Overview
The RPM Toe-In Gauge is an essential tool for any RC enthusiast, whether you're a casual hobbyist enjoying your RC car at the weekend or a serious competitor looking to fine-tune your vehicle's setup. This innovative gauge allows you to perform accurate trackside checks of toe-in angles without the need to remove your wheels, making it an invaluable addition to your RC toolkit. Toe-in is a critical suspension setting that directly affects handling, tyre wear, and overall performance of your RC vehicle, and being able to check and adjust this parameter quickly and accurately can make the difference between a winning setup and a struggling one.
If you're running 1/10 scale RC cars, trucks, sedans, or buggies in the UK RC market, the RPM Toe-In Gauge is designed specifically for your needs. The gauge works through a simple yet effective method: it measures the distance between your wheels at the rear of the tyre and compares this to the distance between the wheels at the front of the tyre. This comparison allows you to determine the precise toe-in angle with accuracy to within one half of a degree per side, and often even closer than that. This level of precision means you can dial in your suspension setup with confidence, whether you're preparing for competition or simply wanting your RC vehicle to handle better on the track.
What sets this tool apart is its versatility and ease of use. Unlike complex measurement systems that require additional equipment or involve removing components, the RPM Toe-In Gauge can be used right at the trackside, allowing you to make quick adjustments between runs without wasting valuable practice time. The black finish gives it a professional appearance, and it's built to the high standards you'd expect from RPM R/C Products.
Key Features
- Trackside toe-in measurement without wheel removal — This feature is crucial because it saves you time and allows you to check your suspension geometry quickly at the track or during practice sessions, without having to disassemble your vehicle or use complicated measurement techniques that require multiple tools.
- Accuracy to within one half degree per side — This level of precision ensures that your toe-in adjustments are reliable and repeatable, giving you confidence that small changes you make to your suspension will have the intended effect on your vehicle's handling and performance.
- Works with most 1/10 scale cars, trucks and sedans — Whether you're running an off-road buggy, a touring car, or a rock crawler, this gauge is compatible with the vast majority of 1/10 scale vehicles commonly used in UK RC racing and bashing applications.
- Two adjustment holes for different vehicle widths — The gauge includes a second thumbscrew hole specifically designed to accommodate narrower vehicles such as sedans and other compact RC models, making this a truly universal tool for your entire RC fleet.
- Legal width checking capability — Beyond toe-in measurement, this gauge can also be used to verify that your off-road buggy or truck meets the legal width specifications for competition racing, making it a multi-purpose tool that offers excellent value for money.
- Simple comparison measurement method — The straightforward approach of comparing front and rear wheel distances means that even beginners can learn to use this tool effectively, whilst experienced racers appreciate the speed and consistency it brings to their setup routine.
Technical Performance
The RPM Toe-In Gauge is engineered with precision in mind, utilising a straightforward mechanical design that eliminates the need for batteries, electronics, or complicated calibration procedures. The gauge measures toe-in angles by comparing the width of your vehicle measured at the rear of the tyres to the width measured at the front of the tyres, with accuracy to within one half of a degree per side and often even closer. This precision engineering is essential for RC racers who understand that small changes in suspension geometry can significantly impact vehicle behaviour on the track. The gauge is specifically recommended for use with 1/10 scale sedans, buggies, and trucks running 2.2-inch wheels or smaller, though it is compatible with most other 1/10 scale RC vehicles. The robust construction of this tool means it will withstand the rigours of regular use at the track, in the workshop, or during transport between venues. Whether you're adjusting your RC buggy for a tight technical course or setting up your RC truck for maximum stability on loose surfaces, this gauge provides the repeatability and accuracy you need to dial in your setup with confidence.
