Overview

The AXIAL Bearing 5x11x4mm Z-AXA1221 is an essential replacement part for RC enthusiasts who demand precision performance from their scale crawlers and rock buggies. These genuine Axial ball bearings are specifically engineered to deliver smooth, reliable rotation in demanding RC car UK applications, from competitive rock crawling to casual weekend bashing. If you own any Axial model—whether it's a Capra, SCX10 III, RBX10 Ryft, or any other Axial ready to run RC vehicle—you'll find these bearings are the perfect upgrade or replacement to keep your model running at peak performance.

Quality bearings are fundamental to RC car performance, and this is why Axial manufactures these components with the same precision and durability that goes into building complete models. The 5x11x4mm size is a critical dimension found across numerous Axial platforms, making this a highly sought-after part for anyone maintaining or upgrading their fleet. Whether you're preparing for a competitive event or simply keeping your brushless RC buggy in top condition, these sealed bearings represent a genuine OEM solution that enthusiasts trust.

This pack contains two sealed 5x11x4mm bearings, offering the flexibility to upgrade multiple components or keep spares on hand. Many RC modellers in the UK maintain spare bearing sets to minimise downtime between sessions, and the quality construction of Axial's components ensures they deliver consistent performance lap after lap, run after run.

Key Features

  • Genuine Axial Manufacturing — These bearings are produced by Axial themselves using high-quality components selected for longevity and precision, ensuring they meet the exact specifications of your model and deliver the reliable performance you expect from an original equipment manufacturer part.
  • Sealed Design — The sealed construction protects internal components from dirt, mud, water and debris, which is particularly important for RC crawlers and buggies that operate in challenging outdoor terrain across UK landscapes, allowing your bearings to maintain smooth operation even in harsh conditions.
  • Steel Construction — Built from durable steel materials, these bearings are engineered to withstand the rigorous demands of RC driving, providing exceptional strength and resistance to wear during extended use, whether you're running high-speed circuits or tackling technical obstacles.
  • Lower Rolling Resistance — Compared to traditional bushings, precision ball bearings significantly reduce friction and rolling resistance, resulting in smoother drivetrain performance, more efficient power delivery from your motor, and improved overall handling characteristics in your RC vehicle.
  • Greater Precision than Bushings — The engineering tolerances in these ball bearings provide substantially tighter tolerances and more consistent rotation than bushing alternatives, translating to better steering response, more predictable handling, and improved accuracy in competitive RC applications.
  • Pair Supply — This pack contains two 5x11x4mm bearings, allowing you to upgrade or replace bearings on both sides of an axle component or maintain spare parts for future maintenance and repairs.

Technical Performance

These 5x11x4mm sealed ball bearings represent genuine Axial engineering designed to excel in the demanding world of RC crawling and off-road driving. The dimensions—5mm bore, 11mm outer diameter, and 4mm width—are precisely calibrated to fit numerous Axial platforms including the SCX10 III range, Capra series, RBX10 Ryft, and many other contemporary Axial models. The sealed construction is critical for longevity in RC applications, as it prevents the ingress of mud, sand, water and other contaminants that would otherwise degrade bearing performance and require frequent replacement. Steel construction provides the durability needed to handle acceleration, cornering loads, and the continuous friction generated by powered axles in 4WD rock crawlers and trail buggies. The precision manufacturing ensures rolling resistance is minimised, which translates to smoother power delivery, reduced battery drain from mechanical friction losses, and improved handling precision during technical driving sections. These bearings are significantly superior to bushings in terms of rotational smoothness and lifespan, making them an excellent upgrade choice for owners seeking to enhance their RC crawler's performance and reliability. Whether you're running a brushless ESC pushing full power through the drivetrain or a brushed setup tackling technical terrain, these bearings will perform consistently across a wide range of driving conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What Axial models are compatible with the 5x11x4mm bearing? — This bearing size is used across numerous Axial platforms including the SCX10 III series (Base Camp, Coyote, Early Ford Bronco, Jeep CJ-7, Jeep JLU Wrangler, Jeep JT Gladiator, 1987 Toyota SR5), Capra Unlimited 1.9 4X4 models, RBX10 Ryft, RR10 Bomber, SCX10 II variants, SMT10 monster trucks, Wraith, Yeti, and the SCX6 1/6 scale crawlers. It's also compatible with various kit versions and RTR ready to run models from Axial's current and recent lineup.
  • Why should I upgrade to these sealed bearings? — Sealed bearings dramatically reduce rolling resistance compared to bushings, which means your brushless or brushed motor has to work less hard to spin the wheels, resulting in longer runtimes, cooler running temperatures, and improved handling response. The sealed design also keeps mud and water out during wet weather RC driving across UK terrain, extending the bearing lifespan significantly.
  • How many bearings do I need? — This pack contains two bearings, which is typically enough to upgrade one axle assembly on many Axial models. If you're upgrading multiple assemblies or want to keep spares on hand, you may want to purchase additional packs. Many RC enthusiasts maintain several spare bearing packs for quick maintenance between sessions.
  • Are these bearings easy to install? — These 5x11x4mm bearings are straightforward drop-in replacements for most Axial models, as they are genuine OEM components designed to fit perfectly into existing bearing housings and axle assemblies. Installation is a simple press-fit or press-out procedure that most RC modellers can perform with basic tools.
  • What is the difference between sealed and unsealed bearings? — Sealed bearings have protective shields or seals that prevent dirt, water and mud from entering the bearing cavity, which is essential for RC vehicles operating in outdoor environments. Unsealed bearings offer slightly less friction but deteriorate quickly when exposed to moisture and contaminants, making sealed bearings the superior choice for reliable, long-term performance.
  • Do I need any tools to install these bearings? — Most Axial models use simple bearing press-out/press-in procedures. Depending on your specific model, you may need a bearing puller or a simple press tool, but many RC enthusiasts accomplish bearing replacement with basic household tools or improvised methods.
