Overview

The E-flite BL10 Brushless Outrunner Motor, 1,250 Kv (Model M-EFLM7225) is a high-quality brushless outrunner motor specifically engineered for RC aeroplane applications. Whether you're building a new electric aircraft, upgrading an existing model, or searching for a reliable brushless RC motor UK enthusiasts trust, this motor delivers the smooth, dependable performance that electric flight demands. The BL10 represents E-flite's commitment to providing RC enthusiasts with precision engineering and straightforward installation, making it an excellent choice for pilots looking to power their aircraft with modern brushless technology.

This brushless outrunner motor is designed to integrate seamlessly into your RC aeroplane build, offering the characteristic smooth running qualities that brushless motors are renowned for in the RC flying community. With a 1,250 Kv rating and 3.5mm bullet connectors, the BL10 provides a standardised connection system that works with most modern RC ESCs (electronic speed controllers) and power systems. The fixed timing design means there are no complex adjustments to make—simply install it with a compatible ESC and suitable LiPo battery, and you're ready to fly. For UK RC aeroplane builders and enthusiasts seeking a dependable motor that combines quality construction with ease of use, the E-flite BL10 is an outstanding option.

E-flite, part of the Horizon Hobby family, has built a reputation for creating reliable RC aircraft components and complete models. The BL10 motor reflects this heritage, offering the kind of consistency and performance that experienced RC pilots and newcomers alike can depend on. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or discovering electric-powered RC aircraft for the first time, this brushless motor provides the foundation for a successful flying experience.

Key Features

  • Brushless Outrunner Design — The outrunner configuration provides the smooth, efficient power delivery that electric RC aircraft require, eliminating brush noise and wear whilst delivering consistent performance throughout your flight sessions.
  • 1,250 Kv Motor Constant — This Kv rating determines the motor's speed characteristics and, when paired with the appropriate propeller and battery configuration, allows you to match the motor's performance precisely to your aircraft's requirements.
  • 3.5mm Bullet Connectors — The standard 3.5mm bullet connector system ensures reliable electrical connections and allows for quick, tool-free disconnection when servicing your aircraft or swapping the motor between different models.
  • Fixed Timing Setup — With no adjustable timing to configure, the BL10 eliminates complexity during installation, making it ideal for builders who want straightforward assembly without the need for specialist tuning knowledge.
  • Aeroplane Application Focused — This motor is purpose-built for RC aeroplane use, meaning its power delivery characteristics and physical design are optimised specifically for aircraft rather than adapted from a car or boat motor.
  • Smooth Running Characteristics — The brushless motor design delivers vibration-free operation, which translates to smoother flight characteristics and reduced structural stress on your airframe during extended flight sessions.

Technical Performance

The E-flite BL10 Brushless Outrunner Motor is engineered with precision to deliver reliable performance in RC aeroplane applications. With a 1,250 Kv rating, this motor is calibrated to provide suitable speed and torque characteristics when paired with the correct propeller size and battery configuration. The brushless outrunner design means that rather than brushes and a fixed stator, the motor's outer rotor rotates around a stationary core, a configuration that delivers superior efficiency, longevity, and smooth power delivery compared to traditional brushed motors. The 3.5mm bullet connectors provide solid electrical connectivity and are industry-standard across most modern RC ESCs, ensuring compatibility with your speed controller and wiring harness. Regarding battery compatibility, a 3S LiPo battery such as the EFLB18003S30 (3S 1800mAh) is recommended for this motor, making it suitable for mid-sized RC aeroplane builds. The fixed timing design means there is no need for adjustable timing configuration—the motor arrives ready to install, reducing setup time and potential calibration errors. E-flite does not publish maximum wattage or peak current specifications for this motor, but it operates reliably on a 40-amp ESC, providing a practical guideline for ESC selection. The outrunner configuration's inherent characteristics—low temperature rise, efficient power conversion, and smooth torque delivery—make the BL10 particularly well-suited to extended flight sessions where reliability and consistent performance are paramount.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between this E-flite BL10 and other brushless RC aircraft motors? — The BL10's 1,250 Kv rating positions it in the mid-range for RC aeroplane motors, making it suitable for general-purpose flying and trainer aircraft. The E-flite Power 25 and Rimfire .25 motors represent alternatives for those seeking performance closer to a traditional .25 glow engine equivalent, whereas the BL10 is more comparable to a 0.10 glow engine in terms of power characteristics. The choice between these depends on your specific aircraft design and performance requirements.
  • What battery should I use with the E-flite BL10 motor? — A 3S LiPo battery is recommended for this motor. The EFLB18003S30 (3S 1800mAh LiPo) is specifically suggested as a compatible battery pack for applications like the E-flite Piper Pacer. Your specific aircraft may have different battery recommendations, so always refer to your airframe's build guide for optimal battery sizing.
  • Is this motor suitable for beginners? — Yes, the BL10 is suitable for beginning RC aeroplane builders. The fixed timing design eliminates complex configuration steps, and the standard 3.5mm bullet connectors mean straightforward installation with any compatible ESC. However, you will still need to select an appropriate ESC, battery, and propeller for your aircraft, so some knowledge of RC systems is helpful. Consulting the manufacturer's guidelines for your specific airframe will ensure proper setup.
  • Does this motor come with a propeller adapter? — No, the BL10 is a motor-only package and does not include a propeller adapter. You will need to source an appropriate adapter separately to match your chosen propeller to the motor shaft.
  • What ESC rating should I use with this motor? — The BL10 operates reliably on a 40-amp ESC, making this a practical guideline for ESC selection. Ensure your chosen ESC is compatible with 3S LiPo batteries and features 3.5mm bullet connectors or appropriate connectors that can be adapted to suit.
  • Can I use this motor in the E-flite Radian 2m aircraft? — The BL10 is designed for aeroplane applications, but the Radian XL uses the PKZ4716 motor specifically. Whilst the BL10 is a brushless outrunner motor, compatibility with the standard Radian 2m depends on your specific airframe design and installation requirements. Always verify motor compatibility with your aircraft's manual before purchasing.
