Key Features
- Genuine E-flite Spare Part — This is an authentic E-flite component engineered to the same tolerances and quality standards as the complete retract systems, ensuring perfect fit and reliable performance with your existing or new 25–46 retract installation.
- Left Main Wire Strut Design — The left-side configuration is specifically engineered for main landing gear installation, providing the structural support and correct geometry needed for smooth retraction and extension cycles throughout your aircraft's service life.
- 25–46 Size Compatibility — Engineered for use with E-flite's 25–46 electric retract units, this strut fits airframes in the mid-to-large RC scale category, including sport models, scale trainers, and performance aircraft that require robust landing gear systems.
- Precision Wire Construction — The wire strut is manufactured with precision metalwork to provide optimal strength-to-weight ratio, essential for maintaining aircraft balance and ensuring your landing gear cycles reliably without adding unnecessary mass to your model.
- Easy Installation and Replacement — As a direct replacement component, this strut integrates seamlessly with existing 25–46 retract systems, making it straightforward to replace damaged or worn parts and restore your aircraft to full operational readiness.
- Durable Materials — Built from high-quality materials selected for their strength, corrosion resistance, and fatigue performance, this strut withstands repeated landing gear cycles and the stresses of regular flight operations.
- Cost-Effective Spares Solution — Rather than replacing entire retract assemblies, you can purchase individual struts to address specific wear or damage, making maintenance more affordable and sustainable for long-term model ownership.
Technical Performance
The E-flite 25–46 Left Main Wire Strut represents the engineering approach that distinguishes E-flite products in the competitive RC aircraft market. Built with precision metalwork and high-grade materials, this strut is engineered to deliver consistent performance across hundreds of landing gear cycles. The wire construction provides an optimal balance between structural rigidity and weight efficiency—critical factors in RC aviation where every gram affects flight characteristics and battery consumption. The strut is designed to integrate seamlessly with E-flite's 25–46 series electric retract units, which operate across the typical 4.8–7.4V receiver/BEC voltage range found in most modern RC aircraft installations. This voltage compatibility ensures the strut functions correctly regardless of your power system configuration, whether you are flying 3S or higher-capacity LiPo battery setups common in larger scale models. The materials and construction methods employed in this strut have been refined through extensive field testing by E-flite's development team, ensuring the component can handle the repetitive stresses of retraction and extension without flexing, binding, or premature wear. Modellers integrating this strut into scale builds benefit from the crisp, reliable gear cycling that distinguishes well-engineered retract systems from inferior alternatives. The left-side configuration is precisely dimensioned to match the geometry of the 25–46 retract frame, guaranteeing correct alignment with your airframe's main gear mounting points and ensuring your aircraft sits level on the ground with proper weight distribution across both main legs.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What size retract system does the F-EFLG302 wire strut fit? — This left main wire strut is engineered specifically for E-flite's 25–46 size electric retract units. The 25–46 designation indicates compatibility with mid-to-large scale RC aircraft, including sport models and scale trainers. To ensure proper fit, verify that your existing retract system or planned installation uses the 25–46 size classification before ordering.
- Can I use just one wire strut or do I need to purchase both left and right? — A complete main landing gear installation requires both left and right wire struts to function properly. If you are replacing a damaged left strut, you will need one F-EFLG302 unit. If you are building a new retract installation from components, you will need both F-EFLG302 (left) and F-EFLG303 (right) to complete the main gear assembly.
- Is this wire strut compatible with my current E-flite retract system? — Compatibility depends on your existing retract's size classification. This strut is designed for 25–46 size systems only. Check your retract unit's documentation or contact our experienced team at RC Model Shop if you are unsure of your system's size. Our knowledgeable modellers can advise on compatibility and help you select the correct components for your specific airframe.
- What makes this a better choice than aftermarket or generic wire struts? — Genuine E-flite spare parts are engineered to precise tolerances and manufactured using the same quality standards as complete retract assemblies. Aftermarket alternatives may not fit as cleanly or perform as reliably, leading to binding gear, misalignment, and potential in-flight landing gear failures. Investing in authentic E-flite spares ensures your aircraft operates safely and maintains proper performance throughout its service life.
- How often do I need to replace my landing gear wire struts? — With proper maintenance and normal use, wire struts are durable components designed to last hundreds of landing cycles. Replacement becomes necessary if the strut is bent, cracked, or excessively worn from corrosion or impact damage. Regular inspection before and after flights, along with occasional cleaning and light lubrication of moving parts, will extend the lifespan of your landing gear system.
- What voltage do I need for the retract unit using this wire strut? — E-flite 25–46 electric retract units typically operate at 4.8–7.4V, the standard voltage range for modern RC aircraft receivers and BECs. Whether you are flying 3S or 4S LiPo batteries with a regulated BEC, this voltage compatibility ensures smooth, reliable gear cycling. Always verify your specific retract unit's voltage specifications in the product documentation.
- Is this wire strut suitable for beginner modellers? — This component is best suited for modellers with experience building or maintaining RC aircraft and familiarity with retract system installation. If you are new to RC aviation or retract systems, we recommend consulting with our experienced team at RC Model Shop before installation. Our knowledgeable staff can provide guidance on proper assembly, adjustment, and maintenance to ensure your landing gear performs flawlessly.
