Overview

The Overlander 5300 mAh 2S 7.4 V 55 C Hard-Case LiPo Battery (EC5) – 3141EC5 is a robust, competition-ready power pack engineered for demanding RC applications across the UK and beyond. Whether you're piloting a high-performance 1/10 scale RC car, racing a competitive buggy, or bashing an off-road truck, this battery delivers the consistent power and durability that serious RC enthusiasts demand. Built with precision-matched Fullymax cells and housed in a protective hard case, the 3141EC5 combines rugged construction with dependable performance that makes it a go-to choice for racers, bashers, and weekend warriors alike.

If you're searching for a reliable LiPo battery for your RC car UK setup, this hard-case pack offers exceptional value and proven performance. The Sport-Track series has earned its reputation through strict quality control and real-world testing in competitive environments. With a 55 C burst rating and 30 C continuous discharge, this battery can handle aggressive acceleration, high-speed runs, and extended bashing sessions without breaking a sweat. The EC5 connector ensures secure, high-current power delivery to your ESC, whilst the JST-XH balance plug allows for safe, monitored charging and cell balancing.

Manufactured under strict cleanroom conditions, every cell in the 3141EC5 is matched for voltage, resistance, and weight—a process that guarantees balanced discharges and long-term reliability even under extreme stress. This attention to detail is why the Sport-Track range carries BRCA approval for competitive racing events. Whether you're upgrading an Arrma 1/10 monster truck like the Granite 223S, setting up a new track car, or maintaining a fleet of RC vehicles, the Overlander 3141EC5 is purpose-built to deliver power when you need it most.

Technical Performance

The Overlander 3141EC5 is engineered for serious RC enthusiasts who refuse to compromise on power or reliability. With a continuous discharge rating of 30 C (delivering 159 A of continuous current) and a burst rating of 55 C (reaching peak outputs of 291.5 A), this battery excels in applications demanding rapid acceleration and sustained high-speed performance. The 2S LiPo configuration delivers 7.4 V nominal voltage with 5300 mAh capacity, offering 39.22 Wh of total energy—sufficient for extended racing sessions or aggressive bashing runs without frequent battery swaps. The hard-case construction distinguishes this battery from soft-pack alternatives, providing superior protection against mechanical stress and puncture damage whilst maintaining weight efficiency. Fullymax cells are produced under strict cleanroom conditions where each cell undergoes rigorous voltage, resistance, and weight matching before assembly, ensuring that all cells discharge uniformly and maintain perfect balance throughout their service life. This manufacturing precision eliminates the premature failure and voltage imbalance issues common in lesser-quality packs. The EC5 connector, rated for the high currents this battery can deliver, minimises resistance losses and provides secure mechanical engagement—critical when pushing an Arrma 1/10 brushless RC truck or competitive buggy to its limits. The 10 AWG silicone lead construction further reduces voltage drop during peak discharge events, allowing your ESC and motor to receive clean, stable power. Whether powering a 3100 KV brushless motor in a ready-to-run RC monster truck, driving a high-performance track buggy, or feeding a race-spec ESC in competitive environments, the 3141EC5 delivers consistent, dependable performance session after session.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Overlander 3141EC5 compatible with my Arrma Granite 223S brushless RC truck? — Yes, this battery is an excellent match for the Arrma Granite 223S DSC 4X4 RTR brushless monster truck. The truck's Spektrum SLT 80A 2-in-1 waterproof ESC accepts both 2S and 3S LiPo batteries, and the 3141EC5's 7.4 V (2S) configuration will deliver 35+ mph performance with the 3100 KV brushless motor whilst providing the burst power needed for aggressive bashing and terrain challenges.
  • What is the difference between the 55 C burst rating and the 30 C continuous discharge rating? — The 30 C continuous discharge rating indicates the maximum sustained current the battery can safely deliver for extended periods without overheating, which equals 159 A in this case. The 55 C burst rating allows for short, intense current peaks of up to 291.5 A for rapid acceleration and high-speed runs lasting just a few seconds. Most racing and bashing applications operate within the continuous rating most of the time, with burst currents accessed during aggressive throttle inputs.
  • Can I use the Overlander 3141EC5 in competitive RC racing events? — Yes. The Sport-Track series carries BRCA (British Radio Car Association) approval, making this battery suitable for use in official UK RC racing competitions where certified equipment is mandatory. If you're competing in organised track events, this battery meets all recognised standards.
  • What charger do I need for this battery? — The 3141EC5 requires a LiPo-compatible charger with JST-XH balance connector support. A quality AC charger like the SkyRC S65 AC Charger (65W) or Spektrum S155 G2 smart charger will safely charge this battery whilst monitoring individual cell voltage through the balance plug. Avoid using chargers without balance connector support, as they cannot prevent dangerous cell voltage imbalances.
  • How long will this battery last during a race or bashing session? — Runtime depends on your RC model's motor, ESC settings, and driving style. For a 1/10 scale brushless monster truck like the Arrma Granite 223S, expect 15–25 minutes of continuous running on a single charge at moderate to high throttle settings. Race driving at full speed will reduce runtime; gentler bashing sessions will extend it. Most serious RC enthusiasts own multiple batteries to minimise downtime between charges.
  • Is this battery waterproof? — No. The battery itself is not waterproof and must not be submerged. However, the hard case provides excellent splash protection during normal RC bashing. Always store the battery in a safe, dry location, and avoid exposing it to water during operation. If your RC vehicle is water-resistant (like the Arrma Granite 223S with waterproof electronics), the battery tray itself is typically protected by the vehicle chassis.
  • What does BRCA approval mean? — The British Radio Car Association sets technical and safety standards for competitive RC racing in the UK. BRCA approval certifies that the Overlander Sport-Track range meets these standards for official racing events, ensuring consistent performance and safety for competitors.
  • Can I purchase alternative connector types? — Yes. Overlander manufactures the same 5300 mAh 2S battery in Deans, Traxxas, and XT90 connector configurations. Check which connector your ESC uses and select the appropriate variant. The EC5 version (3141EC5) is ideal for newer high-current ESC setups and is increasingly the standard choice for modern RC vehicles.
  • How do I safely charge this battery? — Always use a dedicated LiPo charger with balance connector support. Charge the battery in a fireproof LiPo safety bag or sack to contain potential thermal events. Never leave a charging battery unattended. Avoid overcharging—stop immediately when the charger indicates the balance cells have reached 4.2 V per cell (8.4 V total for 2S). Most modern smart chargers handle this automatically when connected via the JST-XH balance plug.
  • What is the expected lifespan of the Overlander 3141EC5? — With proper care (correct charging, safe storage, and regular balance charging), a quality LiPo battery typically provides 300–500 complete charge-discharge cycles before performance begins to degrade noticeably. The precision-matched cells and hard-case construction in the Sport-Track series contribute to longer lifespan than budget alternatives. Store unused batteries at room temperature in a safe location, and perform a balance charge every 30 days during storage to maintain cell health.
  • Is this battery suitable for beginners? — Whilst the 3141EC5 is a high-performance battery, it is suitable for beginners using appropriate RC models. If you're new to LiPo batteries, ensure you understand safe charging procedures, storage requirements, and the importance of using a charger with balance connector support. The battery itself is safe when treated correctly; the key is respecting LiPo chemistry and following manufacturer guidelines.
