motor consistently delivers the performance expected and integrates reliably into a wide variety of RC model builds and configurations.

Technical Performance

The SPM Brushless Motor 2847-3200kV is engineered with precision manufacturing standards that Spektrum applies to all their premium motor offerings. The motor size designation of 2847 indicates specific dimensional characteristics that determine its power envelope and thermal characteristics. The 6-pole brushless construction delivers significantly higher efficiency compared to brushed alternatives, which means more of your battery's energy is converted into useful rotational output rather than being lost as heat. The 3200kV rating makes this motor particularly well-suited for mid-range to high-performance applications where responsive acceleration and smooth power delivery are essential. The brushless design incorporates high-quality magnets and precision-wound stator windings that work together to produce smooth, efficient commutation without any of the friction losses associated with brush-type motors. For RC modellers in the UK looking to upgrade from older brushed technology or seeking a reliable motor for their first brushless RC build, this motor's engineering provides the performance foundation needed for success. The motor's construction ensures compatibility with quality brushless electronic speed controllers (ESCs) and standard RC batteries, making integration into existing or new RC model builds straightforward and reliable.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of battery does the SPM Brushless Motor 2847-3200kV require? — This motor is a brushless motor designed to work with modern LiPo or LiFe battery packs. The exact battery voltage (measured in "S" cells) required depends on your specific ESC and model application. A quality brushless ESC rated for the appropriate voltage range will safely regulate power delivery to the motor. Always consult your ESC's specifications to determine compatible battery options for safe and optimal performance.
  • Is the Spektrum 2847-3200kV suitable for beginners to RC hobbies? — Whilst this is a high-quality brushless motor from a respected manufacturer, integration into an RC model does require some technical knowledge about motor mounts, ESC selection, battery compatibility, and propeller or gear sizing. Beginners may benefit from starting with a ready-to-run RC model that includes compatible motors and electronics pre-installed, then upgrading to premium motors like this one as their experience grows.
  • What does 3200kV mean and why does it matter for my RC model? — kV stands for kilovolts and represents how many revolutions per minute (RPM) the motor will turn for each volt of electrical power applied. A 3200kV motor will turn faster than lower-kV motors (like 1000kV or 1500kV) when powered by the same battery voltage. Higher kV ratings suit applications requiring quick acceleration and maximum speed, whilst lower kV motors provide more torque for heavier models or aggressive flying styles.
  • What is the difference between the 2847-3200kV and other Spektrum motor options? — Spektrum offers several brushless motor models with different size designations, kV ratings, and pole counts. The 2847 size and 3200kV specification place this motor in the high-speed category, making it ideal for performance-oriented flying or running where rapid acceleration and high top speeds are priorities. Other Spektrum motors with lower kV ratings (such as 930kV, 1300kV, or 1950kV options) provide greater torque characteristics and suit applications requiring more pulling power or slower, more controlled flight profiles.
  • Do I need an ESC (Electronic Speed Controller) to use this motor? — Yes, absolutely. A brushless motor requires an ESC to function. The ESC converts battery power into the three-phase power that brushless motors require and allows your radio control receiver to regulate motor speed via throttle input. Choose an ESC rated for your specific battery voltage and current requirements to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • How does brushless motor technology compare to brushed motors for RC models? — Brushless motors offer several significant advantages: they require virtually no maintenance (no brush replacement), run cooler and more efficiently, produce smoother power delivery, last significantly longer, and generate less electrical noise. These benefits make brushless motors the standard choice for modern RC enthusiasts across the UK and worldwide, particularly for models where performance and reliability matter.
