Overview

The Sweep TriLug Rock Crawler 1.9in Tyres in Gold Super Soft compound represent a premium tyre choice for serious RC rock crawlers and technical terrain enthusiasts across the UK. These specialist crawler tyres are engineered specifically for maximum compliance and grip on rocky, uneven surfaces where precision and control are paramount. Whether you're tackling a challenging rock garden, navigating technical crawling courses, or simply exploring rough outdoor terrain with your 1.9-inch wheel setup, these tyres deliver the performance characteristics that experienced RC crawler builders demand. The gold compound designation indicates a super soft rubber formulation that excels at conforming to irregular surfaces, providing exceptional traction in demanding conditions that would challenge harder tyre compounds.

Supplied as a pair and identified by part number SR-TR19G, the Sweep TriLug Rock Crawler tyres are sized perfectly for 1.9-inch crawler wheels and beadlock rims, making them an ideal upgrade or replacement for your existing RC crawler setup. The TriLug tread pattern is specifically designed for rock crawling applications, offering multiple contact points and aggressive bite characteristics that help your crawler maintain traction across boulders, loose stones, and technical obstacles. These tyres are an essential component of any serious crawler build, whether you're running a Axial SCX10, TRX-4, or any other 1.9-inch diameter crawler platform popular in the UK RC community.

RC crawlers represent one of the most technically demanding disciplines within the hobby, requiring precision, patience, and equipment specifically engineered for low-speed technical terrain. The Sweep TriLug Rock Crawler tyres address the fundamental need for maximum grip and compliance, allowing your crawler to maintain contact with uneven surfaces and execute the precise movements required for advanced crawling techniques. When you're investing time and money into building a competitive or recreational RC crawler in the UK, choosing quality specialist tyres like these Sweep TriLugs makes a genuine difference to performance and reliability.

Key Features

  • Gold Super Soft Compound — The super soft rubber formulation ensures maximum compliance and grip on rocky, technical terrain, allowing the tyre to conform precisely to irregular surfaces and maintain consistent contact with obstacles, which is essential for successful rock crawling.
  • TriLug Tread Pattern — The specialised TriLug tread design features multiple lugs and contact points specifically engineered for rock crawling applications, delivering aggressive bite and grip characteristics that standard tyres cannot match.
  • 1.9-inch Diameter — Sized at 119.30mm outer diameter, these tyres are perfectly matched to the vast majority of 1.9-inch crawler wheels and beadlock rims used in UK RC crawling, ensuring proper fitment and stance on your build.
  • Lightweight Construction — At 105g per tyre, the weight is optimised for crawler applications where mass matters significantly for traction, weight distribution, and overall vehicle performance on technical terrain.
  • Optimal Width — The 52.40mm width provides the ideal balance between ground contact area and manoeuvrability, allowing your crawler to maintain stability whilst navigating tight spaces and technical obstacles.
  • Supplied as Pair — Delivered with two tyres (one pair), these are ready to fit to your front or rear axle, or mix and match with other tyre options depending on your specific crawling setup and terrain preferences.
  • Crawler-Specific Design — Unlike general-purpose RC tyres, these are engineered from the ground up for crawling applications, incorporating design principles that address the unique demands of low-speed technical terrain navigation.
  • Beadlock Compatible — The TriLug tyres are designed for use with beadlock rims, the industry standard for serious crawler builds, ensuring secure fitment and allowing you to run lower pressures for maximum compliance without risk of bead separation.

Technical Performance

The Sweep TriLug Rock Crawler 1.9in Tyres represent the culmination of specialist engineering focused entirely on rock crawling performance. The gold super soft compound sits at the softer end of tyre hardness scales, prioritising grip and surface compliance over durability, making it the ideal choice for technical terrain where maximum traction is paramount. The 119.30mm outer diameter specification ensures these tyres are proportionally correct for 1.9-inch wheel systems, maintaining the geometry and ground clearance calculations essential for crawler builds. At 105g per tyre, the weight is kept purposefully light without sacrificing sidewall strength, allowing your crawler to maintain optimal weight distribution and traction. The 52.40mm width specification demonstrates careful engineering to balance ground contact patch against the need for manoeuvrability in tight technical sections. The TriLug tread pattern incorporates multiple lug elements specifically analysed for crawling applications, ensuring multiple contact points maintain engagement with rock surfaces, irregular obstacles, and technical terrain features. The sidewall construction is engineered to allow sufficient flex at the ultra-low pressures that serious crawlers require, conforming precisely to surface irregularities whilst maintaining structural integrity. These tyres work in conjunction with quality beadlock rims, allowing you to achieve the low pressures necessary for maximum compliance without risking bead separation during extreme articulation. Whether you're attempting technical crawling courses, navigating natural rock gardens, or pushing the limits of your crawler's capabilities, the TriLug compound and pattern combination delivers the specialist performance characteristics that elevate crawling success.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between gold compound and other Sweep tyre compounds? — The gold super soft compound is specifically formulated for maximum grip and compliance on rocky terrain. Softer compounds excel at conforming to irregular surfaces and providing traction, whilst harder compounds prioritise durability and speed. For rock crawling applications, the gold super soft compound represents the optimal choice, though it may wear faster than harder compounds if used on abrasive concrete or asphalt. Serious crawlers prioritise grip over tyre longevity, making the gold compound the preferred option across the UK RC crawling community.
  • Are these tyres suitable for beginners or intermediate crawlers? — Yes, the Sweep TriLug Rock Crawler tyres are suitable for any skill level. Beginners benefit from the enhanced grip and compliance characteristics, which make it easier to maintain traction and develop crawling techniques. Intermediate and advanced crawlers choose these tyres specifically for technical terrain challenges. The super soft compound is particularly forgiving on rocky surfaces, making these tyres an excellent starting point for anyone building their first serious crawler or upgrading from general-purpose tyres.
  • What wheels and rims are compatible with these 1.9-inch tyres? — These tyres are designed for 1.9-inch diameter crawler wheels and beadlock rims. Most specialist RC crawler manufacturers including Axial, Traxxas, and other brands produce wheels in this size. Beadlock rims are strongly recommended for serious crawling, as they allow you to run significantly lower pressures without risk of bead separation during extreme articulation, which is essential for maximum compliance on technical terrain. Always verify wheel diameter specifications before purchase to ensure proper fitment.
  • What terrain performs best with the TriLug tread pattern? — The TriLug tread pattern excels on rocky terrain, boulder fields, uneven surfaces, and technical crawling courses. The multiple lug design provides excellent grip on stone and rock surfaces whilst the pattern design allows it to find purchase on irregular obstacles. These tyres also perform well on loose gravel and mixed terrain, though they are specifically optimised for the type of technical rock crawling that dominates UK crawling events and natural terrain exploration.
  • How do these compare to other 1.9-inch crawler tyre options? — The Sweep TriLug Rock Crawler tyres represent a high-quality specialist option combining proven tread pattern design with an aggressive super soft compound formulation. The TriLug pattern is recognised across the crawling community for delivering consistent grip on technical terrain. Sweep's manufacturing reputation ensures consistent quality and performance. These tyres are significantly more specialised than general-purpose RC tyres, offering superior performance in crawling applications compared to harder compounds or different tread patterns designed for speed or on-road use.
  • What pressure should I run in these tyres? — Rock crawling typically demands very low tyre pressures, often in the range of 0.5 to 1.5 bar, to maximise compliance and surface contact. The exact pressure depends on your specific terrain, vehicle weight, and crawling style. Always use quality beadlock rims when running such low pressures, as standard rims risk bead separation. Consult your crawler manufacturer's recommendations and experiment to find the optimal pressure for your specific setup and local terrain conditions.
  • How long do these tyres typically last? — Tyre lifespan depends entirely on usage patterns and terrain. The super soft gold compound prioritises grip over durability, meaning these tyres will wear faster than harder compounds, particularly if used on abrasive surfaces. However, serious crawlers accept this trade-off willingly, as maximum grip and compliance are paramount for technical terrain success. Regular crawling on rocky terrain will require periodic tyre replacement, which is simply part of the hobby. Storage in cool, dark conditions helps preserve tyre compound integrity between sessions.
  • Can I use these tyres on asphalt or tarmac? — Whilst technically possible, using super soft crawling compound tyres on asphalt or tarmac is not recommended. These surfaces cause accelerated wear on soft compounds, and the tread pattern is not optimised for hard surfaces. These tyres are specifically engineered for rocky terrain and similar environments. For mixed terrain use, consider alternative tyre compounds and patterns, or maintain separate tyre sets for different environments.
